Lovely restaurant. The main dishes come with an entree, and the menu is based on local produce. The food was delicious. We tried the bison carpaccio with truffle sauce, venison with a mushroom and rosemary sauce, seafood with a saffron-shellfish sauce, and crème brûlée. You can bring your own wine (no corkage fee).

Head waiter takes the 3 stars for himself for his professionalism. BYOB which is good. Pandemic obliged , the kitchen needs staff.

We lucked out getting last minute reservations for an early time slot. The place filled up very fast and seemed like a local favorite. The innovative menu in french is on a traveling blackboard that the server brings around. She was very helpful in translating it. We had the crème brulee foie gras for the appetizer. My friend ordered the venison which he thought was one of the best he's ever had and I had the duck.

Pretty good French cuisine, not on par with Montreal, but everything tastes good and the ambiance is decent, BYOW and prices are reasonable for the quality

Went there as a group for my friend's anniversary. First and foremost, the service was impeccable. We were served by Sammy. He knew everything about the menu and did not hesitate to go ask in the kitchen for questions we had. Restaurant itself is elegant, the menu is displayed on a chalkboard at every table. Food itself now, it's good, but nothing special. For the price we paid we expected something better. Carpaccio starter was absolutely delicious , same for the salad and soup however the same can't be said for the main dish. Burger was a hit and miss ( better is available for half the price). Mine was half good half bad, rissoto was excellent, scallops were juicy and tender but the rest was a bit bland. Overall a good experience but I'll probably just stick to starters next time or try something different.

Honestly, it's the best French cuisine I've had. The food was amazing. Service was superb! Each and every dish was mouth-watering delicious. So much flavor. The presentation of each plate was very pleasing to the eye! You have to book in advance to get a chance to dine here. Everyone is super friendly. Couldn't have a here dining experience for our last night in Quebec City!

Excellent French food! The carpaccio with truffle oil is very tasty. All meals come with a soup or salad starter. Portions are generous for fine dining standards.

Great food, at a very reasonable price, considering. Especially worth mentioning: their ris de veau!

La Girolle. What a place to feast yourself. This spot in Quebec is where you come to congratulate life on food. La Girolle welcomes you with a vintage look and drags you in with one of the best services I have ever experienced in Canada. Then, a server will deliver an ode to the menu and recite each dish like a bard revealing the tales of the Chef and his staff. Deciding on what you will eat after the waiter's epic monologue becomes like a life decision. The Hurt Locker has nothing against this menu. The duck, the seafood, the crème brûlée. Wow. I do not believe in the line of judges where every single one pulls up a 10 after an Olympic performance. La Girolle is the exception. They are Olympians of food and service. J'ai hâte de trouver une excuse pour me rendre à Québec et célébrer quelque chose à cet endroit. C'est comme ouvrir une bouteille de champagne.

Language was a bit of a barrier on the menu, but our server helped us decipher the menu with his phone translator! Food was excellent!

What a great surprise at this place. I was amazed with all 7 dishes ordered: sweet potato soup, beet salad, bison carpaccio, beef and fish tartare, seafood risotto, duck and creme brûlée. All dishes had depth, with high end presentation and incredible flavors. Service was professional and being able to bring our own wine was the cherry on top. Would come back 10000%!

We had creme brûlée au foie gras, escargot, lamb filet, sweetbread, scallops&shrimp, cod, and duck dishes. Dinner comes with soup/salad and tea/coffee. We ordered some appetizers to share. We also shared our dinner plates. Food was excellent! This French restaurant is quite big. Staff were attentive and professional. This is a bring your own wine restaurant and there is no corkage fee. I would come back to this restaurant when I’m in Quebec. Cheers!

One of the few BYOW french restaurant in Québec City and is a great choice for quality and variety of food, portions, friendly and efficient service. Bread could be of better quality.
