Lake Oanob Resort

Very seldom do you find such a well run resort. And we believe its the only black empowerment resort belonging to Namibia hotel association. From the time you book the communication is friendly and efficient. You arrive to a reception with personal envelope with keys and all necessary papers. There's a small shop on site. For kids there are exotic birds in cages and for adults great BirdLife. Activities are very reasonably priced but the water sports are weather dependent and it was windy when we stayed. We chose the large wheel chair friendly unit as it has a braai. But tested the restaurant with sundowners and chips which were excellent...so dinner or lunch at the restaurant is definitely an option. The views are absolutely breathtaking!! Looks like it could be a bit busy and noisy with speed boats over weekends. Will definitely recommend this one. And it's not far from Rehoboth to Windhoek Oh yes, it's on dirt, but a good solid gravel road. Unlike most in Namibia.

We camped. Shared ablution got blocked. Staff very very helpful and friendly. The view safed the day although the mosquitos nearly carried us away during the night because of the heat and water.

Very beautiful and peaceful. Wonderful and friendly servive. Really a pleasure to visit the resort. I will definately come again. BUT the BIRD SANCTUARY not in good condition. Lots of cages very dirty, some with extremely dirty and stinky water bowls and the saddest in the summer heat some cages did not even had water for the birds. I saw birds that were hurt. PLEASE this part of the resort needs urgent attention.

The food is always amazing, especially the BBQ Ribs and the service is attentive and friendly ( Adelheid & Jennefer) The restaurant is perfect for a date night, and the prices are reasonable for the quality.

We visited for the day from Windhoek. The staff were incredibly welcoming and the food was fantastic. We went for a hike, made use of the pool and spent time on the aqua cycles. It was a great way and place to spend a day, and would highly recommend it!

I am very very very disappointed in your service. I booked one of your chalets and I must say that i was not impressed with the quality of your rooms. The rooms were dirty, walls are not cleaned, fans are old and dusty, the bed sheets weren’t up to standard (considering the amount I paid). I ended up having to cancel because there was absolutely no way i was going to sleep there (i expect certain standards when i book an accommodation). Went to the reception and asked for a refund, and i was told that a refund will not be possible. Your resort did not even offer any alternative, and I ended up leaving without getting my money back. First of all, i wasted my money, time and petrol to drive there. Thanks for nothing! I would absolutely NOT recommend this place to anyone! Lake Oanob please shut down and revamp your resort, because you are really not giving! And i ask for my money back
