👍👍 Outstanding food! I had the raw scallops to start which were not only fresh and delicious but a much bigger portion than any scallop starter at a fine dining restaurant (and I've had a few). My main was the arctic char with wild rice which was also very good, and was tasty whilst also seeming reaso... People often mention good, great, pastries,

Outstanding food! I had the raw scallops to start which were not only fresh and delicious but a much bigger portion than any scallop starter at a fine dining restaurant (and I've had a few). My main was the arctic char with wild rice which was also very good, and was tasty whilst also seeming reasonably healthy! I also had a very nice glass of local Quebecois sparkling wine. The service was very friendly.

Great gourmet products and price. I just had what probably was my best ham and cheese qische ever. Croissants are outstanding! Just wish the round tables were a little larger. Populated, modern, good music, chill place. Memorable breakfast.

Cappuccino is great. The chocolate croissants are amazing and probably one of the best I ever had. Highly recommended.

Swoon-worthy pastries and prepared foods make this upscale takeaway spot the #1 foodie destination for me in QC. I come here every day they’re open (four days, Thursday through Sunday). Food in touristy cities is often mediocre quality and not worth the calories. (I know this, coming from Washington, D.C.!) But here, at Chez Boulay Comptoir Boréal, the pastries, sandwiches and savory tarts are worth it. In addition to the croissants and tarts (these are multi-layered, partly crunchy - try the chocolate with raspberries- OMG), also try things like the tourtière (meat pie), lobster and shrimp sandwiches, mushroom slices – honestly, everything is just superb. Because I’m living in QC for the summer, I take the food home and eat it there – or prepare some of the frozen foods for visiting friends (e.g., the bolognese - OMG - with spaghetti I prepare, or the carrot soup). If I lived in QC year-round, I would be buying their frozen items daily. Seriously. And I love it that each day there are different foods because this place, like its famous restaurant sibling (Chez Boulay, around the corner), is all about seasonal/native foods – which I love. Finally, you can get alcohol here, too - local beers and cider, mostly. Bonus!

I highly recommend you stop by this place and grab some items to go! It’s such a beautiful place, I wish they had seating options as well. There’s lots of pastries and other food items you can buy, their coffee menu is great too. The service was perfect as well.

Lovely pâtisserie hidden between the hotel and Ashton. I’m surprised that I missed such a nice place all these time!

what a wonderful little counter pastry place. food was great here. and the decorations just beautiful. only thing about this place is if someone opens the doors and its -10 c outside, omg the cold is just hits you even if we were sitting at the furthest seats. please do something about that cold draft! loved the pork belly and the salad.

Awesome cafe experience. We ordered an Americano and a latte with some pastries. The coffees were very good. Flavorful. The pastries were perfect. Great texture and sweetness. Stuffed croissant was fantastic as well. Perfectly crispy on the outside! Would highly recommend.

Phenomenal service and quality. Quiches are great. Desserts are great. Coffees are great. No complaints! If you have a sweet tooth, you must try the “Surprise” Chocolate dessert. It was perfect!

If you couldn’t get into Chez Boulay, or needed a quick bite and coffee break, this is a great place to drop by. Service is friendly and quick, and the food was delicious. If you’re eating in, grab a seat and they’ll bring you the food (so do leave them a tip). Now this is really just a comptoir, so don’t expect a vast menu or great many seating area. A lot of people come and grab food to go. But for the things they do have, you can taste the quality of flavour and texture. I took a salmon feuilleté and I could have gone for a lot more because everything looked so good.

The best croissants we've had in Quebec province.

Only 4 stars as selection was very limited however it is an amazing bakery. The two things we purchased were absolutely amazing, a maple custard cream puff and a cranberry cheesecake! So good…espresso could be a tad stronger but that’s a personal preference! Go and enjoy!

Had an absolutely delicious breakfast from here, the quiche was sumptuous and the croissant was light and buttery. I also got their fir-flavored hot chocolate, which really did have a pine tree taste! I know that sounds strange but it was really good! We also got to see the baker rolling out croissants which was super fun.

Small family owned patisserie (just this location) with pastries, deserts, breakfast sandwiches, lattes and more that blow away the big chains in the area. Ate here every day during our stay. Don't miss it!

An incredible dining experience at a French bistro located in the heart of Old Quebec. Our family ordered 3 French onion soups (cappuccino style) and ordered another one to split after the original order! Wonderful service - only have good things to say about this establishment.

A really exceptional meal. Great cocktails, excellent wine list, and the food really made creative use of some local and seasonal ingredients. A sea buckthorn pie, how great is that?!

A selection of beautiful and artful pastries that taste as good as the look. Super friendly and helpful staff.

I had their apple pies, it was neat and just $3 which in this economy is pretty good. They also have a really good selection of non alcoholic wines. And I had a nice convo with their staff, lovely people indeed
