The biggest and most interesting sight in Breda! The church is huge and sometimes it is light up in the evening. Also, the busiest streets and bars are located around it. It marks the centre of Breda and it is a must-see sight.

(Translated by Google) The rule is that everyone keeps 1.5 meters away. When I go abroad I always visit churches, I am very interested in the architectural buildings especially churches. Breda's Great Church is certainly one of the top of my list. In this grave (see the painting by Johannes Bosboom below) lies: Engelbrecht II of Nassau, Count of Nassau-Dillenburg-Dietz, Lord of Breda, etc. Born in Breda on May 17, 1451 and died in Brussels on May 31, 1504 The original painting (1487) is in the Rijksmuseum. Cozy streets are around it, visiting the city of Breda is definitely worth it.

A church in the heart of Breda, it shows remarkable architecture with sealing paintings which are heavenly, and makes you forget about the world outside these holy walls... really a must see while visiting Breda

Guided tours are given and you can climb the tower. I have only seen the outside. (Original) Onze Lieve Vrouwekerk in centrum Breda. Imposant gebouw.

You can visit the church for free. The tower is 7.5EUR/person and it’s only for max 16 people at once. It’s a guided tour (in Dutch ) and you can go at 14:00 or 15:00. Tickets are available on site ( you have to scan them before the tour) or online .

Sometimes it is worth watching the other guests. Loved the fake tree. The view from 87m over the park is amazing. The 200+ steps a bit scary!. Seeing the van Gogh's sunny picture s make me happy. Only seen half of the garden of statues. You need more than a full day to see it all.

Warmly recommend for a trip with a bit of education. Admire the beauty of the contemporary art, relax in the park, have a lovely coffee... the guided tours are possible to order, too. Very informative, the guide could answer all questions and brought up a lot of interesting facts and anecdotes. Definitely worth visiting and spending (at least) a day.

All round amazing experience. Borrowed bike to cycle through parkland. Sculpture garden to die for. Beautiful building. To be that close to that many Van Gogh paintings takes your breath away. The range of art on display means around every corner is a gasp.

Great museum. Both for kids and adults. Outside statue park is amazing. Some construction going on but inevitable to keep things in shape. Very peaceful and inspiring.

Totally unknown of, totally unexpected, totally awesome. A museum to visit and to enjoy. Among other must-sees, the second largest collection of Van Gogh paintings? Can't be missed! And the Garden is spectacular too. The restaurant-cafeteria inside the museum offers delicious food in a very relaxing and airy open space. Thank you!

(Translated by Google) A wonderful museum that is a little far from Amsterdam but worth the visit. You can also take pictures. I stayed at a nearby hotel and came to see it first the next morning. Van Gogh, who sees it for the first time, is powerful, delicate, lively and ephemeral. It was very nice. If you come to Holland, this is the place you want to see.

(Translated by Google) Combine parts of modern art with a good collection of Van Gogh paintings. It is worth going to visit it. Of course, in addition to the museum entrance, you have to pay another 10 euros to enter the nature reserve in which it is located, and there is no way to get to the museum if it is not by paying the entrance to the nature reserve. At least when I bought the ticket I didn't see any warning message.

The Kröller-Müller Museum with works of Van Gogh, Monet, Seurat, Renoir, Picasso en Mondriaan and an impressive sculpture garden, located in Hoge Veluwe National Park is an absolute must see! The museum is founded by art collector Helene Kröller-Müller.

Yes this was and is a church but it is also a museum and city lookout tower. The tower tour is worth getting to know the history of the church, clock, and bells. If you see it only being a religious symbol you may be disappointed by the updated shows and music performed - I was not disappointed.

Exceptional history tour by church in this historic area. Be sure to go inside and have a look. Don't mind the construction going on to restore the church to its full glory. Tours are €1 and well worth it if you are into history. I believe the church's construction started in the 16th century and finished in the 18th century so plenty of melding of techniques. Enjoy!

The Gothic-style Grote Kerk (Great Church) in Breda is a true architectural marvel that transports visitors to a bygone era. This 15th-century church, adorned with an imposing 97-meter tower, is a proud testament to the city's rich history and artistic heritage. As you step inside, the church's intricate stained glass windows, vaulted ceilings, and mesmerizing frescoes capture your attention. The delicate balance between light and shadow, coupled with the choir's hauntingly beautiful melodies, create a serene atmosphere that envelops you in its embrace. One of the church's main attractions is the exquisite Prince's Chapel, a breathtaking example of Dutch Renaissance art. The ornate tombs of the House of Nassau are another must-see, showcasing Breda's historical significance. In summary, the Grote Kerk of Breda is a Gothic masterpiece that should not be missed. Its captivating architecture, rich history, and peaceful ambiance make it an unforgettable experience.

Wood carvings, beautiful organ and window after window with beautiful glass and lead. By coincidence we saw a photoshoot of the Belgian champions. Quite special to take these kinds of photos in a church. (Translated by Google) Monumental, historic, old, but still alive. At the time, it was proof of what the Breda community was able to do: it was not only an employment project to be proud of, but also a calling card of the city. The soft white natural stone that had to come from elsewhere resulted in a hefty price tag. The Nassau family made a nice contribution to this. Somewhere in the foundation of the tower is also a gold coin that, on behalf of the same family, was given a timeless place at the laying of the foundation stone (1468). This autumn, the church offers space (and a magnificent location) for the biennial BredaPhoto festival. A wide variety of work with the theme 'China Imagined' against the centuries-old decor. The diversity and contradictions of that distant country are discussed extensively. Go look! Ga kijken!

Because so little happens in the museum, it is a calm almost 19th century museum. The garden is a must. The only downside is the canteen, which has only started to smell dirtier in twenty years. Still long lines, because you have no alternative. Clean toilets, that is. (Translated by Google) Very expensive, bought 1 ticket and the other with a museum card. What you will find at the entrance is that you also have to pay for the entrance to the nature reserve. You go for a tenner and ultimately pay 31, -. Quite a fine collection, but not worth repeating for an Amsterdammer with a museum card. Rip-offs. Afzetters.

(Translated by Google) Highly Recommended! What's in the exhibition there, wow. Not just Van Gogh - but very important works by him. Nice sculpture park around it. I would plan in half a day or more. You have to see and marvel at it. Very pleasant atmosphere, also landscaped and architecturally great. (Original) Absolut empfehlenswert!

(Translated by Google) Also beautiful when closed. Environment offers a lot of beauty. It is a pity that the sculpture garden was not opened separately from the indoor museum. Shouldn't it be possible to arrange?

Had my graduation event here and all I can say is that it looks amazing from the outside and the inside. I haven't seen everything in the church but I do recommebd to have events here due to the large space and friendly personel.

Breda’s “The Grote Kerk “ or “Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk” is one of the great churches in the Netherlands. It is the landmark of Breda. It’s elegant and with detailed little sculptures on the outside. Inside you’ll see the unique blue organ. The organ is one of the largest organs in the Netherlands and its history goes back to the 16th century. This church also has the Dutch royal tombs, including the one of Engelbrecht II van Nassau .

This absolutely astonishing medieval church is still in use as a church. Lots of people are married in there. When I was there the church was closed for visitors. Probably because there was a wedding. I would have loved to see one of their exhibitions or climb the tower. Maybe next time.

Very nice Church. The entrance is generally free, however during an exhibition event it is usually not. Climbing the tower is also possible if you have an online reservation in advance for 7,5 EUR.

A very beautiful and iconic church from the outside set next to a beautiful square, and lovely inside too.. the church bells play beautiful melodies and the tower is lit up beautifully at night in a modern way.

Located in the city center place with good lot of shops restaurant for a great evening. Serves as a land mark for many new comers to Breda who need to locate the party time place with friends and family

Beautiful old historic church. Free to visit, although a small donation is suggested. Several important Dutch historic leaders are buried here. Restauration is being done in a tasteful way, explanations in Dutch, but also some in English are given. Well worth a visit.

People ignoring while asking for info, no price displayed at the entrance, the church workers want you to get in and then somehow want to get in and get the 5€ ticket… sorry but no. I come from Italy, Vatican does the same business on people :)

Very nice church on the center of old Breda. Free to enter so there is no excuse to not visit for a bit . Plenty of history and exhibits to look at . A focal point in the city.

FULL 360 degree view of Breda! I visited on a Wednesday and it was with only a few other people. You can visit the tower and see the bells for 5 euros if you are a student. Definitely recommend!
