A really nice and informative ride on the peat railway. Great and partly. funny explanation about the moor. Very nice and motivated employees, all of whom work on a voluntary basis. The 70-minute journey is certainly a bit too long for small children, but everyone aged 7 and over can learn a lot.

Highly Recommended. We became aware of the train ride on Facebook and can really recommend that anyone with a bit of interest in nature and the peat bog take a look. The journey takes approximately 70 minutes. In between you will stop at several places (you are not allowed to get out because of nature conservation) and there will be small lectures about the moor, the peat or nature in general. The whole thing is really entertaining. I would recommend taking a seat cushion with you because, as I said, you just sit for 70 minutes. On a wooden cot. There is nothing to eat or drink on site. The trip costs €5 per adult and benefits the peat bog railway and its preservation as the railway is operated by volunteers.

Today, in wonderful weather, we took one of the old peat railways and visited the peat factory and the buildings on it. We found the many different railcars particularly impressive. That was a great trip.

Definitely worth a visit. Very quiet, natural area. When traveling on the peat railway you get a lot of background information about the topic of Himmelmoor and the peat railway. I can only recommend. Also for everyone, a learning path around the moor, for young and old.

(Translated by Google) I really liked the vastness of the moor and the many opportunities to find out about the flora, fauna and history of the Himmelmoor. Beautifully laid out and maintained paths that invite you to go for a walk are available.

It is impressively beautiful! I was there with the family and the long walk on the toad path was a great experience for all of us. The children learn so much about the moor, the peat and the toads. It was the toad migration and you could see the large females carrying the males on their backs. You can look far into the horizon and let your eyes wander freely into the distance. Holiday for the soul for stressed city dwellers. Highly recommended 👍🏼🐸🐾

Really great path through the moor and the former peat mining area. There is a lot to see and learn. Information boards provide information and there are benches everywhere to relax. Also suitable for children.

We took a tour with the peat railway today and were thrilled. There was a lot of great information about and around the moor in a relaxed atmosphere. Thank you for the lovely and informative afternoon. I can only recommend a ride on the Torfbahn. We will definitely come back again.

(Translated by Google) A really great experience .... special trip through the Himmelmoor Quickborn. Can be booked online or by phone. You are then on the road for more than 2 hours. Our bog guide was very knowledgeable and funny. It never came up for a long while. It is stopped several times and information is given. The cost is not high. There are also public trips at reasonable prices, but then much shorter. All voluntary... (Original) Ein ganz tolles Erlebnis ....Sonderfahrt durchs Himmelmoor Quickborn. Alles ehrenamtlich...

(Translated by Google) A beautiful area for walking, hiking or cycling. The paths are well laid out, often straightened with peat. The peat extraction was only finally given up in 2019, so that the extraction basins can still be clearly seen. Many old mining areas have already been renatured, but there are many areas that still need to be built up at great expense.

(Translated by Google) Great destination. Many information boards that clearly explain the flora and fauna of a moor to visitors. Of course there's also a lot to discover...you just have to keep your eyes open ;). The old peat railway runs at the weekend. (Original) Tolles Ausflugsziel.
