We
had
two
fantastic
meals
at
La
Pizzaio,
as
we
were
so
impressed
with
it
first
time
that
we
ended
up
cancelling
another
place
we'd
booked
to
return
a
week
later.
What
really
made
it
stand
out
was
the
quality
of
service,
we
were
made
to
feel
really
welcome
by
the
host
(as
a
family
of
five,
sadly
that's
not
always
the
case)
and
noted
that
everyone
else
there
was
treated
with
a
really
personal
touch.
The
owner
(who
spoke
perfect
English)
took
the
time
to
explain
the
specials
available
and
sold
us
on
a
top
class
burrata
to
share
(CAD
29)
which
we
likely
wouldn't
have
chosen
without
the
recommendation.
The
pizzas
were
excellent,
quite
light
with
a
thin
base,
and
with
a
plethora
of
toppings
to
choose
from.
The
salads
that
some
of
our
party
had
were
excellent
too,
as
were
the
desserts
-
I
went
for
the
signature
dessert
of
the
restaurant
-
a
Mars
bar
creme
brulee.
There
was
a
good
selection
of
drinks
including
craft
beers
on
draught.
Be
warned,
however,
the
cocktails
are
lethal!
The
first
time
we
went,
having
arrived
on
the
train
(its
a
two
minute
walk
from
the
station)
it
was
pouring
with
rain
and
we
had
five
suitcases
with
us.
The
owner
went
above
and
beyond
to
source
us
a
large
taxi
-
which
wasn't
easy!
All
in
all
I
would
highly
recommend,
if
we
didn't
live
3,000
miles
away
we
would
be
back
every
week!
I
would
advise
booking
as
the
place
is
fairly
small,
with
just
a
few
tables.
It's
the
sort
of
place
you
might
walk
past
from
the
outside,
but
trust
me
-
you
shouldn't!
