With us, 20 selfies fail, Honza can create a beautiful photowork of art with 1 click with a 200 years old camera. Honza takes plenty of time to take a good photo. He explains the entire process to you and takes the time to highlight the details. We are amazed by the details, patience and work of Honza. It's definitely worth your money! We are happy with our photoplate and prints. Highly recommended!

A beautiful, one of a kind experience! Honza is an amazing photographer dealing with an ancient technique to give us an unforgettable image made on a aluminium board. Besides that image he gave us a special memory within our prague visit. Honza is a very kind and calm person who is also interested in your own ideas to bring an image to life. We could not be happier as our way crossed yours. Take care and hopefully we will see us again!

Experience the magic of the darkroom with Honza. He lets you observe the entire process and in addition to having your portrait made you can purchase original photographs he has made of Prague as well.

Wow! It's going to be difficult to explain enough in a <relatively> short review how awesome our experience with Honza was. As is seemingly common, we stumbled upon Honza's studio entirely by accident. We ate dinner at Saint Martin restaurant (I'll work on a review of that later, also 5 stars!) one evening after a day of exploring the Castle area. My wife, a photographer, noticed some wet plate photos in the restaurant and commented on how much she loved them. Finished with dinner, we began walking to the tram stop. We hadn't made it a hundred meters when my wife started dragging me across the street. She saw the photos in Honza's studio window and recognized them as being the same as in the restaurant. We began chatting with Honza and geeking out over his process and artistic prowess. Long story short, we made an appointment the next day to get our photos taken. It ended up being close to an all day affair- a totally unexpected and amazing day in Prague. We highly recommned at least stopping by Honza's shop, even if you don't have your portrait made. He is an excellent conversationist and we really enjoyed chatting with him about photography, Prague, the Czech Republic, Europe, and life in general. You won't regret it!

We had our picture taken by Honza and it was such a lovely moment. It's a fascinating process and Honza is the most passionate and creative person we've met. He guided us really well through the whole process and this picture is the best one of us we've ever seen. This beautiful memory will stay with us, and it's not just about the picture: it's also about this whole moment. Thank you again, Honza !

He is very warm and friendly and the art he produces is spectacular! It is a truly unique and magical experience to see the photograph develop before your eyes. Knowing that the end product will survive without degrading for centuries to come is amazing as well! You can pass these photos down in your family for generations, but they also just look great hanging in your home today!

On our trip to Prague, we were lucky to meet Honza in his photo studio. It was an amazing experience with beautiful tintype portraits at the end. Honza is a true artist. With a lot of passion and love for photography, he showed us all the steps of making our portrait plates with a technique that is more than a hundred years old. We experienced the whole process from the beginning to the magic moment. Thank you Honza for that great afternoon in Prague

Honza is so attentive and kind. He understands that going to get the photo taken this unique way requires a walk through of the process. So he breaks it down for non-photographers by explaining the history behind this process and then showing us the process from A-Z how it is completed. It was a beautiful walk from our hotel to get to him as well and was a truly authentic Czech experience. Highly recommend!

We found the studio by chance... it was really close to our hotel. Honza is master and extremely pleasant ... our portrait experience was amazing. Studio is small but nevertheless atmosphere was great during the whole process. The portrait was our only souvenir from Prague! 10 out of 10 .... would do it again when visiting Prague!

This is such a unique experience that I doubt anyone can experience anywhere else on earth. Honza is clearly talented, passionate and is keeping a beautiful art form alive. The photos you get are such beautiful mementos and I think it is totally worth an hour of your time to pass by this little intimate studio if you are in Prague.

Honza is a true artist! He has beautiful digital prints as well as tintype portraits, shot directly on aluminum plates. He cares about every detail in his photography process, and will walk you through every step if you are curious. He is kind and very easy to work with. His portraits are striking, very personal, and a work of art. If you want a unique gift that will last generations (tintype photographs can last hundreds of years), I highly recommend visiting his shop.

It’s like going back in times, the charm of taking picture by old camera in a small cozy studio in the heart of Little Town (Mala Strana) is amazing experience, and the final portrait is so spiritual and beautiful. Thank you!

We had a great photo experience at Fotograf na plech. Honza was extremely nice, answered every nosy question we had, explained the procedure, which was fascinating and last but not least topped the experience with a unique Tintype picture plus great prints. A wonderful shooting we'll never forget.

Honza is great artist and professional. He taught me about his craft, let me watch the process, and created a finished product that I'm very pleased with. His studio is also an interesting space, accessible and easy to find. He's clearly a talented man who puts a lot of time and effort into his art. I recommend him to everyone and will certainly contact him again in the future the next time I want a portrait done.

We entered Fotograf na Plech spontaneously while walking around Prague. Our attention was drawn to beautiful, artistic photos from the street shop window and we felt that we would like to have similar ones as well. Honza - the photographer professionally told us about the nineteenth century equipment, and then guided us through the entire process of creating photography. While posing, Honza took care of our comfort and good atmosphere (it is crucial). I recommend this whole experience, because apart from the fact that we have a unique photo, a great souvenir from Prague, we also took a piece of new knowledge and good memories ♥ ️

We had a great time with an great artist teaching us how his kind of fotography works. And we love the outcome of our session with him. Don't miss this experience while you stay in Prague. We will come back for sure. 🌻

Very intimate and unique experience. Honza is a true creative and will always go the extra mile to make sure the craft is up to his personal standards. Learning the process from beginning to end and being able to ask questions makes it more of a workshop. its not your old fashion portrait studio and he is up for getting creative and will accept a challenge. My wife and I were there between Christmas and New Years, it was cold and we didn't put too much planning into the trip. When we passed the studio we saw Honza in action at 10pm I knew we needed to look into it. Went home sent an email and by midnight we had a time booked the next day to come in. Best part of the trip really we ended up spending a half day hanging out in the studio. Highly recommned

A great experience. Friendly and sensitive, Honza is passionate about his work. You can feel it in the way he talks and arranges the photo to make it as representative of the person as possible. It was like going in a time machine and being back to working as it was in the past. If you are interested in photography, you definitely should visit his place.

Such a unique and fun experience! Honza was so kind and is incredibly talented. It was so fascinating to watch him work through the whole process start to finish, it really is a true art form. A genuinely special moment I'm glad I got to experience and I thoroughly encourage everyone to go and get a portrait done, I don't think I'll ever get a better photo of myself! Thanks again Honza! (:
