Ginger is beautifully decorated and has a very nice atmosphere. I stopped by for lunch and the restaurant was full of conference attendees. I was afraid it might take a while but I was able to flag a busy waitress down to be seated. It was clear that they were understandably occupied but I was served fairly quickly and my soup and salad was delicious.

Service was below expectations. Ordered the kids meals and the waiter asked if we'd like the kids' food to be served at the same time as the appetizers we said "yes please" however appetizers came about 20 minutes before the kids' meals. The wrong wine was brought to the table. A drink that we ordered and billed for was never served. Food was good, decent fish and pork chop sides were room temperature but the meat was still hot. Overall if the service had been halfway decent this would easily be a 4 star review.

Our experience at Ginger wasn't the best. The menu was quite limited. For example, there is only one salad entree and one fish entree. There is an extensive mixed drink list, but it's all basic cocktails, no unusual or fresh ingredients. The night we were there, several side items on the menu were not available. The food took at least a half hour to arrive and was very mediocre. My Caesar salad was supposed to have chicken but instead came with bacon and what appeared to be broken-up sliced grocery store cheese. My husband's steak was medium well instead of medium rare. The shoestring fries were overcooked. The music was loud, and the atmosphere is more like a bar than a restaurant. Altogether I can't recommend this place.

I got a breakfast to go and was trying to enjoy my fruit when I noticed the strawberries looked dirty. Upon further inspection, you can clearly see that they didn't wash the strawberries at all, as you can clearly see all the dirt. Now my whole meal is ruined!!!!!!!!

Waited at least 15 minutes for service. Food was not good at all. Salmon dish was $30 and very small! Veges were non existent. French fries tasted like they were reheated. So terrible for price. Sat at the bar after and 4 people didn’t even acknowledge us. We were the only ones there! So very disappointed and waste of money.

The food was ok, but the service provided by Audrey at the bar was excellent! She attended to me and my partner's every need and ensured we had good conversation. Thanks Audrey

I usually have a good time at Ginger, but this time was very disappointing. Our main took over 60 minutes to be served after appetizers were done. The server seldom came to see us, be it for updates on the kitchen's tardiness, or to take additional drink orders. It might just be a fluke, but I was disappointed nonetheless.

The restaurant is located inside the Plaza Hotel. We were at dinner...the waiter offered wine, which we really liked, and the chef prepared salmon😋 There is live music. I liked everything very much❣️

Decent food but extremely long service. It took 1 hour and 15 minutes to get our meal, we were a table of 7 people. Most of us ordered salads and tartares so the delay was ridiculous.

Understanding staff shortages and all. Service was painfully slow. Our waiter was very friendly, positive, suggested food choices. Food was delicious. The next day for lunch the restaurant was closed due to lack of kitchen staff (chefs).

We ate at Ginger last night (Monday) while on a quick stop in town and staying at the attached hotel. We made a 7:30 reservation and arrived a few minutes early. The host remembered us and we were quickly seated. This will be great we thought! We had a very kind waitress that brought water and took our drink order promptly. Once that order was placed, the courtesy and service simply disappeared. With a nearly empty restaurant, it still took 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive, a glass of wine and a beer in a can. When we placed our order, we were told they were out of calamari, not a big deal, so we skipped the app portion. On the servers recommendation, I went with the burger and my wife ordered the seafood stew. The sever came back quickly to say they were out of seafood stew. The kitchen could still do seafood linguine so she chose that. 30 or so minutes later, our food arrived and our empty water glasses got refilled. My burger was beyond overcooked, well done might not even aptly describe it. The bun too was crusty and the fries weren’t even warm, let alone hot or fresh. The linguine was about a half pound of pasta with 2 shrimp, 2 mussels that seems “off a little” and something resembling a calamari tentacle. Wow. Not impressed. My daughter’s mac & cheese was good and could have fed 3-4 people. We declined dessert and promptly paid our tab and left. The whole experience took nearly 2 hours when it could have taken 45-min to an hour. Overpriced, sub-par food quality and a general lack of service made this a regrettable one time visit to Ginger. Do yourself a favor and just go to the McDonalds across the street.

The staff was really nice. Food good but the best part was really how the staff was really thoughtful.

Terrible service, sadly. Ruined our night. We went there for the opening at 11:30/12 and got two cesar salads. They were pretty nice, but we literally got two romaine hearts unchopped and probably unwashed 😕 And food wasn't that awesome either. We came back for the evening and were served like in a whole hour and a half after we ordered. The server kept ignoring us even tho he constantly ran here and there and even had time to chat with two ladies for a long time. We wanted more drinks and had to wait so long for him to notice us. There was a second waiter, and only he noticed us after a while and brought us drinks, thank God. There were only like 3 or 4 tables of ppl there, and they weren't served fast either. And the server brought the food that wasn't the best too. Decent at most. Ruined the night when the server got mad at me for not tipping since the service was terrible. I'm not coming back ever again since I was made feel guilty for being "rude" and not tipping, and the server served us "for free" while all he did was ignore us.

I couldn't possibly recommend this place more. It was attached to our hotel, and the food and drinks were wonderful. Thomas the bartender went above and beyond to answer our questions, but also made the best cocktails. French onion soup was one of the best I've ever had. Drinks can also be taken down to the pool area, which is a plus. We also met one of the owners who was also incredibly accommodating and very knowledgeable about the area. Great restaurant, great hotel. Follow for more...

We are here since we were staying at the hotel. The waiter was very friendly and good English. The atmosphere was very 90s with red and purple lights etc. I liked it. We ordered the duck pasta and fillet mingion with chiorzo potato purée. The food took a long time but it was not busy. The pasta was very good but the beef was very dry. Clearly they do not know how to do a medium steak. It was more than well done it was blackened. Disappointed considering the 2 dishes cost $100. If you want nice beef go elsewhere.

Great place but small portion and expensive. However, you dont have a choice if you stay in the Hotel Plaza Quebec. I ordered a chicken wing with bbq sauce. Sauce was amazing. Chicken was cooked in japanese karaage style. It was tasty and delicious.

Booked on the internet in England. Wanted a booked venue with something extra eg live music. To make our short visit to Quebec memorable! Great food, excellent service, surprisingly good band. It was wonderful.

We did apps and drinks. Wings and nachos were perfect, the wings were some of the best Ive ever had, golden crispy and juicy inside. Cocktails were delicious, would give 5 stars but it took to long of a time to be served drinks after ordering them. Waiter was super nice and personable.

Never waited that long to get served! Asked for medium rare steak, got it medium. Waitress just wanted to stay at the bar with her friends and didn't give a rats a** about customers

Some of us had very good food, some of us found it mediocre. Our waitress was okay, seemed like she didn't want to be there.

Consistently interesting menu items. Sometimes there’s (loud) live music. Monday thru Fri there are specials. Wednesdays it’s 50% off pizzas, a great deal. I’ve always been pleased with everything I tasted here. Will go back, hopefully on a night with no live music.

Easily one of the best meals I have eaten in a restaurant. Steak was cooked perfectly and the baked potato was amazing! We will definitely be back!

We (my wife and I) are return customers, due to having nothing less than an absolutely fantastic stay at this hotel the previous time in the summer of 2020. The Ginger restaurant located within the hotel itself served us nothing but absolutely fantastic food, with extremely enthusiastic and friendly service all times during both stays, to make our most recent stay (July 1st to July 2nd) a very pleasant memory we will cherish for years. Interesting coincidence is, during both stays (2020 and 2021), we were assigned to the exact same room (116). I now wonder if there's any significance to that?

Enjoyed a drink and some nice food on the patio. Staff was very helpful with the menu recommendations. Delicious. The service was quick and always came with a smile.
