Halal Chinese restaurant in Putrajaya. Wow!!! Simply unassumingly good with an amazing view of the lake as you see from the pics! I rarely give 5 stars but this one really exceeded my expectations. I would not have imagined every dish to be very good. My standout dishes and must try: - butter prawns - scallop broccoli and fishmaw claypot - asparagus cauliflower and tapioca - aubergine or brinjal salt pepper style - beef spring onions These dishes had great flavor and lovely textural components. Do note that they charge for sauces and do not serve even beer at the restaurant. Service is friendly but may be a less prompt if you are in a private room like our group.

Nice scenic location for a pork free chinese restaurant at the heart of putrajaya. Service is friendly. Food is surprisingly good. They have private dining rooms named after different kinds of Chinese tea

Had a Chinese New Year Lou Sang here. Amazing food, steamed fish was fresh, broccoli and cauliflower was unique and tasty, the rest of the dishes were great too. Good place for gatherings. Amazing view of the lake. Parking is easy in the hotel basement

Very exclusive Chinese restaurant located within the Zenith Hotel of Putrajaya. The dining hall is overlooking the Putrajaya lake which offer a tranquil view. Though it is a halal Chinese cuisine, the dishes are too delicious to be true. Indeed a gastronomic experience and honour to dine here. Very unique way of preparing eggplants, highly recommended. In fact, all the dishes that we had, it’s just superb.

The Chinese cuisine offered at Tong Yuen is simply amazing both in terms of presentation , portion and taste! A very pleasant surprise given that Halal/No Pork chinese restaurants are sometimes inferior to the non Halal restaurants. The restaurant dining area had an amazing view of the Putrajaya lake, mosque and Prime Minister's Office, with direct access to the Putrajaya cycling and jogging track through the hotel's LG floor. They also have private rooms available. For appetizer, the cashew nuts with sesame coating was very nice. For main course, we had the Fried Butter Prawns which was juicy, tender and perfectly deep fried crust. The flavour was well balanced and not too heavy unlike other restaurants. The garlic stir fry green dragon chives with shimeji was average. Could taste better with more wok hei. The fried eggplant was also great. It was also perfectly fried - crispy on the outside and soft inside without excess oil. The crispy toppings were delicious. We also had the seafood Cantonese fried kuay teow (wat tan hor), and while the price might be expensive at rm70+, it came with a big udang galah, generous portion of abalone slices and also scallops + vegetables. Finally, we ordered the Steamed Red Snapper fish with ginger paste. It was steamed masterfully and they used high quality ginger. Only downside is the fish was frozen and not live. It might be a better choice to go for other dishes as the price is in the higher side. Tong Yuen Restaurant is without a doubt the best Chinese restaurant in Putrajaya, and contender for the top even in the entire Klang Valley area including non Halal grand restaurants like Tai Tong, Copper Mansion, Imperial Palace etc. The service was also great. Waiters were friendly, polite and attentive. Highly recommended!

I was skeptical before choosing this restaurant for my family gathering. But the food was surprisingly good! They have quite a number of private rooms and the view is really beautiful. We were conservative and choose the dishes recommended by others in google review. The butter prawn was really outstanding! beef spring onions dish was also good, very tender and juicy.

The sweet sour seabass (siakap masam manis) was a bit too sweet for my taste (this coming from a Kelantanese is a statement by itself). The fish itself if great but the sauce left an unpleasant aftertaste on my soft palate (too much vinegar). Be sure to ask for the weight of the seabass first since they charge per 100g (as the standard elsewhere). The rice portion served was very small in quantity for Asian standards. You would be fuller with a bowl of Maggi noodles than their rice. And they have the AUDACITY to charge me a lot for it. Since this is the only Halal certified restaurant in Zenith, so we have no choice. The Roof XIII is more enticing but not Hala certified (as stated in their website). Maybe because I am not Chinese that I don't appeciate the meals. Other reviews praised this place generously.

👍👍 Taste nearly to the authentic nasi lemak royale in Alor Setar. Portion wise is big, rice, fried chicken, okra all enough. Long queue to order, but fast-paced service. 👍👍 A great place to go if you’re craving ‘hot soup’ food. The seasoning hits right to your tongue (this is a personal preference) with adequate portioning. Even a better place to be if it is raining. The waiters are kind and fast.
