I went very close to closing time and the employee served me and catered to my needs. I had the 10 piece chef selection and it was incredible. I got 5 pieces deep fried too.

The service here felt like we were dining in a fine restaurant, waiter was very attentive to our needs. We ordered two poke bowls and a plate with two salmon sashimi, it was so delicious and melted in the mouth. Truly a hidden gem in a beautiful place! 🍣

perfect experience - the front counter and chefs were very thoughtful of our gluten allergies, custom made rolls and delivered excellence (more impressive as I was terrible at ordering). their roll style is a bit unique - think fluffy/chewy rice with the fish but the quality and taste were on point. We would absolutely recommend and return again soon

Quick, fresh, delicious sushi. I love that they ask you what you like if you’re unsure of what to order and cater to your preferences. My favourite piece was the scallop. A lot of restaurants will lightly flame it but I prefer it raw and that’s how this place does it as well. Soft, sweet, melt in your mouth. Definitely get lunch or dinner here if you’re in the area. I will return on my next visit to the city

The best sushi I’ve ever had in my life. Highly recommend this place. Fish is so fresh, so sushi and sashimi taste fantastic.

Decent sushi. Wasn't blown away like the other reviews. I like the deep fried ones though

It is probably strange to get sushi in QC city, but they are technically closer to the ocean than Toronto. Though they sourced their fish from Montreal. It's a nice spot, fish was fresh, for the price point the portions are nice for sashimi. We got some scallops, and they were ocean scallops or they seemed to be. As they were large and round. The rolls were chef's special and they were quite tasty. I am still not a huge fan of cream cheese in rolls, but for what you get it was good. I think portion wise it is good, and it may hit a sushi craving while you're in the city.

Good food! I wish the cucumber and carrots were cut smaller/thinner, though

Fantastic sushi in a simple place at a fair price. Take the chef's suggestion - you can't go wrong! Staff is v friendly. Mad rush at noon during weekdays - better to go after 1pm.

LOVED this place. Came here twice in Feb 2024, had the 12 or 14 pcs chefs choice and I loved everything. Most places I’ve gone to - Vancouver, Montreal anywhere really - tend to include a few “simple” rolls like California or one of the maki rolls (just cucumber or just tuna) in a combo platter - it’s cheaper and less time consuming for them to make. But in my experience this place use only what are normally considered the “deluxe” rolls for their chefs’ choice platter. Umami heaven. I just loved everything. I think I took twice as long as usual to savour everything, haven’t done that in a long time. I only wish Montreal had a place like this. Service is super friendly too! I highly recommend the chefs plate, go for 12 or 14 to get a variety.

Nothing to say. Just highly recommend!!!👍👍👍 Nice vegetation option! I ordered 14 pieces, but I think 12-14 pieces might be enough. But anyway, really recommend it tho.

Absolutely loved this little sushi restaurant. The food was so tasty. The staff and chef were fantastic and so helpful with my gluten intolerance. Highly recommend. We try sushi in every city we visit and this was hands-down close to the top.

Fantastic sushi, amazing hospitality! We enjoyed lunch at Masaru so much, we came back the next day. They take so much pride in quality and presentation - definitely worth a stop. Or two.

Excellent food quality, only the freshest ingredients! Super friendly staff. At peak times you may need a bit of patience but it‘s totally worth ANY wait.

Very nice place. The menù is simple, but everything we tried was fresh and delicious. Service is good. The two guys who work here manage to create a nice atmosphere simply with their relaxed and friendly attitude. You will be happy to have stopped by.

One of the best if not THE best sushi I have ever had. Chefs choice is always great and you can request modifications (ex: no raw fish) as you please. Amazing and unique flavour combinations, will go back every time I come!

My partner and I love sushi and couldn’t wait to try Masaru having read the reviews. It exceeded our expectations. Don’t judge a book by its cover, the restaurant itself is very understated, but the chef more than compensates with his sheer skill. Our maki rolls were out of this world. We’ve eaten at Michellin starred restaurants like Heston Blumenthall’s ‘Dinner’ in London, and this was up with the best of them. If you love sushi do not miss the opportunity to go here! Just waiting for him to come to the U.K. now…. Lol.

Amazing sushi. The chef is very creative and artistic and the fish is so fresh and delicious. Coming from NYC, we know our sushi…and this was great!

This is the second time I visited this place. This is not a fancy, pretentious place, but a very cozy, nice, with just two people cooking and serving. The food is really delicious! Also I like that the cook chooses sushi for you, with all the variety it’s always a pain for me two choose something. I’ll definitely visit Masaru Sushi again next time I’m in Québec. Merci!

Delicious veg sushi for an incredible price. The chef's choice was absolutely on point. Had to wait a bit for our order but we popped into the bar next to the restaurant for a drink and it was 200% worth the wait!
