I have booked a 5 days and 4 nights adventure tour. 2 nights camping, one night lodge and one night at the lake. Due to the weather, we had only one night camping, one night lodge and one night at the lake. My group left after the second night and my guide told me that he will also leave after the third night (at the lake). Therefore, I was wondering what will happen to me afterwards. I called the manager (I have booked the trip with him) and asked him what was going on and if there might be the option to reduce the trip to 4 days and 3 nights because of the circumstances. He told me clearly, that if I want to reduce it will be cancelling from my side and therefore, no refund for me. I was supposed to stay one more night at the lodge again after the lake. So, I told him, in that case I will continue the trip. I even asked about the activities on the last day. After the phone call we continued the trip. After the stay at the lake we came back to the lodge and my guide said goodbye to me. I thanked him and went to my room. Suddenly I realized, that there was nobody, no other group, no guide, nobody. I went back and asked what was going on since I had one more night at the lodge. The staff was surprised and told me that they know nothing about it. All the staff was ready to leave. They told me, the next group will arrive in some days. Therefore, I had no chance but to go with them. I wrote the manager the same evening, explained him the situation and kindly asked him to give me a refund for the one night and day I have booked but have not received. He started to argue with me and said, that I have cancelled the trip on the phone and so on. I told him, that I have only asked if there is an option to reduce the trip, but that I have never cancelled. He did not believe me. Said that he is working for over 20 year in tourism and clients do not always tell the truth. The next day the manager and the guide came to my hotel to talk about the situation. I explained them the situation, but the manager just repeated himself ... I have cancelled the trip on the phone and so on. Even the tour guide confirmed my statement, since he also believe that I will stay one more night at the lodge. The manager offered me a day trip, but I declined since it was not the same and I had other plans. At the end the manager said he has to talk to his staff to figure out if he could give me some refund. I have never heard of him again. PS: The agency changed the name some time ago. The previous name was "Tarantula Expeditions". You can see it on Google maps. I suppose they changed the name because of the poor reviews they got, to have a fresh start.

Good tour however the itinerary and information before booking are not clear. The itinerary's on the website are not set in stone, they can change depending on the size of the group and the weather. You also have a lot of free hours during the day, its not activity packed from Morning to night - which is fine however this isnt communicated before the tour either. Take a book or download some programs before you go! The rooms are fine but insect filled - which is expected for the amazon rainforest. The tour guides are great, however getting to the lodge can be daunting if you dont speak spanish, as the staff and drivers communicate simply by pointing where to go and youre expected to follow. Scary until you arrive to the lodge but once youre there after a few hours its okay. The food is nice there too however quite repetitive each day.

We did the 3D2N tour and it was an amazing experience. Everyone is very friendly and we immediately felt at home. There is wifi and electricity during the day. The food was very good, and a lot. There was some free time between activities, which we didn't know/expect, but which is fine. We did not entirely follow the online program, which was not a huge problem as we still did the most important things like parrot clay lick, Sandoval lake and cayman search at night.

Absolutely fantastic jungle tour filled with wildlife. We did the 4 days/3 nights and saw a caiman, sloths, giant river otters, monkeys, spiders and snakes. This was mainly down to our guide, who was fantastic. We were very lucky with the weather, which undoubtedly has a huge bearing on what you see (perhaps reflected in the other reviews). I would well recommend staying for at least 2 or 3 days to maximise your chances of good weather, otherwise your experience could be very different. Staying for just a night is not worth it. The lodge itself was lovely, and the food was great - some of the best we had in Peru. For the price, the tour really is brilliant. Other tour companies charge far more for virtually the same thing.

Nice activities but… they have no clue how to handle food responsibly. 8/10 of the people on our 4days/3nights got food poisening…

The lodge itself is nice, and of course the Amazon is incredible. All of the noises are phenomenal, especially at sunset or in the middle of the night. The drawback with this particular lodge is the tours, our tour guide had little interest in filling us with knowledge about the Amazon or the life in it, but more just cared about photos and making sarcastic jokes. One of the days we got to go fishing with the general manager Pedro, he can't speak English, and this was the highlight tour because we finally had some peace from our tour guide who offered nothing but frustration. They didn't provide torches for the night walk so we just followed our guide and he insisted on taking photos of everything on our cell phones and then passed around the photos, while blocking out the cool creatures himself. It blew my mind how focused he was on everything except actually showing us cool things and telling us interesting information. Eventually I gave up asking him questions because he would only answer with a sarcastic joke. Wouldn't recommend this lodge to anyone, the 3 stars are given to the Amazon itself and the food which was decent. The tours and tour guides were poor quality, and really took away from what could have been a 10/10 experience.

if you are looking for a thrilling and educational adventure in the Peruvian Amazon, look no further. I participated in the 6 days 5 nights tour of the reserve and cannot recommend this company enough. My tour guide Jonathan Tanbuada and the rest of the staff made sure that all my needs were met, and went beyond their comfort zone to ensure that my experience was enjoyable. I learnt a lot about the local biodiversity and the historical background of the reserve. The jaguar, capybara and many species were among the fauna I was able to observe within their proper habitat. I also highly recommend spending a night at Lake Sandoval. One thing that would have made the experience better? The portion sizes of the meals and their timing. For a gym enthusiast like myself who is very active, the portions were a bit small and the meals were very spaced out. So be prepared to walk with lots of snacks and fruits from Puerto Maldonado. Other than that, it was great!

Bummer! We chose the the 4D / 3N tour and I wouldn’t recommend to a friend. It’s really a three day tour, not four. We really wanted to like this place but it felt like a mess. (2.5/5 RATING) Nearly all activities were tourist traps (think lines and crowds) and the business did the bare minimum. Things that could make this experience better: clear communication about the schedule (perhaps a white board with daily plan?), don’t dump clients onto other random tour groups, provide alternative activities that aren’t tourist traps, and incorporate snacks into meal schedule.

The agency was difficult to deal with. They did not admit that a parrot clay lick visit was included in the tour although this was clearly mentioned in the description on the website. When I asked for my money back, they asked for an absurdly high taxi fee for the airport transfer that I had. After we agreed on a lower "taxi" price, they asked for a higher price again despite our earlier conversation. Ultimately, I received a refund minus the hefty charge for "taxi"

Skip this agency. Poor communication between tour operator and lodge operators ruin the experience. Food was bad each day. No water most time of the day.

We did the 3D/2N tour and it was a great experience! Especially the team (our guides Jorge and Rodriguez and the cook Daniel) made it an unforgetable time!
