We were in this area for dinner and we were an hour earlier than expected. So we decided to check out this place for passing time. We were on a January Night and there was not much activity going on. We had the park all for ourselves and had a good time strolling around the river and catching glimpses of the buildings near by. Had to climb down few stairs from the street level to get to the park. Car parking was on the streets.

A lovely place in providence, for strolling, running biking. Some people only know it at night, when water fire is here. Which I will hopefully attend and add pictures. But it really is just as beautiful during a sunny day. It is located near the mall, and many great restaurants are around it. Get takeout and enjoy the view.

If you come to RI, this is a must visit. Also, you have to time it with the water fire festival. This is a beautiful basin where they light fires to start the water festival. The fires then go down the river. It’s not just for viewing, there are also vendors. You can eat different foods, but different goods, and drink different drinks. You can eve take the drinks all along the boardwalk. It’s good family fun combined with a little bit of adult fun. Enjoy!

Very calming atmosphere. Went one night with the family and there was nobody else there so it was nice to just look over the water and do some relaxation. Admittedly, there's nothing really interesting there to look at besides the distant buildings and slow-moving water, but that's good enough for someone who is just looking to relax for a bit. There are a few trash cans around and a good amount of benches for people to sit and relax. Also, I saw a bunny hopping around the park which was kind of cool because I didn't know there were bunnies in this area. I saw some more the next day as well outside of the park. Also, if you're here during the warmer months and are hanging around dusk or dawn, I recommend using mosquito repellant on your body because I did get a couple of bites because I was wearing shorts and short sleeve, but it was nothing serious and not the fault of the park. Wildlife is wildlife. And just something else to note, I heard an owl making its hoot noises, but didn't get a glimpse of it!

Providence downtown itself is a very pretty downtown but this is area is even more amazing! The water fire specially was a one in a kind experience. The way the fire artist performed the fire juggles was Nerve wrecking yet fun to look at. The wall filled with arts from kids all over shows the huge range of diversity and a want of overall peace.

Waterfire is a must see if you're lucky enough to be in Providence when the event is happening. Tons of people. Can hardly move when walking on the level of the river. 2 stages for live entertainment. Lots of vendors. Definitely a must see.

I really enjoy walking through this place during the day, at night, and even during waterfire events. Its soo beautiful and chill and the mall is right there and a few cool places like Cafe Nuvo, Capital Grill, Jacky’s, etc. If you follow the canal it leads you to the Providence bay and the pedestrian bridge, if you go under the tunnel KP and downtown Providence, and the street opposite facing the mall leads you to the train station/Amtrak/MBTA. The gondola can be so romantic and perfect for a date, but theres also a nice kayaking spot. And… its free just to hangout and have a picnic. A extra bonus is the fact the field where the 4th of July fireworks is right there and the state house is also very visible πŸ™‚

I absolutely 100% enjoyed every minute that I spent working at waterplace Park. With a crew of seven other people, I helped to set up the New Year's Eve extravaganza here. We were well fed, well appreciated, and well represented bye the media. The views are gorgeous, and the random sputtering of people who wandered by we're also quite polite.

Nice place. Needs some life and activities. Very dismal. I was visiting from NYC. Couldn’t find one thing to do here. Unfortunately. There was an ice rink few blocks away we went by look around and left.
