Don't look for a different hostel. Especially if you're traveling alone and want to make some friends on your trip. This hostel feels like home as soon as you check in. It is small, which allows to you to socialize and get to know everyone. The hostel staff organizes different activities each day and bring you to places you would've missed otherwise.

TLDR: Best Hostel I've stayed in by far. (Book this place) This hostel is about as good as a hostel can get; on every level it's designed to fit your needs as a backpacker. The beds are large and comfy, with a ledge and a power socket specifically for you. Each person has their own bed curtain so people going about's do not disturb you. Built into thebunk beds are two massive lockable draws that slide out, so very easy access. You have so much personal space, both secure and easily accessible. Bathrooms are very large, spacious and clean; fitted with great shower heads. Every morning I was there the caretaker made baked goods for everyone in the hostel, free cereal and milk for everyone; and the family dinners are great (Shout out to Louie for making an amazing tomato soup with grilled cheese). They have a beer fridge which is done on a trust system, meaning just grab some beers from the fridge and pay your money into the jar. There's an array of great boardgames, like explodnig kittens, cards against humanity, codenames and also a wii. Super fun to just relax and chill with all the other awesome guests. If you do want to go out it's in an extremely central location, about 5 minutes walk from the charles bridge making it super easy to walk to anywhere in Prague. The staff are some of the friendliests people I've met on my travels, and all super fun to hang out with. Staying here is more like staying in a friend's place with 17 of your other friends coming and going.

Hands down by far the best hostel I have stayed at. Amazing rooms, clean and comfortable beds, lots of space for your stuff (if you dont have a lock they can provide you one!). Many amenities, free breakfast and cheap vegan dinners for like 100czk. Good staff and fun activities every single day. You'll go there alone but leave with new friends. Great location also. 10/10.

Asked to switch here from Madhouse before arriving and the staff sorted everything really smoothly for me. After I arrived, I was immediately amazed by the place. It’s in a gorgeous apartment literally 2 minutes from Charles Bridge, 5 minutes from Old Town square, and the actual hostel itself is phenomenal. It’s gorgeously decorated, with polaroid photos and bookshelves lining the walls – it has a ridiculously comfy couch in the common area accompanied by a huge TV, a kitchen I would be proud to have in my own house, huge beds with curtains, plugs and lights, enormous lockers under the bed – and air-conditioning (necessary this summer!) It is also pristine clean. The staff are exceptionally nice, offering advice and suggestions for everything. They even wrote a suggestions book for food, drink and activities for everyone to browse. Every morning they have prepared a new plan for the day, including what is served for their ‘family dinner’ (which costs about €3-4), what they are doing in the evening and what is happening around the city. Free pasta, rice, cereal, eggs, tea/coffee/hot chocolate and milk is available. They also sell bottled beers for about €1 each, and the cleaner bakes treats for everyone every morning. The family dinners are delicious and a great way to get people sat around the table chatting in the evening. One of the members of staff, Jenny, even introduced me to other people in the hostel as she was checking me in which I thought was a lovely touch. Of course, part of the experience was the group I hung out with which can never be guaranteed, but I think this place attracts a certain type of person. I would highly, highly recommend staying here and I cannot wait to return – even if I designed my own hostel with an unlimited budget, I couldn’t think of anything I’d change.

Hands down the best hostel I’ve been to! Great location, super clean, and lots of personal touches: free coffee/tea/hot chocolate/cereal/pasta, cheap dinner every night, honour-system beers, huge, comfy couches, tons of games, and lots of TV streaming services. Very social atmosphere, although you can also keep to yourself pretty easily. The beds are all really comfortable and private, with a plug, light, and fan. Lots of storage space and NICE bathrooms. But the best part was the amazing staff! They are so friendly and warm, and the check in process is designed so that you sit down with them and have a conversation over a cup of tea or coffee while you register, which is a really nice touch. Big shout out to Jenny, who was SO awesome, but everyone I met was great. I can’t recommend this place enough!

Had an amazing experience at the Roadhouse! The hostel only has 20 beds so it is much easier to socialize with people. It feels like a home away from home and the staff are incredibly friendly! Vegetarian dinners are organized each night (for about €5) and activities planned for the night with their sister hostel the madhouse (a party hostel). The location is perfect as its right in the centre and only minutes away from the charles bridge and the old town square. The dorms were clean with a massive locker space and I particularly enjoyed the privacy provided by the curtains. The bathrooms are also modern and clean however i wish there were more bathrooms as only 3 are available and sometimes you’ll need to wait. One thing to note is the hostel is 2 flights of stairs up so it may be a problem if you have mobility issues. I was on the top bunk which was also quite high. In summary, i highly recommend this hostel and if i revisit prague i will go back to the roadhouse for sure! TLDR: book this hostel now because its amazing!!

Rooms: big enough storage area for big luggage. The only con is no private room available. Service: the staffs are super nice and willing to help you. Also u can join their daily dinner to bond with other guests and staffs. Also u can join the daily activities if u want to meet other travelers as well as people from the madhouse as well. Location: 10 mins walk from Charles Bridge and easy to get to other sight scene within old Town. Overall this is my best hostel experience thus far

My first hostel and the best experience I have ever had. It was awesome crew. Really nice bathroom, bedroom, great bed. Everything is perfect. Music. Netflix. Vidéo game. Coffee tea. Milk. Pasta included. Première auberge de jeunesse. Ambiance familiale. Très propre et parfaire. Je recommande. . Julien .

Hands down the best hostel to stay when visiting Prague. I went hear a few years ago and it was amazing. The interior was beautiful and the staff were amazing. In my opinion the best place to stay. You get a home cooked dinner each might and then your host takes you out to party. They know the area and ask you what kind of place you’re looking for. The beers at the place are cheap and the food is great. The bedrooms are nice and the beds have a shade to close so you can sleep easy Ever since I went to this place I’ve always wanted to come back. You will not be disappointed.

Absolutely one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in! All of the staff were super kind, welcoming and helpful. Quite small so a very family like atmosphere with family dinners you can chip in for and organised pub and club nights after that! All bedrooms and facilities very modern and clean. Great place if you want to meet other travellers. Would highly recommend!

Feels like a chill house party every night. The group suppers are cheap and a great time! The bathrooms are also some of the best I’ve used. The staff are friendly and try to include people in fun activities. You get good privacy in the bunk beds and the largest amount of storage I’ve seen in a hostel. Only thing is that I wish the air conditioner was turned on more frequently. The top bunk can get hot.

This is by far the best Hostel I have stayed in my entire life! The rooms are spacious, massive locker room, free amenities (ear plugs, batteries, locks etc). Free breakfast and cheap dinner. They have social activities where they meet up with the sister hostel (madhouse) every night which allows you to meet new people. Highly recommended

Might be the best hostel I’ve ever been to. Cozy atmosphere, felt like I was at a friend’s place the entire time. If you’re into the party atmosphere, they have nightly activities that occur where you join up with the sister hostel. Otherwise, quiet hours start at 10pm and the beds/bathrooms are as comfortable as they get. Thank you to Jazz, Christian and the rest of the team!

They won best hostel in Europe a few years back for a reason. Best hostel experience I’ve had—all the small quality of life details were thought through. Exceedingly friendly staff that organizes family style dinners and social events. Very high up there in cleanliness for a hostel. Environment is very conducive to socializing with hostel mates.

Such an awesome time at the RoadHouse! From the moment I walked in, I felt super welcomed and comfortable as a solo traveler. It’s a cozy hostel and there’s not a ton of privacy aside from your bed but I would’ve booked an Airbnb if I didn’t want to meet other travelers. Chill nighttime activities like the barcade were exactly what I was looking for (at 31 I didn’t feel too old lol) but they do give you the option to go more wild if that’s your thing. Special shout-out to Jazz and Chris for taking us around and showing us the city at night.

The best hostel I’ve ever stayed at. Fantastic staff and draws in a social crowd. Great dinners for 100 koruna (around 4 euro/USD) and opportunities to go out every night. The beds were so comfortable, and I loved having a curtain for privacy. They had free cereal, oats and some bread around for snacks and breakfast, as well as affordable beer for purchase. There were board games and video games, which came in handy to play with hostel friends while the weather was poor or we wanted to rest.

This was by far the best hostel I stayed at. Nice staff, nice people, clean place, well located, good vibes, their family dinners are delicious. The hostel is chill but they offer you to join their sister party hostel at night to go out, which is perfect if you want to party but also have a good night of sleep. I'll definitely go back there next time I visit Prague!

This was my first time traveling alone and staying at a hostel, and I think it will be hard to top! Everyone was so nice, the place was clean, the beds were comfy, and the living room was cozy. The hostel is not too big which creates a very familiar environment. At night you can have dinner for only 100 czk. After that, you can join to go to a bar followed by a club, going out is with the sister hostel Madhouse. Being a female solo traveler, I never felt unsafe. I would definitely recommend!

  • 5/5 Howard P. 1 year ago on Google
Quite possibly the best hostel in the world. Perfect balance of great community with daily group dinners where everyone can get to know each other, then a nightly activity where you join up with another hostel. Bathrooms are clean, beds are comfortable, great location, amazing staff, delicious food - it has everything.

Roadhouse provided me one of the most wonderful travel experiences of my life - NOT just for a hostel. Staff are exceptionally kind and accommodating, and it seems Roadhouse simply attracts a certain type of (lovely) person. I’m “old” for hostel life (33F) and needed a place to both work comfortably as a digital nomad and hopefully meet fellow travelers…and this hostel delivered both way beyond my wildest expectations. It is quiet during the day (and super clean always) if you need to get some work done. Nightly homemade family dinners are exceptional and unique - every staffer seems to be quite the talented home chef! There are nightly activities with the sister hostel, Madhouse, so you can enjoy the party scene without having to stay at the “party hostel.” I truly have over a dozen new friends for life; it’s been 4 weeks since my stay, and I still refuse to take my RoadHouse bracelet off. 😅😀 One more thing: if you are lucky enough to meet Robert, the hostel manager, he is, and I quote, “like a hug in human form.“ (Can’t take credit for that – another hostel-goer said this, lol.) One of the most genuinely wonderful people I’ve ever met who absolutely adores Prague and is passionate about helping travelers experience the city in an unforgettable, non-touristy way - which I def did thanks to him (and everyone else at Roadhouse.) THANK YOU Roadhouse Family! CANNOT WAIT to return and enjoy your incredible hospitality once again.

This is the BEST hostel you can stay in Prague. In fact, it is by far the number one hostel on my 3 month journey across Europe. It’s spotless clean, at the heart of old town near every tourist attraction, with the kindest staff taking care of you. When you have been traveling for so long, the Roadhouse provides exactly what your soul needs, a sense of home. You will meet the most interesting people, and will make friends for life. They offer delicious homemade dinners for a cheap price, and nightlife activities every day of the week. You’ll always have something fun to do. The beds were magnificent, with a huge luggage storage, and the shower pressure exactly what you need when getting there tired at night! No score can rank how well managed, valuable, and overall superb this hostel is. You must experience it on your own and see. What a gem!

Best Hostel in Prague. The hosts are amazing. Every night people can join for dinner with a 100crowns charge. The dinner is vegetarian/vegan and very yummy. Every night after dinner there usually an event organised by the hosts. Sometimes it’s a pub crawl and sometimes Bowling.

I cannot imagine a better hostel. They have a 10/10 rating on hostelworld. Friendly staff, free tea and coffee, daily dinner that is very cheap and home made, daily activities etc. A home away from home!

within 30 minutes after entering I already knew 5 stars would not be enough. The people who work here are great and it feels like home. You share your rooms, but curtains give you privacy. I will really miss the atmosphere, hosts and some other guests I met, now that I'm home. The space is really clean and well kept and the hosts organize great trips to local bars and clubs, but there is absolutely no pressure to go if you would like a more quiet vacation without too much partying. there is not really anything negative to say, I really want to come back here.

  • 5/5 Robert B. 1 year ago on Google
The most hospitable staff and chill vibes can be found at this hostel. The staff always were happy to have a chat and meeting other guests during the nightly outings (arranged by the Hostel) was a pleasure.

Can’t recommend this hostel highly enough. It does feel like coming back home with a warm and cosy atmosphere. It’s also a nice place meet new friends. The staff is great at accommodating everyone’s needs, they help you avoid turist traps, make recommendations and also have things prepared for making a tasty family dinner experience which is a good bonding moment for people before going out and experiencing the city’s night life. As it was said at the 10th aniversary while I was there, the founders Rod and Kraig really did create something special. Will definitely be going back there when I visit Prague again.

Best hostel we’ve stayed at in Europe so far. It’s basically a fancy apartment. Clean bathrooms, comfortable beds, little AC units, individual fans for everyone, lights and shelves in each bunk, great location! LOVED the family dinners every night for only 100 czk per person! Then fun activities for socializing every night too! Great selection of games. Amazing kitchen. Only cons: -can be hard to find at first -beds only have one plug so you have to pick between charging your phone and using your personal fan -you have to go up 2 flights of a spiral staircase -they close the balcony at 9:30pm -the AC unit in my room was blocking my locker drawer so i couldn’t open it all the way and I had to share a locker with my friend -hand towels in the bathroom weren’t replaced the whole time we were there and we stayed for 4 days.. yuck lol

The best hostel I've ever stayed in, no question. The rooms are great, the showers are fantastic, the kitchen and communal space is lovely. You can get a cheap beer from the fridge all the time. But not only that, the vibe is impeccable. The evening dinners are delicious and bring people together, and then every evening there's an activity you can do, often joined with the sister party hostel. When I was there it was drunk bowling one night, then karaoke the next. Both nights there was the option to go out to a club too. My only regret is not staying longer!

  • 5/5 Victor M. 1 year ago on Google
I think the rating is well deserved ! If you want to experience Prague the best way possible, this hostel is for you. Kitchen amenities, dinners, planned activities and the wonderful possibility to meet new people in the best environment available. Big shout-out also to all the workers, they're all very nice and helpful people

This is by far the best hostel I’ve stayed at. Very clean across the board, friendly staff and guests, great showers, amazing location. I would definitely return my next visit!!

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in. It’s a perfect location right next to the river and short walk to main attractions. The daily family dinners are super social and cheap, all the activities are well organised. Great place for solo travellers! There’s a laundry service for a small price and the bathroom/shower facilities are one of the best I’ve used! The only thing would be the room was really hot at night as the air conditioner is turned off, so the top bunk gets a bit hot in the night. Other than that this place was a 10/10! Hot tip - bring small notes of cash as it’s cash only (with no change) at the hostel for dinner, beer and activities

Are you considering stay in Prague? At the road house? What type of question is that. Hurry up and book. The roadhouse is by far the best hostel I’ve ever been to. Hell, it even beats some hotels I’ve stayed at. The team are amazing and make you feel at home. They go out of their way to help you and make you feel welcome. The place is immaculately clean and is cleaned constantly, the beds are some of the best beds I’ve ever slept in and the pillow (don’t even get me started- I slept 22 hours one night). The road house should be illegal, it’s that good. Book while you can.

Everything you could want in a hostel experience. They have dinner and events every night making for that ideal, community hostel experience. Location is excellent, staff is really cool and helpful, bathrooms/showers were good, no complaints. They have a laundry service available as well. Also check out the Donuterie a street over for like the best donuts in Europe if you're in the area.

I normally wait until the end of my stay to write a review but felt it’s appropriate to do it in this case. I’m not an expert at the hostel industry but I have stayed in luxurious hotels, resorts airbnbs etc. This hostel is so much more than bed to sleep in. We eat home cooked dinners like a family every day, participate in well organized activities at night, comfy beds, extremely clean and organized, great food and sightseeing information readily available etc. The owner and the whole staff is kind, knowledgeable, hospitable etc. An extra shoutout to staff member Jazz who has gone above and beyond any of her duties to help me while I recover recover from the Flu. Thanks for the amazing Tea Jazz. Thank you for making me feel at home.

If you want the best Hostel in Prague, you have 2 choices depending on your style - Here or it's sister The Madhouse. You check in as a guest, and leave as family if want very easily. Europe likes their staircases and cobblestones, and have found it is easier to embrace than complain. The location is mint, and feels like a home with the amenities. Enjoy, I have and will be back!!!

Undoubtedly one of the best hostels you will ever experience. Location is ideal, rooms and bathrooms are spotless, beds are super comfy and large enough so that 180+ cm people can sleep properly (which is rare enough to be noted!). All members of staff are lovely and helpful. They know Prague very well and will never run out of advice to help you make the most of your stay.

We booked this hostel at quite short notice for a weekend in October and I can easily say it is the best hostel I've stayed in. All of the staff were approachable, friendly and really helpful. The standard of the rooms is great, you have a good size bed with a curtain and power point, and a large storage locker each under the bottom bunk. When you see 'shared dorm' in a lot of places it can be hit and miss - these are spacious and very comfortable. We initially arrived at about 6pm and once oriented were invited to sit down with the rest of the residents for a family dinner. The effort our hosts went to, to make everyone's stay fun and engaging was really impressive. It felt more like staying round a friends house. Our hats off to Kraig and his team for such a fun, hassle free, and highly recommended time in Prague.

Brilliant little cozy hostel with an absolutely amazing staff and management bent on making most of your experience.Everything from cleanliness to the attitude of the staff to their enthusiasm in helping the guest making the most of their time to the cakes/pancakes baked by the cleaning lady was just great! My only minor issue is with the pricing but to be honest I can ignore that with the experience that I had. Will instantly stay here the next time I am in Prague for a solo trip.

I can't imagine a better way to travel than staying in a hostel like this. Everything is organised in the most thoughtful way and the staff is super friendly. Great vibe, very chill, zero awkwardness. You get a free beer, milk, eggs and cereals, plus Netflix and video games and they organise dinners, evening activities and nights out. Beware - things are so nice you might develop a crush and consider revaluating your life plans.

Absolutely loved staying in The RoadHouse! It's a small hostel space, which makes meeting people really easy, especially if you are travelling alone as I was. The staff is incredibly friendly and will assist you in any way you need, from planning trips to chatting about your day. They truly made you feel like you were a part of a small family. Every night they also organize events, which ususally consists of dinner and then going out to meet the others over at the MadHouse Hostel. From there you go on to a different location each time, usually a place to grab a beer and have a chat and if you want to stay out late, they'll even take you clubbing if you want. It's a great way to eat a cheap, but good meal and socialize, whilst also experiencing Prague at night. And after all of that, you come 'home' to a nice and more quiet hostel, to get a good nights sleep. The amenities of the hostel are also great! The bathroom was really clean and modern and the showers fantastastic, the beds were sturdy and equiped with blackoutcurtains and lights and the top bunks even had a small fan installed. You got your own towel and storage space, one large roll-out space big enough for all your stuff and one area to hang your towel and put your toiletries. They don't offer breakfast, but they do always have some cornflakes or cocoapuffs available for you if you want, as well as some other food, like pasta, in the guest fridge. All in all, couldn't recommend it more. The RoadHouse is really charming, the ameneties are great and the staff fantasic. A great place to meet fellow travelers. Would love to come again!

Best hostel I have stayed. Super clean, well presented and has everything I needed. It's a bit hard to find but that's not something that should detract from the place. It's in a prime location that's far enough away from the centre but close enough. The only and I mean absolute only down side to the place is the draws under the bed where you lock you things. They get in the way when you have it open they are huge though and I doubt anyone would have any trouble fitting all their belongings.

What a beautiful experience - the moment you walk through the door, you feel like you're returning to a mates place. The staff go above and beyond, the place is immaculately clean, and it's the perfect space to get to know fellow travellers. A few other beautiful touches include daily family meals, rain showers, free pasta, eggs, cornflakes, milk etc! The place really is designed around abundance! I'll definitely be coming back :)

Most amazing hostel ever! Cleaner than some hotel rooms, beautifully designed and well kept. A wonderful family atmosphere made by a staff who clearly care a lot about the people who stay here and want everyone to have the best time possible. A must-book!

I haven’t stayed at this hostel yet, but I’ve been in contact with the manager via email for a blog article. She was super friendly and helpful. They not only care about their guests but also about other queries. Can’t wait to see the hostel live. - Your fan, Kevin

Stayed over Christmas week (December 22-December 27) and had an amazing time. These guys work their butts off to make sure you have tons of fun and feel very welcome and at home. Absolutely loved this place. 💕

This was my first solo trip, and i loved it. The crew of the Roadhouse was amazing, everything was clean and the beds comfortable. Location was great, just some minutes away from the main attractions but in a quiet area. The atmosphere was friendly and cozy. The activities organized by the crew and the optional dinners for around 4 € were great. Every morning there were some fresh baked goods, and a small breakfast (Cornflakes, coffee, milk,...) was included in the price. The amenities in the living room were more than sufficient. Overall i would recommend this Hostel to everyone who is looking for an relaxed atmosphere, and who wants to feel like getting home after a day of exploring Prague.

(Translated by Google) Incredible hostel, unbeatable location, the best and most comfortable facilities ... but the best of all is its staff ... I would always return. (Original) Increíble hostel, inmejorable ubicación, las mejores y mas comodas instalaciones... pero lo mejor de todo es su staff... Volvería siempre.

Now, I know why RoadHouse Prague got the award of the best hostel in the world. We spent 4 beautiful days in the Hostel, everything is perfect and clean. The staff is very nice, a dinner is organized everynight and after we go on parties outside all together. Thank you again for this amazing time we spent in Prague !

I really liked my stay and already miss the roadhouse ! It's really easy to meet people, because the place is like an apartment and they have family diner every evening (always amazing taste) and an activity every evening. The beds are super comfortable and there is a curtain so you have your privacy. The staff is really nice and Charlie was great with recommending stuff ! Would come back !

Awesome friendly hostel, family dinner every night (sometimes GF/vego options) after 8pm then people that want to head to a bar around 930pm. Always someone to chat to if you feel like hanging around, excellent staff that help with anything and are just cool people. Netflix and board games, professionally cleaner (who also bakes treats). Only downside is only 3 bathrooms and not the most private sometimes you have to wait. Each bed has its own curtain and a large storage drawer, would definitely stay here again!!

I do plenty of solo trips and this one will always stand out because of the incredible time I had at RoadHouse! The hostel itself was exceptionally homey and clean (incl spotless bathrooms and kitchen!), in a great, central location, with a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. The staff were just amazing, and hell, I gotta thank all of them- from Jenny and Kraig to Lewis, Flora, Havard, Charlie and Dave- THANK YOU! You guys are all awesome, kind people and were so fun to hang out with. No one ever felt left out or at a loose end at RoadHouse. The staff are also super knowledgeable about Prague and can advise you on things to do/see and any events that are taking place in the city. This place is perfect for solo travellers, couples, and/or small groups as the evening activities as super versatile so if you're looking for a delicious (and cheap) family dinner and a movie, or some great company with beers before heading out to party, RoadHouse doesn't disappoint. The beds are also super comfy with curtains and bedside lights so it's easy to have an early night. Couldn't recommend it more! So much love to the RoadHouse crew!

The best hostel I've ever stayed at--hands down. Place is super clean, comfortable, and homey. However, it's really the people here that make it so exceptionable. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful, and the other guests were awesome. Staying here made my time in Prague very memorable. 11/10

One of the best hostel i made, good beds, spacious lockers that can store an entire backpack, big kitchen, games, ability to buy beers and overall one diner with all the travellers (100CZ) and a different party organized every night. Just perfect.

Best Hostel in Prague! Super central, modern and cozy. It is not a party hostel rather social and chilled vibe. very clean, amazing beds, best kitchen und bathrooms ever, free cake every morning. Staff was super friendly and helpful as well, could not recommend more!

By far the nicest hostel I've stayed in! Intimate, social atmosphere and they host a homemade dinner every night for only 100 crowns. Highly recommend for your stay in Prague!

(Translated by Google) As I'm not sure, I'm going to write mine in French to enlighten my French fellow-citizens. Hopefully the automatic translation is not going to be that bad ... Superb hostel, very family, it feels like home. I absolutely recommend it and it's not my first time in Hostel! The founders Kraig and Rod not to mention Jenny and the other staff members are just awesome! Thank you! You wanted to create a Perfect Hostel, you have it :)) In addition: Free breakfast (modest), free coffee and tea, large locker to put your stuff, not too crowded (about 25 people), different evenings every night, curtains in bed, a common room and WiFi (non-exhaustive list)! An extra place, keep it that way! Ced. (Original) As I'm not sure whether there are French reviews of this hostel, I'm going to write mine in French to enlighten my French fellow-citizens. Hopefully the automatic English translation is not going to be that bad...
