We
booked
3
rooms
with
Hotel
Sona
International,
Puri
-
2
rooms
for
4
days
and
1
room
for
2
days,
for
5
of
us.
As
per
the
hotel’s
requirement,
we
paid
Rs.
17000/-
as
advance
payment
via
online
transaction.
The
booking
was
from
10th
June
to
13th
June,
2022.
However,
we
were
stuck
in
a
road
blockade
in
Kolkata
on
the
evening
of
9th
June
(reported
in
all
leading
newspapers)
and
missed
our
train
('Garib
Rath’).
We
were
stuck
for
3.5
hours
and
the
two
senior
citizens
in
our
team
were
not
in
a
position
to
travel
further.
Hence,
three
of
us
booked
a
flight
for
10th
morning
to
Bhubaneswar.
After
reaching
Bhubaneswar,
we
requested
the
hotel
over
phone
to
consider
our
case
since
we
no
longer
needed
3
rooms.
However,
they
said
that
if
they
did
not
get
any
boarder,
then
we
would
have
to
pay
the
full
charge
for
the
three
rooms.
When
I
asked
about
their
cancellation
rule,
they
said
that
it
was
20
days.
I
was
astonished
and
expressed
my
astonishment
to
him
mildly
and
in
a
normal
voice.
However,
the
person
at
the
other
end
got
furious
and
started
to
shout.
I
tried
to
calm
him
down
by
requesting
him
not
to
get
agitated
and
to
not
shout
but
he
continued
in
his
way.
Then
I
had
to
shout
too.
Upon
reaching
the
hotel
we
again
had
an
altercation
during
which
they
said
that
they
would
have
done
all
types
of
adjustment
but
now
they
would
not.
Also
the
person
at
the
counter
became
extremely
aggressive
–
he
came
running
towards
me,
shouted
at
the
top
of
his
voice
and
pointed
finger
to
me.
At
that
time,
we
had
enough.
I
also
became
afraid
of
the
safety
of
my
family
there.
Hence
we
left
the
hotel
and,
after
searching
for
about
5
hours,
got
accommodation
in
other
hotels.
However,
not
only
we
were
insulted
and
verbally
abused,
they
did
not
return
Rs.
17000
even
though
we
did
not
stay
at
the
hotel
for
a
single
minute.
