At
the
outset
I
must
say
that
neither
myself
nor
my
husband
are
huge
fans
of
the
usual
guided
walking
tours
mainly
because
we
hate
being
taken
to
cliched
and
crowded
tourist
hotspots,
listening
to
facts
straight
from
the
Wikipedia
page
and
jostling
for
space
with
other
tourists
just
to
return
sunburned
and
underwhelmed.
In
addition
we'd
already
spent
a
hectic
5
weeks
in
India
-
we
were
tired,
grumpy,
waiting
to
fly
back
home
and
not
at
all
looking
forward
to
our
last
4
days
in
Mumbai
at
all.
So
basically
when
our
travel
companions
insisted
we
book
a
tour
-
the
scene
was
set
for
disaster...
'Bombay
Walks'
single
handedly
turned
this
around
and
Mumbai
actually
turned
out
to
be
the
highlight
of
our
trip!
(Nope
this
is
not
a
sponsored
review
😂)
The
tour:
Arpan's
tour
extends
to
the
days
before
and
after
the
actual
tour
as
he
offers
valuable
advice
about
where
to
stay/eat/party/shop
etc.
He
speaks
perfect
English,
is
pleasant
and
very
easy
to
communicate
with.
His
passion
and
love
for
the
city
is
infectious
and
you
will
end
his
tour
enthralled,
overwhelmed
and
completely
charmed
by
Mumbai
and
it's
people
-
vowing
to
come
back
and
dig
deeper,
spend
longer
and
see
more.
The
city
tour
covers
many
facets
of
the
city
-
traveling
to
hidden
gems
and
local
landmarks
across
the
length
and
breadth
of
Mumbai.
You
get
to
see
and
experience
aspects
of
Mumbai
that
you'd
never
be
able
to
do
alone
with
a
guide
book
or
google
maps
-
like
traveling
on
local
trains
and
walking
through
Worli
fishing
village
and
stopping
by
at
small
off-the-beaten
path
temples
and
churches.
The
guide:
Arpan
is
reliable,
trustworthy
and
comes
well
prepared
for
the
type
of
group.
His
talking
style
is
light-hearted
and
easy
going
but
still
knowledgeable
and
always
engaging.
He's
the
type
of
guide
that
can
tell
you
interesting
facts
about
the
history,
architecture
and
politics
of
a
place
but
also
where
to
get
the
best
coconut
water
along
the
way
and
which
public
toilets
are
ok
to
use.
We
only
met
Arpan
in
person
on
the
day
of
the
tour
and
although
we
were
constantly
bombarded
with
sights,
sounds
and
smells
(it
is
Mumbai
after
all)
-
it
never
once
felt
like
we
were
just
being
dragged
from
point
to
point
whilst
he
rattled
off
information
but
rather
that
we
were
spending
the
day
walking
around
with
an
old
friend.
Target
travelers:
We're
fairly
well
travelled
and
yet
this
is
the
first
time
we've
ever
bothered
to
leave
a
tour
review
-
on
any
platform
-
I
think
that
in
itself
indicates
how
highly
we
recommend
this
tour.
This
is
really
a
'must
do'
in
Mumbai.
It's
so
good
we
would
do
this
tour
again
even
if
it
were
to
cover
the
exact
route
we
already
took.
The
walking
wasn't
particular
strenuous
so
it's
recommended
for
any
age
group
it
should
also
be
noted
that
we
found
that
Arpan
was
discreetly
always
conscious
of
where
the
group
members
were
and
their
safety
and
constantly
aware
of
our
surroundings
and
the
locals
around
us
-
on
that
note
I
would
recommend
this
tour
even
if
you're
a
single
female
traveling
alone.
When
to
do
it:
Try
and
do
this
tour
on
your
first
full
day
in
Mumbai
because
it's
also
a
great
way
to
orientate
yourself
around
the
city
and
plan
the
rest
of
your
time
there.
That
city
that
everyone
talks
about
-
that's
all
of
India's
many
faces
and
layers
in
one,
that
accepts
everyone,
that's
everyone's
home
-
regardless
of
language,
religion
or
creed
-
Mumbai
is
THAT
city
and
you'd
be
crazy
if
you
miss
the
opportunity
to
let
a
born-and-bred
local
guide
you
around...
