to
recommend
Mumbai
Dream
Tours
and
our
tour
guide
Dinesh
who
took
us
on
a
tour
of
the
Dharavi
slum
on
day
2
of
our
trip.
Dinesh
has
lived
in
the
slum
his
entire
life,
an
area
populated
by
over
1m
people.
We
saw
his
people
at
work
in
all
different
industries
from
plastics
recycling,
tanneries,
clothing
goods
and
pottery
and
Dinesh
showed
us
every
stage
of
each
industry
and
explained
the
whole
process
to
us.
We
saw
the
public
and
private
school,
the
gym,
the
shops
and
market
stalls
and
met
and
talked
with
the
local
people
living
and
working
in
this
city
within
a
city.
The
slum
is
not
what
I
expected
at
all.
People
are
happy
and
developing
their
skills
and
bettering
themselves
all
the
time.
The
value
of
the
industries
together
in
the
slum
produces
an
output
of
over
$1
billion
annually.
Yes
there
is
poverty
and
you
do
see
how
people
live
in
tight
spaces
but
people
are
not
complaining.
They
just
get
on
with
it.
There
is
no
crime,
the
streets
are
safe
and
the
people
in
the
slum
are
welcoming
and
friendly.
We
took
a
huge
bag
of
fruit
with
us
and
Dinesh
helped
us
to
identify
the
most
needy
people
in
the
slum
to
give
it
to
which
included
children,
the
disabled
and
the
elderly.
We
had
such
an
amazing
day
and
I’m
only
sorry
we
leave
today
and
will
not
have
time
to
do
Dinesh’s
Bollywood
tour.
Our
experience
of
Mumbai
has
been
amazing
and
very
memorable.
I
can’t
wait
to
come
back
to
India
and
experience
some
of
the
other
cities
in
this
truly
great
country.
