Decided to come and check out the new addition to the The Stirling Arms! Very much focused on parents with children up to the age of 6 - 7. My 11 year old wasn’t very interested in the playground but my 6 year old had fun. Jenga and a sandpit, well shaded but hot when the misters are off.. Sunscreen and water available on demand. Lovely little setting. I enquired if they will be getting water misters. I was advised that they have them however someone requested them to be turned off due to having a baby. I then requested them to be turned back on ha ha. Didn’t happen. Seperate to the actual pub. Pizzas not available for weekday lunches so we had chips which were tasty Surcharge for eft not noted or displayed, so bring cash Staff were lovely. 🥰
I really wanted to love this place as we have a toddler and there aren’t too many eateries around us with decent food AND kids areas (particularly shaded play areas). We went at 1.30pm on a Friday hoping to miss lunchtime rush. Pros The dedicated bar is a nice touch. Ample play areas for kids of various ages. Shaded tables and doesn’t feel crowded. The space is nice but rather small, catering for a moderate number of families. Cons Although the day wasn’t hot, it was muggy, so I was surprised the misters hadn’t been turned on. The food was underwhelming. I appreciated the $15 kids box but the fish was so oily, and the chips weren’t great. I had a Caesar salad for $24 which was a rip-off. A few cos lettuce leaves, lots of sauce and a few tiny bits of bacon and stale croutons. The egg was cooked well, at least. Also ordered a tap cocktail for $20 which was unreasonable for the quality of the drink. My fault as I shouldn’t expect much from tap cocktails. Didn’t have cutlery when our food arrived and had to ask, but then wasn’t given enough. That’s probably not a big deal to most people but more of an annoyance and shows a lack of maturity at the venue (I imagine things will improve as time goes on?) Summary I like the thought behind this place and the staff are young and friendly, if not a little inexperienced, but I wouldn’t bother eating here again unless desperate. It’s a nice place to go if you’ve got kids who are happy to play around independently whilst you enjoy a drink with family or friends, but you’d want to ensure you’ve booked a table at busy times otherwise probably have to wait around a little.
Playground is good for the kids food is not too bad but very small for the price had steak sandwich was very small for the prices plus no access to the main bar if you would like too change it up
Excellent pub for those with kids. The central playground is a good size and within viewing distance of all tables. Food and drinks are great and service is speedy and friendly. Couldn’t ask for anything more!
We have visited Percy’s twice now and absolutely love it. It is the perfect place for both parents and children. For the first time in a long time, my husband and I were able to sit and enjoy a drink together while our children played. The space has been so thoughtfully designed, every little detail has clearly been considered.
Such a great addition to the area! The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, the drinks are excellent, and the nature-based playground is a total winner for families. Kids can play and explore while adults actually get to sit back and enjoy themselves. Thoughtfully designed, friendly staff, and a really good balance between fun and chill. We’ll definitely be back.
Great food and beverage options. The kids loved their meals. Great staff, chatty and friendly
This place. Where can I start. The fairy lights at night and the playground is something I dreamed of seeing. Perfect for the kids to run around and have fun and the food is top tier. 100% recommend for you to go with the family
