Nestled in Quebec, the Ambassador Hotel exudes charm and is currently undergoing rejuvenating renovations. While the exterior might not initially catch your eye, step inside to discover a different world. The rooms are a sanctuary of comfort, each boasting a charming balcony view that adds a touch of serenity to your stay. One of the standout features is the indoor swimming area, a tranquil oasis that feels like a slice of tropical paradise right in the heart of Quebec. The enclosed setting adds to the allure, creating an atmosphere of relaxation and luxury. Moreover, the hotel's location is a definite plus, being just a short 20-minute drive from the bustling streets of downtown Quebec City. This proximity offers a perfect balance between retreat and accessibility, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a peaceful escape without being too far from the city's attractions. In conclusion, despite the current facade renovations, the Ambassador Hotel in Quebec is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. With its serene rooms, picturesque views, and enchanting swimming area, this hotel promises a rejuvenating experience that lingers long after you've checked out.

Awful Hotel, located in a carpark out of town. Stairs and carpet filthy. Rooms were dated and dirty. Air-conditioning did not work. No dining facilities. Checked out within 2 hrs.

this place was terrible the keys for the room constantely stopped working, when you asked staff for stuff they did not bring it to your room sometimes even though they said they would, rooms never get cleaned, elevator looks and feels like its bearly working it feels safer to take the stairs, the pool and hot tub are nice but for the gym you have to get a card every 24 hours, there was bugs in my room big spiders, the tvs bearly come with anything, was going to buy a hdmi cord for it so i could hook my laptop up to the tv, got a room with a balconey but its weird cause its loud and i like to relax here but there is always kids from the pool so its not great and it feels kinda weird to have a view of everyone from here. The front of the hotel looks fancy and nice and welcoming as of when you get in the room its cramped small and not very nice, in my room bathroom they left someones old soap in the shower.

This is barely a Motel...not a hotel 1.) they do not clean your room 2.) you have 24 hours to use the gym then you can no longer use the gym facilities. 3.) no water bottles 4.) the elevator feels like it's hanging by a thread. 5.) only 1 employee is working at night and there was no way for them to help or have anything sent up to your room 6.) no ironing table in the room. Don't stay here.

    - AC incredibly loud (62 dB), too much humidity and mold around window, wallpaper coming off, cleaning employees seem to be living there with their family and doesn’t speak a word of english or french, room door doesn’t always lock properly, brand new 4k TV but signal is 4:3 and analog, Wifi is inadequate. - pool is nice and clean, cheap price Jean-Guy Sylvain, owner of many hotels must be real proud of that one…

Do not recommend! Got my room and it was not even cleaned, garbage all over, towels dirty, etc. Changed room, no heat in the room 15 degree and heater would not work. No hot water and shower broken on top of mold ++ on the roof and by the window. Changed room again. Heater also not working….lots of clients left hotel for mold and no heat. Pictures are not representative at all….

I have stayed in this hotel many times and had good experiences in the past. The pool is nice and the location is great. This year's visit will be my last though. Room was not clean and we found bed bugs on the bed in the morning. We asked for a new room and it took them 12 hours to get it ready, no apologies or offer of compensation. They offered to clean the room and not switch us!!!! So chances are they did not fumigate and just put someone else in the room. Never again. (2 stars are for previous visits, this one gets negative stars)

Room was unclean, found a hair on the pillow case, the duvet didn't have cover only two sheets. A big stain on the side of the mattress. The fridge door was smudged with fingerprints. The mattress is very uncomfortable, bed creaks every time a person rolls. Air conditioning very loud. I will not come back to this hotel. The only good thing was the location, very close to the center.

All was well until I woke up to some strangers walking into my room!! To start off the advertised prices are grossly underestimated. 250$ for a night’s stay but being peel season I figured it was expected. The room was clean and very basic. The bed didn’t even have a fitted sheet and The water took forever to get hot. All of that however was tolerable. What wasn’t tolerable was them sending up other patrons to the room (double booking the room) their cards didn’t work the first time to open the door and so they went down and the front desk, instead of looking into why the room was locked, just recorded their keys and voila, open door. THANK GOD I was in the room or these other people could have stollen everything! To add insult to injury, when I talked with the front desk, all they said was sorry it was a system error. Asked to speak to the manager and was told that the manager will not be in until after I am gone. They refuse to do anything about this loss of trust. I do not recommend staying here.!

They have an indoor garden with a pool and games for kids!!! Wow, you rent a room for your family and anither family and you go swimming in the afternoon, you go out for dinner and you enjoy the pool until later that evening. You go home after. Very nice set up

We booked this hotel because of the pool area, and it did not disappoint. The pool was clean, quiet and warm. The hot tub was great, and I loved the little waterfall. The greenery and the birds add such a wonderful touch. The front desk staff were very nice and helpful. The beds were pretty comfortable. I would have liked a bathtub, but our room was only equipped with a shower. Pressure wasn't great, but at least there was hot water. Will most definitely return.

Arrived at the hotel and received good welcome service. Entered the out dated elevator with damaged flooring and very loud metal grinding noise from the elevator as it moved, jumped and bumped around with no safety certificate anywhere to be found. Walked out to dirty flooring in the hallways with cleaning staff working with stuff everywhere, sheets and dirty towels thrown everywhere. Entered our room and found no towels. Bed sheets had stains and blankets were ripped, pillows smelt like sour milk/yogurt. Went to use the bathroom and toilet was broken and would not flush. Toilet seat broken and toilet paper holder broken. Fixed the toilet myself but wouldn’t turn off afterwards. Called down and asked front reception for towels but was advised the truck that was suppose to deliver never showed and to go to the pool and gather pool towels. Bathroom has black looking mold through the tiles and walls needing some work. Bedroom has what looks like brown spots/possible fecal matter on the ceiling. Went to use the door that we share between our rooms and door handles are ripped off and damaged. Went down to the pool and fire exits were bolted shut - the stairs exiting the pool were loose to the point you safely cannot use them to exit. The pool area is beautiful and the birds and greenery add a beautiful touch. Honestly, I would encourage you not to stay here. This hotel needs to take a deep look at its service and quality of product being provided to its customers. If you are coming here to enjoy the pool - fantastic - otherwise go somewhere else

The rooms were way too cold, the in room heater didnt work regardless of the temperature set on the the screen. Several people from the tour I was in got a cold while staying at this hotel. The rooms are drab and the service mediocre. The room wasnt cleaned during my 2 day stay either. Low effort. There are probably a ton better options nearby.

Gf was here for work. You only get one internet connexion for one device for your room. They ask you to pay 10$ more for another one. I can't imagine being a family here. The floors are elevated from use. The internet connexion was AWFUL. Couldn't get a grip from my girlfriend in a call, she would always disconnect because of it. Seriously, who in 2024 can't get a reliable internet connexion in a hotel ? This only shows what kind of service you're gonna get from this hotel.

First time we stayed and have no complaints except please leave some soap in the shower. Room is a good size and it was cleaned like most of us expected.

I think the most important thing about a good hotel is a few simple facts: Cleanliness, Comfort, and reasonable rate paid for one or two night sleep. Being clean doesn't mean someone clean the room every day, but a clean hotel is an establishment initially providing highest quality accommodation for travelers and tourists at the very first stage, then meals and other services. Except than the small lobby, all other areas such as elevators, hallways, and finally the rooms smell like a 50 year old building. Very old-fashioned interior decoration. Many people including my family and I were waiting for having rooms ready by about 4:30 pm. Hotel has provided one sample room picture and couple washroom shots with the least amount of renovation could possibly be imagined but many pictures from landscapes that gives no pertinent sense to the reality of the facility. Very old in-room furniture such as beds and drawers. An LED TV with very poor stretched picture. Very noisy old system air-conditioning, and so on. I hope management of the hotel will soon realize that this is not the meaning of being a provider of tourism services whatsoever. This is a 3-star rated hotel but I would hardly give 1.

Horrible, dirty hotel. The place is dated and long overdue for some serious renovations. Broken tiles, stained carpets, bad smells. Our first room had black mold in the bathroom. We asked to be moved… in the second room, the bed was made but throwing back the covers revealed a ton of body hair from the previous guest. Front desk clerk informed us that the rooms only get cleaned once a week. Understandable if you are the only guest in that room. I mentioned that none of this hair was ours, we had just arrived. He “apologized” and said they would promptly change the sheets - they never showed. The next day, the front desk girl herself came to change the sheets, this was only after a second complaint about the issue. Only one coffee pod in the room, one roll of toilet paper. They never came to replenish anything or clean. A horrible hotel.

This hotel is old. The hallways look rundown like the some section 8 apartment. Our room had misisng electric outlets and ceiling had holes. One bedsheet had stains on it. We stayed for 2 days and they didnt Change our bedsheets. I will say some good. Great pool and jaccuzi. staff is nice. Location is 8 minutes drive from old quebec city.

I loved my wonderful stay here because the cleanliness of my room and the hotel in general is excellent, I loved mostly your beautiful and cozy swimming pool including your spa, this place has also lots of amenities like vending machines, elevators, etc., and your employees seen here is very respectful, helpful and professional.

We booked the suite for one night and will never return. This was supposed to be the nicest room but it was dirty. The floors needed to be vacuumed and the bath had pubic hairs in it. The furniture was old. The room clearly needed to be renovated. The two ice making machines were broken also. We complained to the staff but no goodwill gesture was offered. All in all a disappointing stay. For the price we paid we could have found a better room elsewhere.

Excellent hotel for the price, family hotel, courteous staff, clean aisles and room Only downside is the rooms get very humid, Hotel has a nice indoor pool, splash pad and hot spa. Parking is onsite and complimentary, on premise restaurant serves good coffee.

Spacious, comfortable and clean room. Staff not all on the same level when it comes to service. Definitely something they can work on if they're interested. It's a little out the way, but there are food service places across the road.

We had a perfect two nights here. The room was clean and modern, the staff was friendly even to us Americans with limited French and the pool and hot tub were such a treat after a rainy day. So many restaurants nearby and a quick ride and cheap Uber to downtown. I would stay here again.

Room was spacious, clean, quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful. One suggestion, I was SO looking forward to using the pool, but it was busy up until 10:00pm. ( Small pool, lots of kids, that's ok, but wasn't able to get in at all.) Could you please have an adult swim for even half an hour in the whole day? If so, we will return .. It is a great spot for young families!

Worst hotel experience. We arrived with a conformation of booking and they denied our booking and blamed it on the booking app. Although this wasn’t the worst news, we had just heard the couple in front of us get a payed night at a nicer 4 star hotel because of the same reason. They have people in the exact situation received a beautiful night at a hotel because it was “the hotels fault” apart of their chain and we got a sorry it’s was not their fault it was the booking websites. We are now sitting at a fast food place wondering where we will spend the night last minute. The service was horrible they were blaming us on a problem we should have never encountered.

Great experience, price and amenities! Room had a little bit of damage( paint, floor, tv pixels), however for the price we paid it was everything we could have asked for ! Birds in the pool area were a great addition!

Room is a single with a huge bed 🛏 and three big pillows. Great support for sitting up in bed. Bed feels comfy. Did the usual black light check to make sure a previous guest didn't leave a piece of themselves behind and the bed and bedding is clean. Bathroom 🚽 is small, as usua in most hotels. Don't really care for the 'soup bowl' sink. The TV is a nice size and I'm able to hook up my media player which is nice since I'm here for two nights and a day. There's a huge atrium with a pool inside. There are rooms with balconies that overlook the pool area. Pretty neat actually. Be sure to book one of those if you're here for a couple days. It's fairly humid in the room, you can feel it as soon as you walk in. The blonde at the front desk was a bit dismissive at check in. Probably because I don't speak French. She provided information on a couple things when I asked. But there wasn't any smiley welcoming thing to be had. I didn't really care about it much. I've been driving for 7.5 hours and I just want to in my room. Disappointed that there isn't a microwave in the room. I'd brought a couple meals to heat up but that's not going to happen now. Good thing I bought a large Ceasars salad 🥗. 😎 There is a small fridge and a coffee maker though. Lots of outlets in the room to charge up electronics and the AC is working great.

3rd floor room #346…toilet seat old and cracked, fridge door can holders broken…wine glass dirty on desk and seemed like someone had eaten on desk and not cleaned…chairs both on balcony and in room pity full. No soap in dispenser in shower…AC unit in ceiling had obviously broke and when they repaired they placed floating ceiling with water stained tiles….To top it all off woke up last morning with bed bug found on my sheet !!! Took picture and shared with front desk and no reaction at all !!!

Nice enough, note that they do not clean your room until you leave. Also, book a room NOT overlooking the pool, unless you have children you are watching, because it is large and you can hear every word of every conversation. Order the pulled pork sandwich from the restaurant downstairs. TO. DIE. FOR. Best I ever had. Mattresses pretty awful, at least in our room. Hotel is very well located, though, if you are coming in for treatment at the Enfant Jesus hospital. They have a special price for seniors and hospital patients.

Its hard to find a cheap hotel in Quebec City. Saying that if you stay at Ambassador hotel you need to really lower your expectations. In our room, only towels and sheets were changed. The floor, washrooms, doors, bottom bed covers were dirty. Front personnel (gentlemen with red jacket) was rude. When I contacted him and informed him about our problem, instead of helping us with the problem he gave our family an ultimatum - "take it and leave". I wish i could add pictures......

Appreciated the friendly, professional staff ! Rooms are dated, cleanliness & maintenance should be improved · Bathrooms are small and smelly, there's MOLEs on the walls. And Pillow STINKS!!! Affordable price though, but dont expect much other than the worst. (its like a MOTEL quiet frankly.) Kids loved the pool which needed more care too.

  • 4/5 Daniel P. 2 years ago on Google
The hotel is located north of Québec City, but you can go downtown in 10 minutes with the highway right in front of the hotel. The rooms are clean and quiet. There is a nice restaurant in the hotel. If you want to take advantage of the hotel facilities, ask for a room with a balcony with a view in the atrium. The only negative point, the wifi is not powerful enough, many clients complained, including us, that the signal was too weak, we could not connect or lost the signal; the owner should install a more powerful network.

Bought a voucher on Tuango for a family trip to QC city. (paid maybe 100$/night) with balcony view on the pool Check in on Friday to Sunday Pros Super nice staff Had a indoor pool from 9 to 10pm Had 2 elevators one from the entrance and another one closed to the pool entrance My young kids enjoyed the pool very much. Free parking Cons : no microwave in the room On Friday everything went well after 10pm it was quiet, but on Saturday night there's alot of noise.. There's some young adults drinking beers on the terrace and being very noisy after 10pm, even tho the terrace is supposed to be closed at 10pm and we can hear it from our balcony. The door of our balcony is not well isolated so we can hear pretty well. Some youngsters played with the elevator and press all the floors, so I ended up walking all the way to my room. The carpet on our a balcony was dirty and old. But still gave 4 stars because the staff are amazing, and maybe we just didn't come on the right day. At least my kids enjoyed it and it's really family friendly place and with the voucher is totally worth it.

Very strange place. First I arrive at noon and there was no rooms ready which was ok since the listed check-in time was 4pm. Ok fine. I ask if they can have my room perhaps done next since I had arrived and was waiting in the lobby. I was told no, they will get to my room when they get to it. Ok. 4pm rolls around and my room still isn't ready (despite me having arrived 4 hours ago) but I'm assured they are working hard to get rooms cleaned and serviced. Later I get checked in and I'm short on towels but decide that it's not worth mentioning since I can just get them tomorrow. The next day rolls around, and there's no cleaning and no towels, I call down to inquire and I'm told that they only clean and provide service when people leave and that I should adjust for the next 4 days. I ask for towels but I'm told that I can only get 1 medium towel per day (not a body one) until my next reservation. So their rooms aren't ready because on time because their so busy cleaning rooms, yet they hardly ever clean the rooms. This is the story I'm being told... Not impressed.

Friendly staff , great location 10 min drive from downtown. Bathroom need maintenance and smelly. But main issue for me it was AC. You cannot sleep with it, since it is so noisy and you cannot open the window as alternative. I could here neighbor's AC also loud

  • 2/5 Julie P. 2 years ago on Google
Went for a hockey tournament, pool is great for the kids they had a blast. The room floors has a lingering cigarette smell. Rooms were ok but the AC was extremely loud. We were there for 3 days and had no room service whatsoever. I saw one and asked that even though I was in the room, could she just change the garbage and give us fresh towel. She never came. The next day I saw another one and insisted she followed me to do so right away. So even though we were gone quite a bit day time, the room wasn't cleaned for our entire stay. I was looking forward to tell them and would have been happy to share these details upon checking out but they never asked if I enjoyed my stay. Basic hotel 101. Restaurant next to the hotel is fabulous
