Randers Regnskov offers a unique and engaging zoo experience, particularly enjoyable for families. Arrive early to secure parking and be prepared for warm temperatures inside the rainforest domes. Consider accessibility limitations for wheelchair users in some areas. Overall, it's a highly recommended day trip.
Arrive before 11:00 AM to avoid crowds and have ample time to explore. Bring 2 kr. coins for lockers. Dress lightly for the warm, humid environment inside the domes. Be aware of potentially slippery steps. Check if you can feed the monkeys.

Do you want a jungle adventure without breaking the bank, this place could be for you. 3 bio domes houses numerous fish, birds, insects and animals like monkeys, Sloth, Crocodile s and many other. We visited this place in start of June and had a great experience. Familys with children will have a splendid time here. After your adventure you can enjoy some food in the cafe or visit a shop with merchandise. I recommend this place for children in all ages and for all interested in biology and animals.
You can spend an entire day here. There is a lot to see and do. Please be advised that the rainforest is quite warm, so please dress appropriately. You are welcome to bring your own food for a picnic. There is a designated food area with tables available. If your children wish to play outdoors, there is a suitable playground.
It's a very nice experience in Randers, you have to be there maximum at 11 am to get to see everything in a relaxed mode as they close by 4 pm. The user experience is lovely, lockers, toilets, snacks, everything was really good. Would highly recommend it as a family trip in this time of the year.
Fun little place and a little variety to see, I love how you can walk amongst some of the animals up close in the domes, it's a fun experience and lots of food and shop stops along the trails. I think my only concern is wheel chairs will struggle in the domes, they can't experience some of it due to dangerous steps, bridges and areas you're forced to turn back around as only people walking can go that way. Not saying it totally ruins the experience but it's definitely a point where they miss out certain areas. Some of the steps are quite dangerous and myself and others almost fell badly a few times due to them being different sizes and partially wet from condensation. Otherwise everything was great and well decorated. I feel the manatees enclosure was far too small for it with the arwanas.. I felt quite sad for it.
We visited today with two “large kids” (16 and 18) and all had a fantastic time. Many animals we have not seen before and the immersive experience in the domes is awesome. It’s cold (March) but from we can see this place is even more fantastic in summer and has tons of activities to keep smaller kids (and as such their parents) happy. Strongly recommended!
I love Randers Rainforest even though I live in Copenhagen I have now been there twice, this last time on my own so that I could take my time. I want to go again soon.
Very interesting concept. At many points in the zoo you are walking with animals in open space. There's an aquarium and a cool bat cave too (and the little things remarkably never hit you—echolocation ftw). You may also be able to feed a monkey. A bit pricey but I think this is now the standard zoo price.
This zoo was beyond our expectations, it has several species of animals that one may not found in every other zoo. It is a tropical zoo with animals from Asia, Africa & South America and many of those are rarest animal species. It has really nice playgrounds and cafes too. One can easily spend 4-5 hours here.
This is how a zoo should be! They way they build the zoo is briljant everything seems to be one. A little ledge zo the turtles dont run away but you can step in with them. A little house with a window with big cuddly cats, a cave with bats where they nearly hit you head, really cool! pro tip, if you have binoculairs bring them! To see the birds upclose is even cooler. Another tip, my pregnant wife needed a few times to sit. And everytime you do you wil discover new animals, so take your time. All signs have English on them and they have really smart signs with al the animals on them you might wanna take a photo of them zo you can cross off what you found, a little where is Waldo. We came around 13:00 and parking was really full, we had to wait til somebody left. We waited 5 minutes so not that long. We spend like 3 hours and took our time and had a little lunch. And we forget to see the animals outside… I saw that in the other reviews. Sometimes the signs on the doors are a bit demotivating, something Danisch stands on the door and it probable says you may not eat in there and pet animals but if you cannot read it it could also say dont go in here. Will come back!
Awesome place, animals get pretty close and live very well. 🙏👌Lots of outdoor space and playgrounds for kids to. ☀️💙
Generally good. But you can tell that the zoo is coming into its years. Way too crowed!! People are pushing through with their big kiddie bicycle trailers or huge prams. It’s also very loud even if signs are asking visitors to be quiet. Still kids are loving it and the new outdoor area is nice.
A must see if you are visiting the area! I was really surprised by the diversity of the ecosystems on display here. Each space was beautifully constructed and everything seemed natural and wild. There were a lot more animals here than I had expected. The info cards about each animal were a nice addition and I learned many new bits of trivia during the visit.
Very nice place to visit with kids and family. Mostly small animals and plants from tropical jungle with few exceptions, there is an very big interior yard with very nice parks and places for kids to play. There is a fast food restaurant on the entrance, also clean toilets and very nice souvenir shop. You can easily spend 5-8 hours around wich is quite enough for planing 1 day of trip. Also right in front across the street there is a McDonald's restaurant with drive in and place for kids to play inside, just in case...
We went on a school trip! We brought students from 4th grade up to 9th grade :) we got 1 hour of “undervisning” which was very interesting:)
It's a really nice zoo with a lot to offer. First of all, be sure to be there early in the morning (10-15 minutes before opening). Otherwise, parking will be a serious problem. We arrived 20 minutes past the opening time, and the parking was about 60% full. They have some special storage rooms for small and big strollers, which is very useful. There are also small storage units for things like backpacks, jackets, etc, but they work with 2 kr. Coins, so don't waste any other type. If you don't bring coins along, you can still exchange money for some special coins to use at the gift shop. Be careful what you need to store and what you take, because you need to use again 2 kr. Coins, every time you open and close the locker. Nice inside restaurant, with a big area to sit, eat and relax. If you have some snacks or sandwiches from home, there is an outside area that you can use for that. There are small "games" you can play with your entourage, like every time you enter an area, you can try to find and identify all the animals. The tigers enclosure is next to the picnic area, so if you're lucky, you can enjoy your sandwich, while the tiger enjoys his meal. It's a really good place to spend your day in. That's about all the time you need to enjoy this zoo.
Always love visiting the rainforest! We've had year-passes since March or April 2025 and they're 100% getting renewed for 2026.
