Excellent atmosphere and delicious food! Adequate portions and prices. The atmosphere takes you to another era and invites you to stay longer! The decoration of the whole place is well done. The hallways and bathrooms are also clean and well decorated and I loved the amount of detail! I would gladly eat here again!

Typically when I am in Prague I try to go exclusively to Czech style establishments but this time I'm checking out a few of the more touristy type places. James Dean is an American 1950s themed restaurant that was a great stop. It seems to fill up quick and is popular so if you don't have a reservation you might not get a seat! The atmosphere was definitely fun. The 1950s style was present everywhere in the decor, the menus, the waitresses, and even the music. Everything was upbeat and light hearted. The food was excellent. I ordered the Texas Burger with a whiskey sour and at the waitresses recommendation I had the chili mayo to dip the fries (awesome btw). An interesting touch is that they give you gloves to keep your hands clean while you eat your burger! The service was a little slow (I think they might have been a little understaffed) but you are getting a fun vibe and a great overall experience. I would definitely go again with some friends!

Went here for a birthday dinner and it was the most lovely experience. The interior is incredible with 50s style everywhere, even the bathrooms (which were very clean and smelled amazingly). Initially, I was worried about the few vegetarian options but the vegetarian burger was delicious. All of the staff were a delight, very friendly, and when we got the bill we were pleasantly surprised as we expected everything to cost a lot more after being there for over three hours. Would highly recommend!

Great spot close to the main square but a little further away to avoid the tourist hussle! Nice sitting outside in the sunshine but shaded by the veranda. Excellent efficient service by the waiting staff. Excellent cocktails and beautifully decorated beverages. Nice touches such as cutlery brought out on seperate plates with decent serviettes and condiments. Great food menu selection and separate drinks menus with a large variety to choose from. Beef soup was accompanied by a generous serve of quality fresh breads. Hand cut chips were ok but a good portion. Texas burger was very nice with the beef patty grilled medium. Quality produce, preparation and presentation. Reasonable prices overall. Recommend a visit.

James Dean Prague is a captivating venue in the heart of Prague that captures the timeless allure of the 1950s Hollywood era. With its retro decor, impressive cocktail menu, and attentive staff, it offers a unique and stylish experience. The cocktails are expertly crafted, and the ambiance is enhanced by occasional live music. Whether you're a James Dean enthusiast or simply looking for a sophisticated night out, this establishment seamlessly blends nostalgia and modernity, making it a must-visit destination in Prague.

A great spot to grab lunch with great portions, and USA imported Dr. Pepper. The decor was a nice touch with that true 50’s Americana feel. The staff were quick and attentive.

Very classically styled American diner. Staff is friendly and helpful. We had 2 burgers, one chicken and one beef. Both were really really good, juicy and full of flavor. Prices are acceptable considering the quality of the food. The cocktails were oke nothing amazing. They have a nightclub in the basement (no joke), seems like a cool place for a good time.

Sooo cool place! good music, good decoration. Also all the employees wear the 50's American clothing. If you order hamburgers, they bring you gloves so you don't get your hands so dirty… And best of all: finally real American food in Europe.

At James Dean Prague, my dining experience was a mixed bag of flavors and service. Opting for the waffles, I was greeted with a burst of sweetness that tantalized my taste buds. However, a drawback emerged as the waffles arrived slightly colder than expected. The accompanying chocolate and syrup, nonetheless, contributed positively to the overall taste. The milkshake proved to be a highlight, boasting a perfect consistency and flavor balance. Despite the culinary delights, the waitress seemed to be in a less-than-ideal mood, which subtly affected the overall ambiance. While I couldn’t pinpoint the exact reason for her demeanor, it did cast a slight shadow on an otherwise enjoyable meal. James Dean Prague stands out for its delectable waffles, delightful chocolate, and syrup, as well as a well-crafted milkshake. The minor setback with the temperature of the waffles and the subdued mood of the waitress somewhat tempered the overall dining experience. Nevertheless, if you’re craving sweet treats in a cozy atmosphere, James Dean Prague has much to offer.

People actually make reservations to eat here. It's got a retro cool diner vibe complete with juke box and *good* mostly 50s rock-n-roll music. The burgers are surprisingly good--better than most in the US for sure. If you're in this very nice area of Prague, this place is worth a try.

Amazing! Great food, beautiful atmosphere, very kind and helpful staff and the portions are huge! I recommend the milkshakes and burgers. Mac and cheese was okay but not cheesy enough, the fries are excellent, and the place became full around 12:30 so make a reservation in advance 😉 100% definitely recommend!

My mom and I were in this crazy beautiful restaurant two weeks ago but couldn't stop talking about it because the atmosphere and vibe were just immaculate. Especially if you're nostalgic and a big fan of James Dean or Marilyn Monroe - this is THE place to visit. We couldn't stop taking pictures because there are so many details to discover and explore. Thank you for the experience and the wonderful staff. The food was good as well! :)

Super delicious food and a colorfully retro 50s aesthetic! We loved our visit to James Dean Prague. We enjoyed delicious burgers and milkshakes. I highly recommend their vanilla milkshake! This is fantastically close to the “wax museum with a pulse” vibe of the fictional Jack Rabbit Slims from Pulp Fiction. If you’re in Prague and want “an American meal,” definitely visit James Dean Prague. Thank you to the super-friendly team! We absolutely loved the food and restaurant!

Free coffee refills; that's how you know it's an authentic american diner. The food was great and the service was spot on. It's a great vibe, easy to get some studying or work done after eating. Great music I must add. Everyone is really friendly. Will come back for lunch or dinner sometime soon.

If you are looking for a typical American style restaurant in Prague, look no further. This is the place to go. It’s not really my style to eat American food when travel in Europe. However, this place were conveniently located on our path to a further destination. so we stopped by and grab something light. Loved the historic photos and other items in the restaurant. Food was OK, we hadmuch better ones back in the states LOL. And the service was great., super friendly staff. Do recommend by @winedinenvacay

Really liked this place. We spent around an hour and a half here at night time and came back the next day for breakfast. Food and prices were spot on. Larger groups may need to book in advance

We have very good experience. The waitresses were very kind, the vibe of the place was very american. If you want to get an american night in heart of Prague, you have to visit this bar.

Cool place! The location is decorated exactly in the American style. The cappucino is very good, especially in a cold winter morning. The pancakes are ok, average quality. The employees are nice. I really liked their restaurant-themed uniforms.

Went 1 night to the club downstairs and it was busy with pretty decent vibe and music - very much catering to stag and hen with crazy drink tradition (there's a reason the smell of petrol hits you as soon as you walk in!) Another day we tried the 50s style diner restaurant, great decor and decent food, just wasn't blown away considering the cost compared to other places in the area.

  • 1/5 Ron C. 5 months ago on Google
Great to go in and look around but the food was nasty. Way undercooked and smelled weird - both the Big Chicken and the burger. Pretty expensive. The waitress was also very rude and unwilling to help with the food issue. Posting pics of interior so you don’t need to bother going in.

Amazing food - breakfast worthy of The King himself. Cool atmosphere, from the bar to the bathrooms to the music. The staff were also extremely pleasant ❤️

Awesome American style diner in Prague. The theme is super classic and the food as well. Everything inside is an homage to that golden era of America. At night it turns into a club which is easily one of the best I visited in Prague. Loved the American breakfast, simple, cheap, filling and hit the spot.

Had a pleasant lunch at his American, 50s themed diner. Tried both the classic burger and pastrami sandwich and, for the price, both were decent quality and good portion size. The Oreo milkshake was also rather tasty.

I loved the atmosphere in this restaurant. The food was delicious and we really felt like sitting somewhere in America. Would recommend booking a table.

An amazing American diner! They were able to find us a table even without a reservation. The waitresses are all very kind. The food is delicious and they're really fast: we ordered two milkshake, one plates of onion rings and a club sandwich to share, in 10 minutes everything was at the table. I have to say that the bathroom is very clean and incredibly decorated!

I was here with my boyfriend. His burger was quite good, but my Tuna Sandwich was a joke. I paid around 10€ for two pieces of white toast with raw tuna out of a can, some slices of egg, salad, onion and mayonnaise. The bread was barely toasted and the whole thing was cold and raw, but greasy without much taste. Like you’d imagine a sandwich from a gas station. The burger was fine, fries too, but taking over 250czk for that sandwich is simply ridiculous!

This was a fun experience. The staff is funny , properly dress. They do their best to create a dinner atmosphere. It’s quite a success. Food proportion is generous at a fair price.

The Rastaurant-Bar was really great! At the one side you can sit and eat and on the other side you can go downstairs to a „nightclub“ with really good cocktails and drinks! The music was at the beginning a lot of american classics and later good club music!

  • 5/5 Sacha K. 2 years ago on Google
We were expecting a nice place to lunch with a cool gimmick. We were surprised with the quality and quantity of the food and drinks! The milkshakes are excellent and the sandwiches very well done. It is also one of the cheaper places to lunch! The interior design deserves attention too, they truly went above and beyond with the presentation! From the music to the bathrooms, get your grub on!

My boyfriend has made a reservation for a window booth table but when we arrived the place was so crowded that we only had a table and a chair waiting us. The table was the most far from the windows possible and the employees had to ask to a large group if they wouldn't mind to give us a chair. The food was fine, not incredible. My 2 stars go to the nice decoration.

The place is great if your a fan of the old bars style in the 50s and 60s. The atmosphere is pleasant and the food and drinks were great, I thought it was a bit pricey but they have big portion food and you gonna eat every bite of it. The staff are welcoming and the waitress are so friendly and they all speak English. I loved the music and I enjoyed my time and I am going back there again.

The location of this place is great, walking distance from most of Old Town hotels. The prices are acceptable, given the location and given that the food portions are quite generouse! The food is fine. Yesterday I ordered ribs with Mexican beer, Deperados, and today I ordered Cesar's salad. They were pretty good. The setting, music, and ambiance are cheerful as the theme is American 60s, and the waitresses are all super pretty and ultra friendly. I was served by Goldie and Cindy. Very professional and welcoming. The weather was great, so I sat at an outside table and enjoyed the street view of the beautiful architecture and people strolling by. This is a place for all types of customers: families, couples, and single men and single women.

Friendly bartender, fun theme and decor. Lively atmosphere but not too loud.

  • 5/5 Pierpaolo B. 2 years ago on Google
It's a beautiful and welcoming place. Food is good and with generous portions. But the best is the place itself: it seems to live in '60!!! James Dean, Marylin Monroe. That's "Happy Days" for real! It' s perfect. Everything. You have to eat and sit there!

  • 5/5 Magdalena K. 2 years ago on Google
Everything is perfect. Starting from the interior design , nice waitresses and delicious food . We ate hamburgers , also vegan version and mac’n’cheese . But the best things are the shake’s in 50’s style.

26.10.2021 - After a long day, we wanted to get a late night dinner and decided to go to this bar. The furniture and decor made it quite comfortable. Our orders were served fast and the waitress seemed really nice, despite us being foreigners. The only thing I didn’t like was how low we were sitting; the chairs might be comfortable, but in comparison to the table not the right height for an average woman. Since I’m vegetarian, I was afraid that I couldn’t eat anything here - but they offer a nice variety of meatless things! I’d definitely go there again. :)

  • 3/5 L K. 1 year ago on Google
Slightly over priced for basic food. The food was OK and the milkshakes were fine. However, we noticed a male mber of staff being rude to the female staff which made our experience uncomfortable. I would rather spend the same money in a nice establishment that treated the staff with respect.
