Very Bad room conditions. toilet wasn't clean. Rooms are colds. wifi don't work. actually I have been in so many hotels and 95% of them has wifi problems. so be prepared for this. Receptionst were not experienced. I travel potsdam for my job purpose, and it's always paid by my company. but only this hotel they said it is not paid. after wasting my 1 hour they said everything is fine and without saying sorry.

The location was great, the hotel not so much. Although the hotel is on the river, it seems that no rooms actually offer a good view - your only choices are dumpsters, parking lots, or a (wonderful yet noisy) restaurant. The stench of this place in the evening is unbearable and throughout the day at least half of the property stinks of sewage. That rules out sleeping with the window open, which leaves the weak AC to try and keep the temperature under 23°C. The room itself was rather spartan, with the bathroom being most disappointing. It was a massive steel sink reminiscent of a prison or an airplane, plus an older shelf-style toilet - that toilet, in combination with the poor bathroom ventilation, plus the sewage smell seeping in from outside, left me wanting to put my old Corona-era masks back on. The carpets in the room were dirty and the room furnishings were often dusty or in seemingly poor condition. The WLAN situation is just lamentable too - it makes more sense to just use mobile data. The breakfast was by far the worst part of the hotel. It ought to be a crime to try to charge €16 for that slop. Room-temperature milk and quark/yogurt, gray unseasoned scrambled eggs, store-bought premade pastries, fruit cocktail out of the can, sad little sausages floating in water, barely warmed and baked bread rolls... I could have gone down the street to Lidl and bought better for half the price. The opinion that the breakfast was a rip-off was shared by the other guests eating there as well. The fact that the personel were friendly can't begin to make up for how much of a disaster this place is. Please, book any other hotel in the area with the money you would have spent here.

Rooms (suite) and beds are ok. Bathroom is very simple, shower in bath., shower was broken. Breakfast was a disaster: no seating for 30 min +, one coffee machine for 100+ people, coffee machine was out of order, personnel was completely out of control. Not recommended (we skipped the breakfast from out booking and went somewhere else).

The arcana hotel is a beautiful and family friendly place. Starting from the Entrance, the hotel has an interesting and archaic look. We only were there for breakfast but it's restaurant has a variety of different food to offer, such as bacon and eggs, beans, sausages, cornflakes or different kinds of yogurt. What I liked is that they even had food for vegans which I have not seen that often. It was not the greatest variety of food but still there was something to eat for us, which also tasted good. The waitresses were friendly and helpful. What I did not like so much was that I waited over 10 minutes for a cacao but there were so many guests who visited, so I can understand why it happened. I cannot tell anything about the prices except for the parking tickets, which are very cheap (first hour for free and then 1 Euro every next hour) because the visit was a present and we had a voucher. Overall it was a nice experience and I would recommend the arcana hotel to everyone who likes a calm atmosphere and wants to have a nice stay with his family or friends.

It was OK ... They upgraded our room to a river-view because when we got there and walked into "our" room it hadn't been cleaned up from the previous guests. The front desk staff was very kind (and patient with my bad German) - The restaurant staff seemed to be indifferent. The room was clean, if bare of lots of amenities.

Room ok, carpet was old and dirty. No one here seems to have heard about corona. Even around the Buffett, most people didn’t wear masks, we were shocked how even the staff didn’t seem to care.

The carpets were somewhat dirty from previous guests and shower tends to pull out of bathroom:) but price/get ratio was excelent. Convenient balcony with view to other buildings' guests mouths :)

Staff were friendly and helpful. Because it was hot, I asked for a fan and I got a good,. large fan (the air ciditioning in room is wardless). When I ask something, I always got good information (about the area, shops, public transport, etc.). The room was good, perfect bad en good sanitary. Verry clean.

Getting a room for a short night turned out to be easy here, with the reception being open 24/7. :) Also, the river makes a beautiful sight and the room was clean and tidy.

I recommend this hotel only if it is a necessity and not for more than one night. The hotel seems to have 2 buildings a newer part and an older part. I got the room in the older part, maybe because I paid only 140 € and it was not possible in the newer part. The room is nice and clean, but the furniture is from the DDR era. The room also has an older smell. The staff is very kind and smiling. The breakfast is sufficient but not extra.

Rooms are outdated, dirty carpet floors, shower room water was running everywhere in toilet area, airconditioining was not working. Overpriced what you get for the money. Biggest plus was the italian restorant next to hotel.

This hotel is a good exemple of the delusions of Prussian Potsdam, a small capital of German province Brandenburg. After the high raising years of 90ies and the noxious prosperity years at beginning of the new century ... the covid crisis bring down all the tourist destinations. Now it's more normal location with regular prices. But the building itself is a very good example of combined old building structure with a very new high architecture standard. The location is very beautiful, directly at one of the beautiful river sides of Potsdam, you can find everywhere. It's nice for have a long morning walk or run. Also the world famous Sanssouci park is just a short 15min foot walking away. The city centre is also only 15min far with public transport. Nearby you can find serveral big supermarkets and just at the opposite building is a very busy Italian restaurant. All you need is fun!
