I've stayed here before and we came back because it was so great last time, but this visit was terrible. The pool area was full of kids, which is normally fine, but one family had a child who was in complete meltdown, screaming and crying at the top of his lungs, and they were never asked to leave the area. We decided to head to our room for the night and try again in the morning, but unfortunately no one had cleaned the pool area and there was garbage and used bandages stuck to the ground, both laundry hampers were full of dirty towels, and none were available so I asked the front desk for some, they assured me some would be down shortly, so I started swimming, after 20 minutes I was ready to get out but the towels were still not there, so I went back up to front desk to ask again, where someone eventually found me towels, after I stood dripping in their lobby for 5 minutes. I asked to speak with a manager about how unsanitary it was, but was told no manager was available. Our room has a broken toilet that was running all night, and the temperature control did not work correctly, so it was either freezing or boiling, making it very hard to sleep. Very frustrating experience. I genuinely don't like to complain, but this was so far outside the norm, and the pool area was very unsanitary, so hopefully the water was at least properly tested. Edited to add: I did speak to the manager before checking out, and she was extremely unbothered about the sanitation of the pool area, it was honestly strange, she essentially said, 'what can I do about it? I guess I will talk to my staff?' she definitely didn't take note of the issues with the room, so the next person will still have to deal with the toilet issue, I guess. To be clear, I genuinely don't think the morning staff was at fault, it seemed like whoever was in charge the night before completely dropped the ball, and I think it took them that long to get me towels because no one had bothered to wash any the night before and they were totally out.

ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMENDED Hokey team player who occupied most of the rooms were making TREMENDOUS SHOUTING, RUNNING FOOLING AROUND. Shame on you kiddos, also parents who has not teach them how to behave. We've heard the guardians giggling. Hotel staff did not do anything about it. Only allowed to check in at 5 p.m. Broken Elevators. Useless receptionist, have not explain anything about the room hotel/where to go. Extremely noisy pools, from check in until 9 pm I only hear adults & kids screaming. Had called The receptionist, and he said will send someone to asked them to be quiet. And nothing happened, the people in the pool even louder. The receptionist Rahim, was also quiet rude, when we check in he did not explain that seconds bed attached to walls so one of us had to ask him. When we asked him, he said "Let me finish my sentence.." So we advised to better go somewhere else with better service & receptionist who has better attitude & relaxed room. Disappointing from the beginning till the end.

Definitely not a 4 star level hotel, not even 3. It looks amazing in pictures, not so much in reality. Hotel needs a serious deep cleaning. I picked it because of design and the gym. Everything is very tiny and cramped here. Room was very tiny and more beaten than pictures let on, foyers were super dirty, gym was excessively dirty and very beaten down. The equipment was very old aside from the treadmill, since that is what I needed the most it would have been fine. BUT I was very annoyed that even though gym hours start early morning they programmed my card not to be able to access it before 8 am. I needed to go to the front desk and ask for someone to let me in. Why? I went to the gym 3 times and they had no towels, no paper to wipe down the equipment and no water. There was garbage left in the gym and the same garbage was smiling at me for the duration of my 3 visits which means nobody attempted to clean the place or replace necessary items. There are only 3 ice machines in the hotel and since the hotel was at full occupancy the machines could not keep up. Unacceptable for a supposedly 4 star hotel. The parking lot is super small and finding a spot later in the evening is very challenging. This is NOT the hotel’s fault but there is major construction in all over Quebec City and getting to this hotel was a major pain.

Beautiful hotel with an incredibly helpful staff. We came during the week, so it was much less busy. Very peaceful at the pool and hot tub. For the most part, we had the place nearly entirely to ourselves. The area is kept incredibly clean, which is very important for this type of setting. The management went above and beyond to be helpful to us as well. The hotel is located close to numerous restaurants as well as a pretty large mall. Not very far from the old city, and quick access to Montmorency etc. Would be a great place to bring kids for sure. I would definitely recommend checking the place out. Follow for more...

Stay was just OK. There was a lack of clothes storage. Room was not designed for a stay more than a few days i guess. The bathroom shower wall had black mold which I addressed to the front desk the 2nd day of my 10 days stay. It has not been corrected ever. While we had a beautiful view on the pool area, the pool itself was very cloudy so much so that they closed it as a result. Once reopened, it seemed like they poured in so much chlorine that my entire room smelled as such. Therefore, still wouldn't use it and was better yet, very cloudy still. Made a change to my room which been overcharged for, if I compare to the other charges before. And last but not least, I had to argue with the front desk manager to get my room cleaned on day no. 4, for the first time since i checked in. I won the argument yet, i was then overcharged for something else. Disappointed ....

The inside is beautiful. I liked the fountain on the outside and the lion statues. The staff were bilingual and friendly. The pool looked big and nice but we didn't end up using it. Our problem was our room. We noticed the smell right away, a strong musty scent. On closer inspection, we realized that the sprinkler at one point must've went off, causing distortion in our floor and the strong smell. The room itself was large and nice. There was tons of mirrors and a cool sliding table where the ironing was stored. There was a mirror for make-up. The bathroom had a hand drier. The shower had a movable head. There were soap dispensers with shampoo, body wash and conditioner. We didn't stay here for long but nobody cleaned our room and all dirty towels were left around. Their parking lot was pretty full on the weekend. It's in a good location but for such a modern looking hotel you'd think they'd take better care of the rooms.

Brutally honest review here.. rooms are falling apart. If you plan on spending some extra cash on getting the room with a balcony to the pool (do yourself a favor and don't) your going to be hearing kids screaming in the pool area until 22:00. The pool area is alright but needs a lot of work... they advertise that they have a sauna but it dosen't work. And if you call the front desk for something expect it in about 48 hours.

Very disappointed. I called the front desk and asked for additional pillows and they said they cannot accommodate because “The hotel is full tonight”. I could not use the TV because a battery was missing from the remote. When I came to my Hotel room for the first time, the door was opened and not even locked. The sink did not drain in my room and the ice machine was broken on my floor. The front desk told me to go to another floor to use the ice machine but it was not working there either. The coffee machine did not work. In the night I asked the front desk for a blanket but they said again “the hotel is full and we only have 50 for the entire hotel” On the website it said there’s a microwave but in my rooms there wasn’t. This hotel did not come with a good experience and was very understaffed. The stay was decent. But definitely not worth the price. Staff was an absolute joke.

This place is ideal for families with kids. They have a beautiful pool and many activities for kids (arcade, small movie theatre and a play room for babies/toddlers). During our stay they had live music in the pool area while we were swimming- very cool vibe! The room is stylish and clean. I liked that it was hard wood flooring and not carpet. The service was also very quick. We asked for more coffee pods and extra towels for the pool and they delivered the items immediately. I would highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Quebec.

Cons: - Tiny gym. Like half the size of a hotel room with low weight dumbbells and a bad cable machine. Don't let photos fool you - pool was extremely crowded and loud, a adults only time would be a good idea - broken lock on door, cleaners only came once - breakfast buffet was extremely overpriced. $20 for eggs, cereal and what looked like store bought pastries. Restaurant in general was bad - price. The quality of the hotel would have been good if it were $80/night, charging $150 is frankly too much Pros: - interior of the hotel was nice - internet was fast - staff were friendly and helpful -

The hotel looks good and has free parking but that's about it... It is NOT a family-friendly hotel, especially not for sport group with kids. Terrible management, rude and annoying employees. Arcade room is a joke, gym is a joke and playroom is a joke. Beds are so uncomfortable you'd be better off sleeping on an inflated matress. Do us a favor and stop lying on your website so families and sport groups don't waste their time at this establishment.

Booked this given the 4 star rating, but was disappointed with the type of room service. We got a room with exterior view, queen bed and a murphy bed. There was no one cleaning the room / making the bed for 3 days despite repeated calls and in person messages at the front desk. We also ran out of shampoo and took more than a day for the shampoo to be refilled. The responsiveness and quality of customer service was poor. The pool and hot spa were good, but the customer service definitely doesn’t justify the hotel being a 4 star hotel.

My partner and I loved our stay at the Hotel Plaza! The room was absolutely lovely and very clean (light blocking curtains were really appreciated too), the hotel had lots of fun amenities and it felt quite luxurious for the price we had paid! The only reason why I wouldn't give a 5 star review was because of the cleaning staff talking very loudly to each other in the hallway in the morning, interrupting our very needed sleep. Other than that, a great hotel to stay at in Québec!

We loved cleanliness of the room, it was available an hour before check in time. Friendly staff, very nice pool, it gives you an European style. Loved the balcony option but we opted to not get one of those rooms because the balcony faces the pool and that would increase the noise. It has a nice elegant atmosphere and quite nice for families w kids.

Very good hotel and excellent front desk service. They were very friendly. Rooms were very clean. Nice indoor pool. Little slippery in the tiles near pool. But otherwise everything wad great. The buffet breakfast was $25. Options were less though.

One of the best stays ever in Quebec (especially after a horrible one near old town). The place is beautiful and clean. They go above and beyond to be welcoming including champagne and treats in our room, staff that remember us. The bed was very comfy. I wish the hot tub was a bit hotter.

Dirty hotel and previous person was correct saying staff don’t care. All exterior doors are unlocked as are all stairwells. In the 3 days I was there I know no one vacuumed and I had to go to the front desk after 30 hours and ask them to please clean up the used dishes in the halls. There was a pile of dirt inside entrance 1 the day I checked in ( 3 days ago) and was still there this morning when I left. I decided on a balcony room which in theory would have been great, and maybe is for some but just heads up, it’s so loud you can’t even think. Everyone seems to enjoy the pool… I think owners or managers think this is a 4 star hotel … don’t let the beautiful pictures of the pool and outside fool you …. The staff are pleasant but only because they get paid, they couldn’t care less otherwise and I can only assume if they get away with it it’s because owners also couldn’t care less, once they have your money. Staff doesn’t wear a uniform and I can’t stress enough how dirty and unkept this hotel is… owners easy fix… buy a vacuum cleaner!! And pay a staff member to go down every hall once an hour and clean/ pick up any papers, Kleenex or dishes lying around …. Have some pride of ownership!!!

The location was good at it was very easy to get to the city. The room was okay but the bathroom was bad. The door wouldn't lock or close fully, and broke once. The bathroom isn't soundproof at all. However, I liked the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash containers on the wall. The maid didn't really do anything.

Good place as a base for a family to visit Quebec. Fun indoor atrium with pool. We stayed on the side with the indoor balconies and I was afraid the noise might be too much, but the balcony is a lovely extension from the room, the doors are pretty good at keeping noise out and sitting "outside" in the morning and evening is quite relaxing, while the kids are still sleeping, playing in the room or going for a swim (if old enough to be good swimmers, the pool is deep).

The hotel was unfortunately a big disappointment. There was absolutely no service at this hotel. The rooms are not cleaned. You have to ask the staff to have the bins in the room emptied and the towels changed. Beyond that, nothing is done in the room. Not even the beds are made up. The cleaning team (if you can call it that) had to be approached and said that if you wanted the room cleaned, you had to explain to reception. This was confirmed at the front desk and we were told that the rooms were generally not cleaned during a stay of several days. We have never experienced so little service in any hotel during our trip to Canada or in any hotel we have ever stayed in. In addition, the hotel is very old and not maintained. it is also extremely noisy. Our air conditioning didn't work in the room and the ventilation in the bathroom was also broken. This is very inconvenient as you cannot open the windows in the room. The ceiling light in the bathroom was also broken so that only the light on the mirror worked. Unfortunately, the room was not clean upon arrival. I could find some hairs in the bed and the towels smelled a bit like mold. The corridors in front of the hotel rooms on the 2nd floor were not cleaned during our stay of several days. Everywhere there were things like paper on the floor that were there the entire duration. The PersonI simply bypasses it. Only the dirty dishes in front of the rooms and the wetness in the elevator (because of the pool) will be removed. Everything else is ignored. I would describe the location of the hotel as bad. the old town of Quebec and the main sights are about 10 kilometers away. So you have to look for a parking space by car in the city. Overall we were very disappointed with this hotel and would not return and would not recommend this hotel to anyone

This Hotel was abousltey the most gorgeous hotel I've ever been in. To start the exterior design looked like a real castle and the interior looked even better. The interior was modern and peaceful. It was just calming to look around. The pool was beautiful with amazing decor. It was an indoor pool with a hot tube. In the afternoon they would light up in beautiful colors. The decor include plants and a large fountain inside of the pool room. There was a aquarium around the corner and a restaurant. Overall was the fanciest hotel I've ever seen in my life.

It was a unpleasent stay the rooms where ok it wasnt a terrible room there is enough room for 2 people but nothing more the bathroom was very small and the shower wasn't big enough. The staff in the hotel resturant was not good they coudlnt get it together and forced us to double pay and pay more than we had bought, the morning after we had went for breakfast and had reservations for 9:30 and only got fed and served at 11:00 which when our food came it some of the dishes were not what we order. There were also people baining and knocking on our doors then running away and running around the hotel. I do not recommend for the price .

Rooms rather small. Some power outlets did not work. Pool is nice but it gets crowded. They play live music by the pool, which is great.

Was a good experience. Buffet was good, room was clean, overall stay was good. I would come back but I did not like the service at the hotel. We ordered the mimosa upgrade and they did not process it until the next day at 130pm. When we asked about it around 1030pm they said to check our room if it arrived but it did not. We went to cancel as we were checking out the next day and they said they could not cancel it until tomorrow, and if it came before they had authorization to cancel, we would be charged. It was back and forth for awhile until they processed the refund in the morning. We also kept asking for late check but no one would give us a straight answer until the last morning.

Rooms were comfy. Service was ok to good. Lots of construction in the area. Sound proofing was terrible. Sitting by the pool was cook concept wise, but the splashing and ambient noise was very, very intrusive in the room with the doors closed.

The hotel itself is really nice, also close to a huge shopping mall. But the service itself wasn't very good, the waiter made us wait for an entire hour when the restaurant had about 3-4 tables sitting... Was hoping for a better experience.

My friend booked this hotel for us for our one night stay in Quebec City on a recent getaway. She had stayed here before and found it comfortable. The check in process was efficient and friendly and Covid protocols were in place. Our vaccine certificates were also verified. The lobby is welcoming and furnished in contemporary style with quirky high backed leather chairs and a fireplace. There is a coffee bar just past reception which is convenient if you are waiting in the lobby. The room was extremely clean, I was especially impressed with the crispness and cleanliness of the sheets and towels. The room was a good size and had everything you need for a comfortable stay including a coffee maker, iron and hairdryer. However, it was unclear what was in the different coloured pods for the machine (coffee, tea, ???) So it was a bit of a gamble what you would get 😁 The ironing board is conveniently located in a drawer under the coffee station, however the metal plate that should have been on the outside of the drawer had fallen off, so I only discovered this by chance. The bathroom was clean but there was a little bit of black mould in the shower around the door seal on the tub. I personally found the bathroom mirror lights a bit dim. We had a great nights sleep in the queen size bed, the mattress and pillows were very comfy. We would definitely return to The Plaza, it was good value for the rate we paid.

I booked two rooms on September 17th through Expedia.Com and checked in on 18th . First of all waited a person how knows English and after that they gave us keys but we were surprised to see the condition of beds >The drawers were coming out ,very bad quality shampoo and shower gel very bad experience > be ready for poor service from this hotel

I really enjoyed my stay here, even though a few things were closed, I was able to make a reservation for the pool and get a later checkout time. The hotel itself is beautiful with its decor and style, and the rooms are spacious and very comfortable. I love the bed! A quick drive to the Old Port of Quebec and pretty much anywhere else! We had room service for breakfast and as a vegan I didn’t have many options, so I would recommend the hotel get on that! Would be perfect.

It was OK. Definitely not a 4 star. Maximum 3. First off, it is so not like it looks on the pictures. Not just ugly looking but it's super outdated which would've been fine if it was advertised as such but it's not. The bathroom was very small, not counter space and it was a tub shower which was really high to get in! Also another detail, the AC vent was aiming right at the window which made the curtain chain hit the wall which is super annoying so we had to find a way to tie it up. The staff was really nice but another thing (might be due to lack of staff) was, there's a snack bar which was closed so someone has to come unlock it if you wanna get a sandwich which was 4 days old. All little details that add up which makes it far from a 4 star. Unfortunately will not return.

Welcoming, helpful staff. Beautiful and clean room. We had arrived shortly before a tour bus came in and were worried that it would get hectic. The staff were expecting the bus and had the process in place to efficiently and warmly welcome the group. Will definitely stay here again.

An excellent5 story hotel with a very courteous and attentive staff. My wife and I were there due to a mandatory 10 COVID isolation period for international travels. The hotel has an isolation area set aside for those of us who had the misfortune of getting infected while traveling elsewhere in Canada. Meals were served only by room service. We had a daily, wide variety of 3 meals/day. High quality food at the appropriate temperatures. Once our isolation ended, we had readily available taxi service to Old Quebec and the airport. I can only guess that the service and stay for regular guest is as good or better than the high quality of what we received.

Nothing special! Just a typical hotel. It was clean. I expected more in terms of service. I didn’t like the room decoration. Free parking was the only good thing. Even not a good wifi. Limited device and for better speed it needs payment.

Good location and overall the hotel is very nice. If you're an adult traveling with older teenage children, this is NOT the hotel for you. I've traveled my whole life, stayed many places, never stayed somewhere SO loud. Kids running the halls all hours, screaming outside your room. Maybe it's just the culture, hard to say. But if you're not up by 7am and don't stay up until after 10pm or later, you will for sure get no rest. Noise is relentless. I wish i could record it now from my room and upload it to this review thats how bad it is! And don't let the pool/hot tub excite you. The hotel has a much bigger capacity than the size of the pool. We went down a couple days and turned back around. People sitting on top of one another in the hot tub. Yuck. Best time seems to be 7am-10am when everyone is at breakfast. Beyond that you are SOL. The staff were nice but you have to wait just to ask a question. There's always long lines at the desk and not enough staff to handle how busy it is. Concierge desk in the entryway NEVER has personnel present. Inconvenient more than anything. The attached restaurant, Ginger, that is another story altogether. We got in at about 7pm after leaving Chicago at 7am. We were tired and starving. The host said the kitchen was extremely short staffed and since we did not have a reservation could not seat us for 1-1.5 hours. We asked if we could sit at the bar until a table was ready. After an hour, we kept seeing people come in and were being seated. I approached the host and asked how long. He insisted we told him we did not want a table and then told me we could not order off the menu because it was too late and "some things were not delivered" but that he was going to give us free burgers. What a joke. I highly recommend Quebec City. It's gorgeous. If you want rest and relaxation, this is not the hotel for you. If you have small kids and don't mind the constant noise, you've found the right place!

Make sure to use HoteITully.ᴄᴏm when booking your stay. They compare hundreds of booking websites and typically will have prices a lot cheaper compared to others! You're welcome :)! This resort is one of the most well known in the area. I have been staying here for a very long time. If you stay for a few nights you won't be disappointed. Welcoming, helpful staff. Beautiful and clean room. We had arrived shortly before a tour bus came in and were worried that it would get hectic. The staff were expecting the bus and had the process in place to efficiently and warmly welcome the group. Will definitely stay here again.

Family friendly, lots of activities for kids! except that nothing crazy... No towels on our presidential suite(500$/night), the floor was wavy as if it was water damaged, the couch was heavily damaged(imitation leather), the shower was leaking by the door all over the bathroom, the pool was not well maintained and the spa was disgusting. There was trash on every floor just hanging in the hallways and even some old disgusting mattress next to the elevator. Breakfast not included and it costed me 220$ for 6.

Very comfortable and clean room, kind service. The short-staff make it so that the pool is not open most of the day and beware the restaurant!! Waited almost an hour for a salad, same thing for the breakfast…

I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at this hotel and I must say that it was an extremely disappointing and frustrating stay. Room was below average and attitude of receptionist wasn't welcoming. One incident that truly irked me was when I requested room service. Instead of providing the service I expected, I was told to come down and collect the food and wine glasses myself. This was unacceptable, as room service should entail the convenience of having items delivered to my room. Having to go downstairs defeated the purpose and convenience I was seeking, and it was an inconvenience I did not anticipate or appreciate. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a peaceful and comfortable stay, as it fails to meet even the most basic expectations of a quality accommodation establishment.

Place is good, nothing fancy. Cons - Severe shortage of workforce, my room was cleaned once in 4 days. No staff for room service in the evenings. No buffet breakfast. They’re all a nice bunch of people but seriously short of people to deliver a great experience. I stayed for 2 weeks and towards the end I had to ask for a mop myself to clean my room (though they sent someone immd after) I had to ask my company to put me up in any other place henceforth. Pros - rooms are decent, location is great if you wanna be close to the malls etc. it’s not close to downtown so if you’re a tourist, I’d suggest you look for another place.

Rooms were small, clean but lots of signs of wear. Restaurant was pricey and breakfast brunch was the same calibet you would expect from a lower quality hotel. Most of the equipment in the fitness centre was out of order. The pool was acceptable but very cold. not at all what I was expecting….

The beds are so uncomfortable and the pillows are paper thin. Food at the Ginger resto is garbage for the price you pay and service is slow. Smells like heavy chlorine when u walk into the building. Would not recommend.

This is the worst hotel ever if I could leave 0 stars I would whatever you do don’t come here go to any hotel that’s not run by jaro . I always stay at 4 star hotel and this is by far the worse I’ve ever seen a 3 star I stayed in was better than this . Customer service is so bad they look down at you and aren’t helpful at all the hotel doesn’t look like the pictures it’s so much smaller . The food at their restaurant is so bad and the people working at the restaurant and the hotel are so incompetent . They hire 16 year olds . Their beds are the most uncomfortable beds i’ve ever slept in especially for a hotel under the blanket the entire bed is yellow . Somebody came to clean our room and only cleaned one of the beds . You’re woken up every single day by the cleaning personnel talking in the hall in their talkie walkies very loudly in Spanish . And when you ask them for anything they say they don’t speak English or French . You’re also woken up by kids running down the halls . The sauna hasn’t worked since 2022 based on reviews and we were there on January 2024 so that’s two years that they had to fix it half of the machines at the gym don’t work . The hot tub is full of children when all other hotels limit it to 18+ so the tub is full of pee . And the pool is so cold for an inside pool . All in all very bad hotel and I’ve travelled everywhere I got bsitef
