Not so good this time. It's beginning to look a bit worn & tired inside now and there were a few things not quite right I thought. No condiments other than salt, pepper, brown sauce. Surely a trip to ALDI over the road could have sorted that. Staff did apologise though. I tried 3 sanitisers, all empty. Either fill them or just remove them. Table number missing so asked diners next to me for theirs which confused server a little. Again, staff did apologise but why not just implement a quick solution to the problem. I'm not a fussy eater but my burger pates were clearly overcooked and as a result quite dry. I just ate them anyway as I don't like waste. Rest of food okay, decent value, generally clean and friendly environment and staff pleasant enough. But I can only hope that 'spoons are waiting for the roadworks chaos in Preston to be over and then they will give this once decent pub the makeover it, and it's customers, deserve🤞

If I can give zero rate, I will give zero rate. Dropped this morning and wanted to get two egg and sausage muffin. unfortunately, a man look like manager told my husband they don't have toast. I approached them again and was told that can't change muffin to toast or need to pay more than £4 for two if wants to change. It is ridiculous prices. On the menu, it didn't say can't change or pay to change. I don't think muffin cost expensive than toast. Their staff very friendly and helpful however their managers treat their customers quite a bad way and no smile as well. We are regularly customers and never treat like that way. I won't recommend this branch. So terrible.

One day I'll have my breakfast served on a hot plate and all items on the plate will be of a similar temperature.

Not been here or in a Wetherspoon's for a while & doubt I will go again any time soon. Red hot day, visited for lunch, it wasn't too busy but I had to ask for the table to be cleaned, the menu's on the table were filthy and greasy to touch. Upon ordering there were several items not available - I managed to order the last Mediterranean salad at 12:17! Toilets were not the best in cleanliness and half of the locks were broken. The only positive was that we had a seat indoors out of the heat.

After a disappointing visit to the Old Black Bull we walked across the road to this Spoons. A very typical large Spoons. Had a pint of Ruddles for £1.77 less a 50p CAMRA members voucher..a pint for £1.27 in 2023! It is what it is. Love Spoons or not, value is second to none. (Entrance to a top division footie match was about 2- 3 pints worth 50 years ago....try and get in now for £8 to £15. Ha..no chance.)

Large group meet here, busy all day, but tables/seating available. Lovely relaxing atmosphere, you could hear your conversations, great cheap drinks, & hot drinks, friendly staff, good location..only Negative was there was no disabled entry/ ramp, one colleague was disabled on crutches, had to use a number of steps to gain entry at front of house, Sort This Out Please! ACCESS FOR ALL 🙂

Prices are cheap enough but I still want some filling in my panini. £4.55 with a cup of tea which would have been ok if the panini had a decent amount of filling. Chips were an additional cost. My wife had the ham and cheese panini which was more substantial.

This was a fantastic pub to go for a drink at, with a classic design including book shelves at the walls! The counter is well-presented, staff were friendly and I enjoyed a bottle of Sol. Seating is comfortable, cleanliness had been maintained and it has a large area!

What can I say that hasn't been said by others? It the most popular place for a great selection of food and drink (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) . Tea, coffee and hot chocolate (free refills). There is nothing bad that can said about the friars, others strive, the friars achieves. Well done to managers and all the staff. A very safe night out.

Wetherspoons have a reputation for being cheap and cheerful, I won’t comment on the prices but this experience was so poor. First of all, our table was covered in salt, dirty and there were no staff walking about to inform and ask for it to be cleaned so we took it upon ourselves to clean the table. Put our order in, wait for drinks was a while, food eventually came and half of it was cold. You don’t expect the works or the food to taste spectacular but you at least expect it to be hot. The cutlery was also dirty. I do acknowledge we probably could have had something done about it and I imagine the staff would’ve been apologetic but once again, there were no staff to inform and I didn’t feel like going up to the bar to complain. I wouldn’t say they’re understaffed but they should at least have someone walking around. Easy go-to, but we’ll now be finding a new go-to when we come to Preston.

Ordered mashed avocado muffin with poached egg and maple cured bacon with no onion. Had to pick it out myself (not the issue tho) Bacon very cold and tasteless, had the same breakfast at the chorley one and it was really good. Disappointed. Fairly priced and quick

Large weatherspoons that has a central city location, 10 mins from train station. Usual selection of drinks offering, but food quality is not great. Interior is looking tired and needs an upgrade. Twelve tellers weatherspoons in the city is newer and has a better feel.

I love coming here once a week, the food is great and the price is good too plus I recently got the Christmas exclusive burger which was incredible and I cannot stop thinking about it. Also the atmosphere is unrivalled it's so chill and friendly. Overall I love it here and will come at any given opportunity. Although post script, there was a crazy lady here one time but that was only once and I'm sure I've been here at least 50+ times. Also also the 3plates for 12pounds is perfect for two, a pizza each and a bowl of chips and then get some drinks and your good to go.

Can't complain about food and drink, decent for the prices. Cozy enough place. Could do with actual pizza cutters. Wheelchair accessible entrance in theory but always have to send someone in to open the side door as the assistance buzzer either doesn't work or is ignored.

Decent pub with a good range of beers. Staff are friendly and getting served is easy.

Lovely to see the Steak & Kidney back on the menu. (& the bangers-&- mash w peas & gravy). I saw it & just had to try it!! It is as nice as I'd rembered. I had it with chips & they were perfectly cooked! Though on a personal note didn't like the Kombacha Raspberry Lemonade at all, but that is a personal preference & I'm pleased the soft drink menu is as extensive as it is.

Argyle on tour! The night before! A tour of Preston has brought me to another "Spoons". Huge great pub, pretty soulless. Curry night Thursday so had Chicken Jalfrezi. Greasy poppadoms and dried up rice and a soggy Naan!! Not up to the usual standards....poor show. I have had many curries in hundreds of "spoons" across the Country. This was the worst....!!

Been in a couple of times and it was really busy even on weekday afternoons. They seemed to be selling a lot of meals often burger and chips which looked good. They sell a nice selection of beers which are of a good standard and also the cheapest I have found in Preston. They even sold a Christmas themed beer which I had been unable to find anywhere else. Both the toilets and main area were clean and continually maintained. The Grey Friar gave me the impression it is a fairly safe place to visit it is hard to imagine fights breaking out in there.

Like most customers I expect the draw is the cheaper prices as opposed to the atmosphere. The range of beers is usually ok although they could do with a few more interesting craft style options at times. Strangely the last few times I’ve been in have been busier at tea time than sat at 11pm on a Friday or Saturday. Most clientele are at the older end of the age range from my experience if that kind of thing matters to you.

Came here purely to have a nice relaxing drink after a long day around Preston & enjoyed the Real Ales on tap. I've been to this Wetherspoon's before & is by far, better than the other one in Preston.

Staff were friendly enough, the whole place could have done with a clean, our table was filthy and we had to ask a member of staff to come and give it a wipe. Food and drink was nice enough. No major complaints, an alright place to grab some decent-ish food.

The overall cleanliness was sadly unsatisfactory, dirty tables when we arrived, the toilets had dirty seats that need to be replaced. The carpets are faded and damaged in places and need replacing. However I cannot fault the service of the staff: very friendly and professional, the gentleman whom I asked to clean our table did so with a smile. If Wetherspoons would consider giving this establishment a refresh, it would instantly become more welcoming to customers and provide a place for the staff to take great pride in working.

Another great Wetherspoons pub were you can get good food and drink at very good prices. The staff are always very helpful and friendly, it is no wonder that they are always busy. Most pubs charge too much and seem surprised that they are empty most of the time. There is a handy car park just across the road.

Food good, staff friendly, but tables not cleared away meaning eating and drinking surrounded by previous occupants glasses and food remains. Therefore 1 star removed
