The Ambuluwawa Lake is a natural pool amidst the thick green biodiversity of the mountain. Till date it stays very less polluted. The atmosphere is cold down here. The road to this lake is surrounded by many Pine trees. !! It would be a bad idea to travel by motorcycles or other vehicles that are not suitable for slippery terrain. Although Ambuluwawa is a rock mountain, its surrounding does not seem like it. The mountain has its own defensive mechanism; the rich biodiversity that prevails here. Very less people visit this part of the mountain. So better not get stranded going alone.

If you are visiting ambuluwawa premises you can reach this place too where is located at the edge of the premisses. Can be reached easily via vehicle. This Place is Quite beautiful and peaceful. the access road is surrounding by a lot of pinewoods and other trees. If you are visiting Ambuluwawa Tower Permisses, I'm suggesting you to visiting this place too. When you take home with memories of this place, take back the polythene you brought with you. Stay safe! Stay Green 🖤🌳

Biodiversity at Ambuluwawa has a more complexed expansion than that of the common examples of biodiversity. Ambuluwawa is a rock mountain but it is different trom rock mountains commonly seen in Sri Lanka . It is made of special type of rock known as “Inselberg” and is least subject to erosion caused by natural forces. Experiments on the diversity of vegetation at Ambuluwawa are still in progress. According to the research work so far done, there are about 200 varieties of plants belonging to 80 plant families. The soil here is red or brown and belongs to the latezoic type. Medicinal plants known as ‘iramusu ‘, ‘ muva kiriya ‘ and ‘ nawa handi ‘ are the common plants grown in the area.

This natural pool is on the way to ambuluwawa tower, almost towards the top. The surrounding is very cool. There are deer droppings so there should have been deer coming to drink from here
