We visited this pub on 2 occasions...one for lunch and the other for drinks. The second visit was much better - just drinks. Annie was amazing and added such a personalized touch to a Guinness! Btw, she was the only bartender I found in Quebec who pours a Guinness properly and see the pic for the detail. Old Ireland feel inside this pub with great service☘️ Slainte!! ☘️

Situated on rue Saint- Jean this Irish pub has some great beers on the tab and not so bad food options. It took us sometime to scan there menu as there was some issue with scanning process and I saw every guest going through same problem. The service was great, our server was chatty and suggested us food items from menu. If you are staying near by the area you can definitely try this place for one of your excursions.

It was raining and I looked for the nearest pub in the area. Pub St-Patrik was nearby. It was full on the upper level, so I was directed to the basement level. A cozy and pleasant place with a good atmosphere and responsive staff. The beer was good and the hamburger tasted good.

This pub is conveniently located. The food was typical of pub food that you would find in most areas. A wide selection on beer on tap and a good ambiance overall. Unfortunately, we were seated in a strange area in the basement by a very loud heat unit. Service was ok. Pricing was a bit higher than normal pub food, but about what you would expect in this tourist area and lower than many other more upscale restaurants in the area. Good solid choice for a drink and basic food.

Easily the most negative experience we had on our entire vacation. As others have noted, food was not very good. I ordered nachos as when I went to order an Irish staple (Shepard's pie) our server informed us that it is no longer available. Same for when I switched to bangers and mash. Nacho chips were all smashed crumbs. My daughter's pizza was freezer burnt, my other child did enjoy their spaghetti however. We saw our server exactly twice in our 60 minute stay. Once to take our order, once to pay our bill, and neither time was she polite. However the worst part of our experience came after paying. I tipped 5 percent fully aware that I tipped lower than normal due to poor service and less than ideal food. Our server asked me "did you make a mistake only tipping 6 dollars?" How little tact is this??? Seriously, have some self awareness, we will never be back. I explained that no it wasn't a mistake, that not once did she come by our table and that our food was not very good. Do not recommend. Edit to add, that atmosphere however was very neat. We say in the basement which at first night seem like a negative, but it was actually very neat.

We arrived late to the city and a few of the restaurants I had in mind were already closed so I just chose the first place I saw. Good ambiance, fast service and nice staff but not great food! The burger patty was super dry and lacked taste, the fries had absolutely no salt, the burger didn't have enough sauce and the little sauce it had wasn't anything special! The fish fillets were too thin, not good quantity for the price! I liked the cold slaw, it was fresh, crunchy and tasty. Also, I preferred it if they brought a whole coke can instead of filling a small glass with half ice and half coke!

We went here on our first night and it was a fun experience. Our server was attentive and the food was very good! Live music really made it fun! Would definitely return

Fantastic Irish pub in the heart of Old Quebec City. They serve all the typical Irish fair, as well as Irish drinks. If you make it here you have to check out the vaults in the basement. Thankfully the bathrooms are located there as well, so it is likely you would anyhow. Very interesting as well as historic. Great place to stop on a cold winter day in the city for a pint of Guinness. Follow for more...

The kitchen was very busy the day we went there. The food was delicious and this place is super cool. The top bar is a great spot to grab a pint and watch the game and the bottom bar is equally as cool. We sat downstairs in front of the kitchen and this place really had an old feel about it. That was quite pleasant.

I rarely thrash restaurants, especially given recent issues caused by the pandemic, but this place deserves it. We have eaten all around Montreal and Quebec City this past week, and have been very tolerant of places that are understaffed. However, our server was terrible. We placed a dinner order which arrived more than an hour later, and two of three entrees were burned or overcooked to the point of being inedible. Our server left us at our table for that entire time when we were the only table in the room. I literally had one glass of water during the hour wait, because she never checked on us. She then did not check on us the entire time we were eating, so we were not able to make her aware of the issues with the food. She had no concern whatsoever. The one positive is that the Bangers and Mash entree was very good, but that doesn't help when the remaining three people in our party found their food to be awful. The waitress did remove the charge for one entree that was simply inedible. This restaurant is surrounded by good food establishments, including other Irish pubs. Do yourself a favor and choose one of those.

Food was mediocre and the service was very bad the waiter never came around until it was time to pay the bill. They need better service …. A couple of days later we sat at the bar upstairs and great service watching NHL Winter classic and world juniors. If they can drive the service upstairs and have them downstairs this place would be absolutely amazing. Great time nonetheless

Yikes. We ordered beers and a pizza to share. Wanted the little poutine $11 from the kids menu to share because that’s about all we can eat. Nope. Absolutely not. We are not children therefore we cannot order. Manager said no, you are not a child. So no $11 plus a rotten review….I dunno.

Irish pub in the heart of Old Quebec. I had fish and chips, my wife had tacos and my daughter had the pulled pork sandwich. The food was really good. The fries were awesome! Decent beer selection. Drinks averaged around $10 ea. meals were in the $20 range per person and the entre was $15. Total bill with tip for 3 people and 4 drinks was $150. Food was a bit slow getting to our table but it was fresh and hot.

If you like good food this place might be for you! The food was all very tasty the service was challenged perhaps because of Covid issues. None the less very good if you are around check it out!

Food was very poor …. Irish stew had no meat and was lukewarm, crispy duck looked like it came from a frozen TV dinner box. My advice….Go for the beer and maybe snacks. If you go for the live entertainment make sure you are on the main floor. If you end up in the basement you can’t here any music and it is super crowded On the plus side…Our server and the host both did a great job under the circumstances.

My husband and I went on July 31. I'd visited before and had a great experience so thought I'd bring him to the pub. We had made reservations and were sat in the basement with little lighting and loud music. Our server was also working the bar and this seemed to be her priority. She maybe came to our table 3-4 times. When our food arrived, we could tell it had been under heat lamps as my husband's coleslaw was hot. What was most troublesome was that the bar seemed to be a place for staff to chat. We saw many staff members go by, eating olives from the bar, taking off their masks, never washing or sanitizing their hands after doing so, preparing their own food and taking shots (one staff even said oh baby Guinness, these are my favorite!). To say we were disappointed is an understatement as I know this is not the experience that you want your customers to have.

Visiting from Vancouver, BC. Terrible experience! Lined up for 45 min. Food was barely OK. Fries were burned. We never got any cutlery or napkins. Best thing was the drinks and a very friendly waiter. This restaurant is not worth the wait or hype! Location is the only thing that's going for them!!!

We visited this pub while staying in a hotel nearby and if your stopping by Quebec city you should definitely check out this place! The atmosphere was great with live music. The musician they had I believe she was called Mode was incredibly talented. Our waitress I didn't get her name but she was so friendly and gave us great ideas on what to order. I had the chicken tacos which were very tasty and my husband had the burger which he very much enjoyed. Overall I would definitely come here again one evening whenever we stop by Quebec city. Thanks Pub St. Patrick for a great night!

Unfortunately was not a big fan of this place. We chose this place because it is one of the few restaurants that stayed open later than 9h00 pm. Waitresses were very nice and loved their beer recommendation! The food not so much.... I want to be fair and say this might be due to the staff shortage restaurants are currently facing but it really was not enjoyable. Ordered the onion soup, way way too salty. Fried pickles were good. Ordered two plates of the pulled pork burger with cheese and bbq sauce but the plate arrived super cold and very dry. Both plates were like that.

Food took a very long time and was not good. The Irish stew was way too salty and there were cold spots throughout so it was likely microwaved. The burger was clearly a frozen Costco patty (they also said they won't go any lower than well done).

This place was packed on a Sunday night. Did not have a reservation. It was great atmosphere with a live musician on the ground level. This place seemed to have multiple levels and different rooms within those levels. Music was pumping throughout. Service was prompt and efficient. Food arrived quickly. Portions were huge. I ordered 3 tacos thinking they were small. These were large and plentifully stuffed. They have great selection of alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages. I ordered a mixed beer drink, cream velvet. It was smooth, cold and delicious.

Atmosphere restaurant, good beer, friendly staff. A little busy. To get there you need to arrive early. I recommend an onion soup

The chicken tacos were the best tacos of my life!!! And the fries were amazing!!! I loved it so much that I went twice there!! About the service, the waitress were kind rude and the space wasn’t so well cleaned, but for the food It’s all worth. I went there in summer and we had to wait to eat at the patio area, but for downstairs there wasn’t a line.

The atmosphere is excellent. The basement is super cool. Reminds you of something you’d see in Harry Potter , the Witcher or some other sort magical or medieval times bar. To get to the washroom it’s a bit of a maze, but a really interesting one. The live music is spot on. The food is good but I did find the pulled pork didn’t have enough sauce. The staff are bilingual so if you’re French is terrible, you can try in English. The menu is bilingual too. The staff are friendly . The whole street the pub is on is lively. Don’t forget to stop into the Monsieur Jean hotel for a free peek around the Alice and Wonderland vibe and you’ll be able to see the pub from a new view.

The waiter was super super nice. The food was good. Overall i could’ve gave this place a 3.7, but i rounded down to 3 only because the service itself was dreadfully slow. I got the margarita pizza and it was super delicious! Same with the pretzels and caesar salad, but it wasn’t outstanding. The wings weren’t really good either. The atmosphere didn’t really stand out that much either. I think it’s because we sat in the basement, but overall it wasn’t really that bad. Overall this place is sort of in the middle. Service was horrible, food was good, and the atmosphere was in the middle. Waiter was very very nice though.

I think there are better pubs in the area. We stopped in for a drink and it was pretty busy (understandable for a Saturday afternoon). We waited a while for a host and she offered us a small high top right beside the front door. The entrance is already cramped and now I’m sitting halfway into it with the cold coming in and out. However we did agree to this table, which we only did because we thought it was the only option. Only to see a couple get seated at a table they broke apart from a 4 seater. I think this table by the door should be a last resort when all other options are booked Our server looked like he was managing a lot but was still nice and attentive. There was a good option of drinks but I think other spots can rival.

5 Stars! The service was fantastic, the food was excellent and abundant, and the atmosphere was what you would expect from an Irish pub. I myself had the fish and chips with a glass of red wine, while my parents each had a half rack of ribs. The fish was perfectly balanced with the right amount of batter to fish ratio, and the fries had the perfect crispy outside and soft center. The ribs my parents had were falling off the bone. The ribs were so tender that they practically melted in your mouth. My parents have had ribs from all over, and these are the best by far, even beating out New Orleans, Louisiana. The server was able to provide excellent pairings for each of myself and my parents' taste, Dad asked for a light local beer, Mom asked for a glass of white wine, and I asked for red. He chose fantastic selections that were perfect for our tastes.

Great beer selection. Poutine was really good as well. Location and ambiance was great, as was the service from Flavie. Martinis were surpringly one of the better ones we had on our trip. Patio is a good size and there is a ton of seating inside. Very cozy pub, would return the next time we visit Quebec City.

If you can get a seat outside on the patio, it is totally worth it! Sit in the sun, drink some beer and have some good food. It’s a great place to people watch. The service was good as were the drinks and food. It’s a fun spot with live music right on the corner. I definitely recommend stopping in here even if it’s just for some drinks. Lots of fun!

I would give it a 1 for the food. The very thin crust margarita pizza was like a poorly prepared frozen pizza. The 2 rating is because the outdoor Cafe vibe was very nice.

Lovely spot to spend a sunny sidewalk afternoon for my bday lunch with hubby! Poutine was delish and so was sangria.

We were unexpectedly in Quebec City on a hot July day looking for something for a light lunch. We spotted this Irish pub and we were quickly seated in the cellar - style room that was quite the reprieve from the stifling outside temperature. The waiter spoke fluent French and English. The food didn't take that long. The onion rings were perfectly battered and crispy. The nachos, while very tasty, seemed like they were from the bottom of the bag....too small to scoop up the generous toppings. The beer was not that cold, but the humidex was very high, so maybe that affected it. I would definitely go back a second time and hope the beer is colder. 🍺

I ordered a Guiness, French Onion soup, and delicious beef tacos with fries, each of them was huge and very filling and a little spicy from jalapeno peppers. Also enjoyed Irish Stew. Well worth a visit.

The place itself is very cool. In ancient stone building and it is busy. The food is at best mediocre. Getting someone to take your order was hard and slow. But once the order was on the delivery to your table was prompt.

  • 2/5 Shawn C. 2 years ago on Google
Long wait, and slow service... likely attributable to staffing shortages so I can't fault them too much there. Onion petals were onion rings that were burned. While the maple syrup sauce they came with was interesting, it was rather bland. The chicken tacos were also rather bland...serving with some hot sauce would help. Chairs inside are uncomfortable. Great location and patio looked nice but it was a little cold for that.

I went there looking for the best brownnie I ever tried and they do not make it anymore since two years ago, they said. I instead order another plate that I also ordered before and was worse than that time. Kind of expensive. Staff is nice and location amazing.
