You can't get a better pet-friendly place in Pondy at such a central location. The beach & most note-worthy places are just a stone's throw away. The place is a well maintained French villa with character. Somewhere between a homestay and a hotel. So, go there with eyes wide open without expecting the luxury and efficiency of a star hotel.

We booked this hotel 2days back. Rooms were clean, room service was good. Bed and toilet was clean. Towels, bed sheet was clean. Breakfast was very good. They take personal care for the guest. All staffs were well mannered. Specially Mr Ambros and Miss Patricia very helpful and for all help they are available immediately. I look forward to stay when ever will be in pondicherry.

Beautiful cosy place in Pondy, well located in White Town...5 mins walking to the beach. The place gives a very historic feel...it is well maintained. Monica and team are very helpful. Wish we could stay longer. We will be back.

It's a nice heritage place at the apt place , located at a walkable distance from beach and also to french colony streets. Service was very good. Very friendly staff. Room was quite small but was cozy. Commode in the bathroom was very old, could be replaced. For 3 days we stayed, there was no cleaning done. This could be improved.

The hotel has potential, but it has to have some renovations in order to be very good . King suit the air conditioner it’s not working so it’s very hot , the bathroom also would need some renovations. The ideia of the hotel it’s great , has the French style , but needs an upgrade . The location it’s great ! We took the breakfast in another cafe , because was more complete.

Spent 3 nights with our two Yorkies. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms quite unique in a French way. The hotel is not luxurious as in 5 star, but comfortable and we did not want for anything. If renovated, room rates could easily be doubled and would still be good value. However the current rustic touch does appeal and adds to it's charm

Thus is an awesome place to stay. Beautiful villa with a French history. It is near to promenade and a lot of touristy places. Plenty of nice eateries around. The rooms are big and clean. For us the big part is that it is pet friendly. The staff are all helpful. The front office team, the housekeeping, security..very homely and friendly. Their manager, two of the front office staff and also the housekeeping are all nice people. The breakfast though spartan is tasty. You can order some snacks during the day. They also allow swiggy or zomato. Over will highly recommend.

It’s located in a very good spot. All the major attractions are located close to the Villa. You can practically walk to rock beach, the museum of Puducherry and Bharathi park is a minute away. Many beautiful and yum cafés situated around too. The vibe of the Villa is really nice. It’s done in a very classy, French style and is super cute. I haven’t clicked pictures of the room we stayed in. But it’s neat and okay. But a bit on the pricier side for sure. The continental breakfast we had in the morning was nice, you get South Indian too, which is nice. The people are really friendly and helpful. Good stay overall.

Hotel Villa Des Gouverneurs is a 250 years old Heritage building. It is one the heritage buildings in Pondicherry.The building once served as a quarters for the French Governers. It was bought in a Public Oction by a business man. Now being run as a hotel. It has spacious rooms with modern facilities. It close to famous Sree Manakula Vinayagar temple, Market,Chief Secretariat, Arabindo Ashram and Beach. Staff well behaved, service is very good. It is a nice place to stay. I visited along with my family and a pet.

Beautiful calm place. Been there to grab quick bite, the food was decent and the juice was refreshing. They have huge mango trees but unfortunately we can’t pluck the mangoes 🥲

I wudnt suggest this property to any single solo traveller. The owner who calls himself chairman. Is abusive old man. Rooms are like dungeon with fancy decor and no oxygen

The place is absolutely beautiful, staff is very helpful with quick response. The location is the cherry on top. Close to all nice café, beach and restaurant (all walking distances). It is in central French colony. 2 Streets away from Aurobindo Ashram, 5 mins from the beach, 5 - 6 mins from good café. No car parking (bike parking is available though). Good veg restaurant right opposite to the hotel. Too bad they are not serving food at this time. But coffee is very good. All-in-all been a good stay. Recommended superior deluxe room if travelling with kids.

You know you have chosen the right place to stay when you can enjoy beauty and convenience together. I chose this place as per my pocket (6K per night) and the location it was in. It is a villa , 200 years old. You book it to enjoy the building itself, the location and ALL the places which are a 5 minutes walking distance from this beautiful stay. The staff (the receptionist-Sita especially) is nice and kind. You book this to enjoy the architecture and the serenity of the place. Try their morning tea on the restaurant deck under the tree trunk -one of the moments created that you may remember for long!

Must visit place in the heart of pondicherry. Well maintained old charm place. Staffs are incredibly helpful. All the amenities are great. Had a great time staying at Villa Des Gouverneus.

A very lively heritage property with a french layout and decor , there is. A lovely shaded courtyard and. Avery pleasant ambience , very much near the aurobindo ashram in the white town , , though it is expensive , it is worth the money , so w of the rooms are small and cramped , some very spacious , furniture is all colonial theme ,

We stayed here 3 nights!! The hotel is maintained in a very traditional and welcome way. Spacious rooms with all the facilities. The villa even have a bookshop l, which is not common anywhere. Staffs were very nice and responsive. Perfect location. Walking distance to city and the beach. We got a nice parking facility as well. Only that we could not try the breakfast. We recommend the Villa for any type of stay. This is our first choice in Pondicherry. You can get a whole lot of pictures from inside the villa itself because of its attractive color and creative maintenance.

Centrally located place in white town. Equidistant from the beach and the market. Location is better than some of the other heritage buildings in white town. The reception staff is very very sweet and supportive and eager to help in every possible way. The only thing needs improvement is the breakfast spread and wifi connectivity. In the town that is know for the cafés and French cuisine, they need to increase the spread.

Loved the rustic rooms with so much history. The receptionist, Ms. Monica, was very cheerful and helped us resolve any issues we had quickly and smoothly. The hotel is pet friendly and accommodating to requests regarding pets. The location is very good as the Manakula Vinayagar Kovil is within walking distance as it's the beach and Gandhi Statue. Opposite this location is a Surguru restaurant that serves pure veg Indian food up till 11pm.
