I'm actually writing this review as I just ate my meal - live in action! Best PAD THAI I've ever had. This was top tier food. Drinks are great, service is incredibly friendly and attentive, love the modern, chill vibe. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this spot.

Average pad Thai and stir fry. Lychee spritz was very good. Laotian meatballs were okay but with the sauce and slaw were very good and a good portion. Very nice atmosphere although the wait for service and food was a downer

Stopped for a drink 🍷🍺on our way to late sitting at L'Affaire est Ketchup. Had some recommended Durro wine and a local brown ale. Bar was clean, well-lit and uncrowded.😋

This was one of the best Thai restaurants we have ever been to. The ambience is nice and the service is good. But what really seperates this place is the food. My family enjoyed it all. The fish curry was so delish. The apps were amazing and the desserts. One suggestion is to improve the cocktail quality (but seems to be an issue in Quebec generally). Well done Bati ! A night to remember.

Outstanding food, top-notch service, and a great atmosphere (top points for the thoughtfully smooth lighting) By far the best papaya salad I have ever had, and will also strongly recommend the amok, which had a great presentation, preparation, and palate. Service was very friendly, welcoming, and encouraging, which worked well when we were ordering the mocktail "of the moment".

I was annoyed by the wait but the food was delicious. Don't get here too hungry for dinner because you might have some wait. Great food and nice staff. The place is rather noisy so don't pick it for a romantic date as I did. :) Nice food selection, interesting mix of ingredients.

Beautiful decor and nice atmosphere. Service was friendly but a bit slow. Food was ok, but mostly underwhelming. The quality didn’t justify the price. Lots of potential for this place to be 5 stars if they make changes to the menu and improve the food quality.

Awesome service since my date and I walked in. As busy as it was the wait time was more than reasonable. Again, the staff couldn't be nicer. Very chill, cozy environment, and of course the food was DELICIOUS and more than I could actually eat. A new recommendation of mine.

Both dishes we ordered (Pad Thai and the Lao something) had too much sauce and the sauces were overly sweet. That's not the bad part. The bad part was waiting for over an hour for our food. The tables that came in after us got their food, people kept coming through for takeouts and they got their food. When we let the waiters know that we had been waiting for a long time, they continued to prepare dishes for takeouts so we got to wait around some more. It was not until we asked to pay for just the appetizers that we ate that our food finally arrived. Not a good experience at all.

The presentation was awesome. The food tasted great, maybe a bit sweet for some. Overall, I would recommend it.

Thirty minutes after ordering, I let our waitress know that we had not received our food and how long we had been waiting. She assured me ours was next. It wasn’t. We sat there and waited another 15 minutes watching the staff push 10–15 carry out orders out the door and bringing food to three other tables that arrived after we did before we finally received our food fully 45 minutes after ordering. Ridiculous. And on top of that, the food was just average.

For a real Asian experience as I have experienced when I lived in Asia, Bati meets all the criteria. Food is good, average service and the best part is the cute dog in the restaurant. This cute little puppy even had the chance to drink water from his owner's glass on her lap at the table. When we asked our server if this was normal here, she replied there's nothing wrong, and asked if we were afraid. We simply replied, no, it's just not sanitary. This was our last time there. Too bad, the food was good. I didn't take a picture of the dog.

A rainy night in Quebec, we were tired and looking for someplace to eat. The staff was incredibly hospitable. The place was busy but the found us a place. Their recommendations were perfect, the food arrived quickly and was delicious. The Amok fish was perfectly cooked and the flavor of the curry and vegetables was wonderful. The Tom yum soup was excellent and the veggie spring roll was crispy and light. Doug is especially friendly and helped guide our menu choices. Will come back again as soon as possible.

I don't get the hype. Overpriced white people Asian food with small portions. Service was slow and server spoke at the same level as the noise. Restaurant was out of cream and milk. Do not order the ribs, they are tough. Sorbet had ice chunks in it from improper storage. Sorry, bati, I really wanted to like you 💔

As an English-speaking diner managing extensive food allergies, traveling in Quebec City was a major challenge. Several other restaurants on Rue St-Joseph had outright refused to make any effort to serve me anything. I was exhausted and wondering whether I would find anything to eat at all my first night in the city, when I came upon Bati. Even though I knew they would be using several ingredients in the kitchen that I am allergic to, the host, chef, and staff at the takeout counter made me feel valued and protected. Bati uses fresh ingredients and chefs cook from scratch, so although they were busy, they were fully capable of preparing a meal of spicy lemongrass beef and vegetable stir-fry with rice for me that was not only safe, but was also delicious and an absolute joy to taste. They saved me from what could have been a very sad culture of tourist health discrimination in what is considered a modern, international city. I returned the next night as well, after several more attempts to unsuccessfully order food downtown. I can't thank Bati enough for their attentive service and dedication to clean, healthy, delicious food!

Lovely service and cocktails. Limited veggie options but whatever I had was excellent! Interesting flavours!

Service was slow, restaurant was clearly understaffed. The waitress seemed to prioritize people using the credit card terminal over refilling water and checking in with customers. The food was ok but in my opinion not worth it for the price. The ribs were tough, the fish amok had a delicious sauce just like you find in Phnom Penh but unfortunately it was somewhat ruined by the very muddy tasting fish which I assume to be of low quality. All of this to say, it could be great but right now it's mostly overpriced, disappointing and mediocre. The cocktails were good though. I recommend that people visit the lunch counter run by the same restaurant next door, the price-quality ratio is more fair.

This place was authentic when we visited 5 years ago. Now this place has changed. Very very disappointed. The plates given are not easy to eat on. The fish dish used to be covered in banana leaf now all open and the flavours are disappointing. We took so much effort to find this place only to be disappointed. Price paid don't match the quality. Will never ever visit this place again.

Absolutely delicious. I had 2 appetizers, the corn buns and the meatballs. Then I had the Fish Amok… Tapioca for dessert. Obviously one person can’t eat all of that in one sitting so I took most of it home to have for lunch the next day and it was still just as good reheated. I couldn’t decide what to get and after I had the first appetizer (it was so delicious) I knew that I couldn’t just order an entrée.

Excellent food and great service! We had the trio of skewers and a pad Thai, both were delicious. Try the stuffed corn flour dumplings as an entree. Worth the price 😋 One note: if you dislike loud repetitive lounge style music, I recommend the take out option. 😉

It’s been over a year since I was in Quebec City, but Bati Bassac is deserving of an excellent review. This restaurant sets high standards for service, atmosphere, and modern Khmer cuisine. The entree’s are presented with elegance where the flavours are unique yet still maintains authenticity. Highly recommended.

Food and service was excellent as always. My favorite place to dine in Quebec City.

Service was amazing but unfortunately the food tastes like an unauthentic Chinese food. Was not happy with the food At all, super over fried chicken. Will not be back.

We went straight for the mains. Ask for birds eye chilly as most of the dishes (barring the first fish dish on the mains menu) lack the fire to balance the sweetness. Surprisingly the pad Thai was really good in what is otherwise adapted Khmer cuisine for the North America pallete. By the way, they have a good selection of tap beer. Service is prompt. And thankfully they had English menus too.

Great South-East Asian restaurant in Quebec City! Could have used a little bit more spiciness, but very flavorful and fresh. The terrasse is beautiful and servings very generous for the price. Highly recommend and I'm hoping to go back! This was the Pad Singapore (on the left) and the papaya salad (on the right).

Absolutely delightful meal here. We ordered the fish dish (Amok), spring rolls, Khmer stir fry, pad thai, and pnom penh noodle soup — and the meal did not disappoint. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Service was attentive and excellent.
