There are a few places you must get boulangerie items from in Québec City and this is definitely one of them. I have to admit that this place is very close to my accommodation here and they open early enough for us to get fresh croissant AND coffee for breakfast. Most other places open later or the breads are not as good, ok, it's mainly because they do have one of the best breads (I mean breads so other boulangerie items are very good as well). The price is really reasonable for the quality (it is a little pricier, but worth it). The coffee is really good as well (I shall not compare them to some watered down fast food coffee as it is not comparable). The staff is really friendly even though I spoke English and they were very patient as I really took my time given the huge variety of things i can get here to eat. It is a joy to come here to buy breads with the friendly staff and I reckon most customers are regulars. The real French vibes are really good here (minus the unfriendliness). P.S. the croissant still taste really good after a day even though they should be consumed as soon as possible within a few hours. I bought some one day old croissant as they were on sale and if you can heat them up, they are still very buttery and flaky as the lamination is really good as well.

I love of French bakeries, and all French food. Well I found the most amazing croissant I’ve ever eaten in my life. The layers are plenty, the buttery, flaky, chewy texture is amazing. If ever in Quebec City, it’s a must try. She even remembered me as the American and spoke English to me right off the bat. Great customer service!

Yummy quiche and parsnips soup! Seems popular among the locals with their huge selection of fresh bread.

Excellent boulonnerie with friendly bilingual staff. They were very patient with me while I did my best to order in broken French.

Wonderful. Staff is helpful and very kind and well equipped and you move through the queue very quickly. The breads are fantastique. The pastries and cafe drinks are superb. We stopped in everyday on our four day vacation. There are three small tables or window bar to sit, eat, drink and enjoy the scents and sites of this glorious bakery.

A wonderful bakery with gourmet products. The locals (and tourists) love it and it's always busy. Definitely recommend the Citron Sable (it's so flaky! So gorgeous! ) The Sicilian bread (it can be really filling and suggest to share it) The orange muffin is delightful! Their quiche deserves a special mention - the crust is so flaky, so light that it melts in the mouth. Do not miss their quiche!

Would return. Great selection of pastries, good pricing and coffee to boot. Blueberry was delicious, lots of fruit and not too tart. Softer pastry rather than flakey and crisp. Doesnt take AMEX.

Found hair sticking out of the bottom layer of this pastry, as you can see zoomed in one of the pictures. I’m glad my wife saw it while I was taking a bite. Bought quite a few things from here several time, don’t know where they get their pastries from or if they make it themselves. But I’m not ordering anything from here again.

Amazing bakery in an interesting part of Quebec City. 25 min walk from the old Town and definitely worth it. Great selection of pastries. Coffee was delicious. Reasonable prices. Staff were friendly and patient with my GF while she practiced her French. Loved the almond croissant!

It was wonderful this place opened at 7 on Sundays. The pastries were all massive and great for sharing. The cinnamon pinwheel was delicious, and I loved the addition of candied lemon in the blueberry muffins.

We tried this place a couple of times since it was right under the building we were living in. Great croissants and cakes. The staff is sweet as well. Recommended.

The best pastries I’ve had in Quebec. Flaky croissants! The lemon sable cookies are the best I’ve had.

Ah-mazing! Everything we’ve tried at La Boîte à pain has been perfect! We swung by based on its high rating and proximity, but found ourselves heading over several times a day to top up during the duration of our stay. Croissants, chocolatines, blueberry danishes, kalamata olive bread, ham&cheese croissants baguettes, and the cruffins! Wow. The olive bread, ham&cheese croissants and chocolatines especially, unreal. Honestly we can’t get enough, so bring your appetites and get ready to be amazed. Perfect.

It's magic how anything I've tried in that place is so incredibly good 🤷🏻‍♀️🙌🏼 The staff is friendly and happy to help you in both French and English. You won't find these croissants/chocolatinnes and brioche in MTL, I hope these guys are going to expand there one day!

The male staff who attended to me was bilingual and patiently explained the ingredients. I don't like raisins! :p I picked the puff pastry swirl with maple and walnuts... it was as big as my face, crunchy and super delicious! Fair prices. This street was recommended to me by a local to explore, and I was glad to have stumbled upon this place.

Amazing pastries and delicious coffee brought us back every day of our stay in Quebec. Picked up beautiful sandwiches and salads for our flight back home. Sure beats airport food cost and yummwise.

Smoked meat sandwich was delicious. Chocolate exclairs were the best in my life. One of the service staff was not pleasant and seemed annoyed with our group of 6 (rushed us to order).

Although the staff is very friendly and the coffee is hot and rich in flavour, the baked goods including the croissants, feuilleter au jambons et fromage, were soggy. All trace of flaky or crisp, gone. The quiche was very well seasoned, but warmed in a microwave and going with the theme of the bakery, soggy. Unfortunately not recommended.

Visiting from out of town and found this place via Google reviews. Definitely deserve a 5 star rating for their almond croissant, eclairs and lattes. Great customer service as well! A must visit when in Quebec City!

The coffee is not the best and the croissant was soft. Not as flakey and delicate as it should be. It’s very hard to find a good croissant outside of Europe for some reason. I thought To try this bakery that someone recommended.. oh well. The staff is friendly and quick. The pastries looked fresh.

I took a fresh baked croissant and latte. The croissant was fluffy and buttery. Quick breakfast.
