The place is forgettable, the host is horrible. It’s a 3-floored property with one room on each floor. The ground floor room is unusable due to the stench from the open drain right outside. None of the rooms have any doors! We were a couple staying by ourselves - so it didn’t matter much to us, but might not really be suitable for large groups. In fact one “wall” of the main bedroom is just curtains! The terrace has a good view. Location wise, it’s within 1km of the promenade. There are however a few shanties you’ll have to cross enroute. Now coming to the host. She’s untrustworthy and rude. Since we were to stay at this place for 12 days, we wanted home cooked food and asked her about options - she said she will herself provide and asked for advance money for the full duration, which we happily agreed to. First day, 9pm in the night, we call her up to ask about food - after multiple calls, she finally answers and says she can’t deliver today - this, when Pondicherry had night curfew from 9pm. Next morning for lunch, same story- in addition she yelled at us saying she’s not our servant. After this, we asked her to not bother about food at all and we arranged directly by ourselves. Next up, 9 days into our stay she calls us up saying there will be an electricity outage at night for some repairs, and that she will shift us to a different property. We obviously doubted it and asked around in the neighbourhood - they confirmed that no such thing is planned. When we refused saying that we can manage without electricity for a night, she went on to say there is also sewage repairs planned - by now we were sure if we didn’t move, she might actually do us harm. We agreed to move out (she had a deposit and had taken the full advance money from us beforehand). She arranged a smaller alternate place for us - we agreed since we had just 3 days left. Since this was a smaller place, at a lower cost, she offered to refund the difference but promised to give the money after the stay, which we agreed to. At sharp 6, she starts calling us non stop and yelling at us why we haven’t vacated yet. Her maid starts cleaning up the house in our presence. We reach the other house. The house is somewhat clean, but needs a round of mopping and dusting. We ask her to send the maid over, she says tomorrow morning at 7am. We agreed since by then it was 8 in the night and we didn’t want to bother the maid that late. Next morning, when we call her up at 11am asking when she intends to send the maid - she again yells and abuses us, and says she’ll send her when she feels like and we have to run by her whims and fancies. We again decline her services and arrange for a maid ourselves through neighbours. Next, we decide to swing by the previous house that evening to check it out. And as expected, there were other guests. She literally threw us out since she was getting another booking. The neighbours there informed that the guests came in within an hour after we left. I wonder if the new guests knew that there was zero covid sanitisation done. And now, the final saga. Our deposit, and the money she owed us back. She said she’s out of town, she’ll send back the deposit amount in cash through her friends, & the rest in 3 days after she reaches back Pondicherry. Well, she did send the deposit money. The rest never materialised- it’s been 3 weeks since we left Pondicherry, she doesn’t answer our calls and we don’t expect her to return the money anymore. (Also, while we were there, we heard from one of her long duration tenants that she regularly doesn’t return deposit money to her tenants). We made a mistake in trusting her airbnb reviews; we later realised she promised people free stays and discounts and got them to write positive reviews. To the ones who don’t agree, she responds with belligerent messages saying they broke her furniture or some other accusation - thankfully we realised this while we were there, so we made it a point to record a video of the house as proof.

A true sample of excellent hospitality! It’s a great place to stay. It was the best experience staying there. The location is very beautiful and close to Rock beach (literally 3 minutes walkable). This place is very well maintained...Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the Host Nahid. The staff was extremely friendly, Especially Mr Asif. The home-cooked food was yummy as we had all cookware available. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. We loved the ambience. I would highly recommend this place and I would want to come back to this place again. Thank you Nahid for being a nice host.🦋

Floors, walls, counters, AC and fridge were splattered with old food and dirt. The sink was clogged, there was no water available anywhere. The apartment smelt like smoke even though it was non smoking and the towels and bathroom were definitely not clean. The dry wall was eroding. Plus the owner was very unprofessional, harassed us and left us stranded for 3 hours. Did not return our caution money by stating false charges.

The property is very good and well maintained. Location is great and near to Rock beach and French town. Nahid is a great host and she helped us throughout our stay with anything we needed. Would definitely recommend this property.

We had spent a month at this property, and it was wonderful, thanks to Nahid who is a wonderful host. She was always available to help us out with whatever we needed. Would surely recommend this or any other property hosted by Nahid to anyone coming to Pondy.

The stay was amazing. The host is such a kind person. The place is really clean, neat and well maintained. Please don’t miss it. I highly recommend you to please book this place because the price really worth it. Nahid is such a wonderful person who put her guests on priority.

Property is in Great location, Clean and beautiful property with garden and small pool which are Well maintained . Very near to beach . Campfire is allowed . Group of friends can have a great stay .

It seemed as if we were staying in our own home. A lovely location and a nice stay. The best part about this residence is how beautifully its heritage is preserved and how neat and tidy it is throughout.

This properity is worth the price and very close to beach (5mins walk). Owner is so polite. I strongly recommend this for people who are looking into budget friendly property near the beach.

Stay is very nice amazing experience. The host Nahid khan helped us very well, given local information, such a nice kind hearted person. In house all furniture arrangements and curtain designs are good, good view. Fully recommended.
