Absolutely phenomenal food and amazing atmosphere! Very unique and exceptionally good pizza. The chocolate creme brule was an amazing way to end the evening. The owner was incredibly personable and can't wait to go back!

I know you're reading this because you're looking for a place to eat. Mission accomplished, put your phone down, grab all your people and get down to La Pizzaio ASAP. Quite possibly the best pizza my wife and I have ever eaten. It redefined pizza. Seriously. Those crispy cheese corners you're supposed to "eat like a chip" - my goodness. It's this tiny little place with about 6 tables, very intimate and welcoming. Everything from the mixed drinks, to the coffee, to the dessert right through to the service was absolute perfection. This will be a most stop location anytime we are in Quebec and a place I'd be proud to bring anyone. And beyond the food, the owner and our server - that man is a national treasure, I'd come here just for the great service even if he is a Pittsburgh Steelers fan!

Love the place. The owner is very attentive to his clients and even catered for my Vegan diet with a special vegan pizza! A must visit when in Quebec city!

This place is AMAZING! Seems to be a family run place, the staff is so warm, friendly and very accommodating. We arrived early for our reservation ( poor planning on my part) and they squeezed us in. The service was incredible. Good wine, quality food, very unique pizza! Highly recommend.

Can pizzas leave you speechless? Go to this place and you’ll find the answer is yes. Few adjectives can accurately describe how outstanding, unique, and delicious the food is at this cozy pizza place. Marco, the owner, warmly described each dish we ordered and his companion, the chef, put love into each appetizer and pizza we had. Fresh ingredients put on top of perfectly baked, light and crispy pizzas made for an unforgettable culinary experience. And don’t forget the cocktails which were wonderful. A “wow” kind of place. Go here!

One of the must places to eat from when you visit Quebec City. I have never had pizzas like this before. i really liked the energy of their owner, he took his time in explaining us the menu and his suggestions were really good. The complimentary starter was awesome and the pizzas also came fast and tasted really good.

Delicious small pizzas with all kinds of unique ingredients. Everything was delicious. The owner/server, Marco, was very nice. We were quite shell-shocked by the bill.

Excellent resto! Had a recent dinner at Pizzaio while visiting Québec City & we were throughly impressed. There was a delicious little amuse-bouche, followed by a splendid burrata for entrée (there is a daily special menu which changes regularly, and our entrée was chosen from that). This was followed by our main course of pizza - both the mushroom and the pomodoro were sensational. We sat at the bar because we didn’t have reservations, and only got lucky to be able to do so because we arrived very early. It was a Friday night but nonetheless reservations are a good idea. A number of potential clients were turned away due to lack of space. From our vantage point we watched the owner prepare drinks and manage the guests, the service, the phone orders, and table service/cleanup. Somehow he was able to juggle all of it without problems. In the meantime, his family was hard at work in the kitchen making delicious items. I highly recommend this small, immaculately run, family restaurant in a lovely part of Vieux-Québec. It was a pleasure to eat there and we will certainly be back!

This place is a little gem. We had pasta and appetizers, and beer and wine. The pizzas that others ordered looked great. The owner was our server and was so informative and welcoming. Go here, you’ll enjoy it a lot.

A hidden gem in Quebec City! We went there for dinner on the busy weekend of winter carnival only because all other restaurants we called were fully occupied. And we came out with an amazing and unforgettable food taste dining experience! Marco and his wife sure know how to make you feel comfortable and are cheerful. It's a rather small restaurant so call before going. We had e different pastas and their creme Brule dessert. The pastas are truly unique and probably unlike you have had before! The taste come through in layers and is very balanced and is not at all overpowered by the sauce as is typical. Dessert was also very well made and we enjoyed everything! Highly recommended!

My girlfriend and I had travelled from Toronto and we wanted to experience Quebec cuisine. After reading some review we settled on Pizzaio and I can tell you they deserve a full 5 stars. They are a small and exclusive family owned and staffed 20 seat restaurant situated just outside of Old Quebec City ( I suggest making reservations). We ordered wine, appetizers a main course and deserts. All courses were some of the best we have had, you simply will not be disappointed !

This restaurant deserves its own michelin star!! I really love pizza. I have had many different kinds of pizzas around the world, but these folks take pizza to a whole different level that probably no one can ever imagine! Best quality ingredients and best food. This is an experience that I will keep coming back for in quebec city every time. The place is run by owners(geniuses) that are passionate about their art. The burrata, pizza and the cheese and maple flan dessert were all just out of this world. They provided the bites that were complimentary which were fantastic as well. Just ask the owner Marco for recommendation and you can never go wrong.

Perfect place for pizza lovers. I could have have given 4.75 stars if there was an option just because of Tiramisu proportion for the price.

Phenomenal pizza, we ordered online for a 530 pick up as we had a 545 train to catch, the service was amazing. They got us our pizza and we had a lovely supper on the train. The pizza is amazing and one of a kind with cheese flowing over the sides to make a beautiful culinary experience highly recommend!!!

This is the place to go. Amazing food and atmosphere. The owners are lovely and you feel like you are eating in their home. The cesar salad was the best I've ever had and the pizzas are a must have. We're visiting Quebec and have this on the list to come back to.

We had two fantastic meals at La Pizzaio, as we were so impressed with it first time that we ended up cancelling another place we'd booked to return a week later. What really made it stand out was the quality of service, we were made to feel really welcome by the host (as a family of five, sadly that's not always the case) and noted that everyone else there was treated with a really personal touch. The owner (who spoke perfect English) took the time to explain the specials available and sold us on a top class burrata to share (CAD 29) which we likely wouldn't have chosen without the recommendation. The pizzas were excellent, quite light with a thin base, and with a plethora of toppings to choose from. The salads that some of our party had were excellent too, as were the desserts - I went for the signature dessert of the restaurant - a Mars bar creme brulee. There was a good selection of drinks including craft beers on draught. Be warned, however, the cocktails are lethal! The first time we went, having arrived on the train (its a two minute walk from the station) it was pouring with rain and we had five suitcases with us. The owner went above and beyond to source us a large taxi - which wasn't easy! All in all I would highly recommend, if we didn't live 3,000 miles away we would be back every week! I would advise booking as the place is fairly small, with just a few tables. It's the sort of place you might walk past from the outside, but trust me - you shouldn't!

Absolutely amazing!! I cannot recommend this place enough - the service, the atmosphere & the food were phenomenal. Probably the best restaurant I have ever been to. You need to try their burrata and any of their pizzas. So unique and delicious. Cannot wait to come back all the way from Toronto!

I really wanted to love this place. My husband and I took the train from Montreal to Quebec and stopped here for lunch when we arrived. We had a great meal, good cocktails, and a fun conversation concerning FIFA and the World Cup with the gentleman who I assume was the owner. We had such a good time that we decided to have lunch there again on our way out of town two days later. Unfortunately, when we arrived, the doors were locked, and the attached sign was posted on the door. My French isn't great, but it seems to me that the sign said they would be closed "that night". But we were there at 12:45, when they should have been open for lunch. Worse, we peeked in the window and saw people inside, who ignored us and didn't even bother to come to the door to apologize or offer an explanation. We decided to eat at the Asian place next door, then once again stopped by Pizzaio before we headed to the train station. The door was still locked, there were still people inside, and they still chose to ignore us completely. The pizza on day one was very good, but their behavior was pretty disrespectful. Terribly disappointed.

My friends and I recently visited Quebec City. We wanted to eat pizza so we googled pizza place near me. Pizzaio was close to us and had good reviews so we decided to try it. We loved it. The place it’s small and cozy. The owners are super attentive and friendly. We all shared a Cobb salad and each of us got a pizza ( they are individual). The pizza was delicious, thin crust and the right ratio sauce/ cheese. If you are in Quebec City and are craving pizza please go there!!

10 out of 10 - everything is fresh. A great family business with remarkable service and fantastic food! Small cozy dining area, where you are treated like extended family.

The owner, Marco, has a passion for food which is unparalleled. The freshness of the ingredients and the unique presentation of the food leaves one impressed beyond doubt and very fulfilled. Can't wait to come back to Quebec for this pizza.

AMAZING! This is a gem of a place and delicious food everyone should try! We were a large group (about 10 people). I originally booked for 7 but we had a few more coming. The owner and server treated us with so much kindness and were very attentive! I ordered a soup because due to health issues I couldn't have a big meal and it was wonderful! Homemade! The desserts also are fantastic! We had such a lovely time eating, chatting in this beautiful family run restaurant! It felts like the perfect ambiance: cozy, not too loud, less rushed and more genuine! Very different then the main chain restaurants on the busy streets. Highly recommended! Will surely return! Thank you!

We enjoyed the most lovely evening. The pizzas are unique and delicious but the Caesar salad was my favorite. The owner’s attention to each table enhanced the experience. We would definitely return.

Incroyable! Marco personally answered the phone, and comfortably answered my questions when making our reservation. He asked that we contact him if we’re to be late, which I did. “Your table will be waiting for you, madame”. No pressure, didn’t make us feel hurried. We were greeted with such warmth. Marco answered our dinner questions with interest & enthusiasm. The flavours played with our palate-caprese salad (unique & incredible); nothing on this world compares to the pizzas; and the Mars bar creme brûlée- out of this world! We will most definitely return. Thank you to Marco & his team!

I was walking into this place thinking its just like any other pizza restaurant. When I got the pizza, the shape was different and toppings were fresh and you can taste all the toppings. The base is fried cheese and less bready so u don't get the feeling stuffed. I highly recommend this place and this is my number one pizza on my list.
