I'm going yesterday. Khafre Pyramid, is the second largest pyramid in the pyramid complex at Giza. This is the burial place of Khafre, the 4th pharaoh of the Fourth Dynasty in Egyptian history. There are two entrances leading to the main burial chamber. One corridor is located at the bottom of the Pyramid and the other is located more than 11 meters above the bottom. I love Khfre.

A beautiful mountain of stones, I'm still in shock... no wonder there are theories that it was built by aliens. It's a pity you can't visit the inside, but it's also impressive from the outside.

The Pyramid of Khafre, also known as Chephren, is the tallest and second largest pyramid of the Giza complex. This place is the tomb of Pharaoh Khafre Chefren, who ruled ancient Egypt from 2558 to 2532 BC. The pyramid is made of limestone weighing over 2 tons. 53° 13° inclined pyramid side-by-side pyramid, 51° inclined pyramid Leaning pyramid on 10M high rock platform The pyramid was first discovered by Giovanni Belzoni on March 2, 1818. The original entrance was found on the north side of the pyramid and the burial chamber was discovered. Belzoni had hoped to find an important resource. However the room was empty except for an open window and cut off the floor conversation of the first headed to be done by John Perring in the year 1837. In 1853, Auguste Mariette excavated part of Khafre's building and in 1858, When he finished zooming in, he discovered a diorite painting. Same as Great Pyramid, a boulder used as the core of Khafre's pyramid. The stones used at the base of the pyramid are very large, but the further up the pyramid, the smaller the stones become, just over 50 cm thick. In the northwest corner of the pyramid, the stone foundation is created. like stairs. A path nearly 50 meters long leads to the temple. The two sides of the corridor are T-shaped stone columns, each column weighs more than 100 tons, the floor is lined with plaster. The compensation is covered with plaster and has faded over the years. Inside the temple is made entirely of granite, the temple door opens to a large glass panel. Without anything but 23 holes in the ground used to compare Khafre's statues, sites like ours have been bookmarked. There is still a creative power of insects and many interesting things that have not been discovered yet an ancient civilization that needs to exist and keep for the future👍

The best photography and videography is probably impossible to fully convey what it feels like to stand in the Giza Pyramid Complex. This historic site, one of the most famous in the world, is located across the Nile from Cairo. The city's iconic pyramids, the Great Sphinx and other historical monuments provide entertaining sights to the travelers. If you really want to visit this mysterious pyramid of Giza then you need to avoid the huge crowds to get there.

The Pyramid of Khafre, also known as the Pyramid of Chephren, is an awe-inspiring ancient monument located on the Giza Plateau in Egypt. Built during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom around 2570 BC, it stands as a testament to the architectural brilliance and engineering prowess of the ancient Egyptians. This pyramid is the second-largest of the three pyramids at Giza and is slightly shorter than the Great Pyramid of Khufu. Despite its size, the Pyramid of Khafre is an impressive structure, with its original smooth limestone casing that once covered the entire monument, giving it a striking appearance. One of the notable features of the pyramid is the Sphinx, a majestic and iconic limestone statue located nearby, which is believed to represent Pharaoh Khafre. The proximity of the Sphinx to the Pyramid of Khafre adds to the historical significance and allure of the site. Inside the pyramid, visitors can explore the complex network of passageways and chambers, providing a glimpse into the burial practices and beliefs of the ancient Egyptians. The Pyramid of Khafre has undergone various explorations and excavations, shedding light on the rich history and culture of ancient Egypt. As a historical and archaeological wonder, the Pyramid of Khafre continues to captivate visitors from around the world, offering an opportunity to experience the grandeur and mystery of ancient Egypt firsthand. It is a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts and those seeking to immerse themselves in the marvels of ancient civilizations.

Visited the Giza Plateau 8 October 2022. Included in the Cairo Pass. This is the second of the three pyramids of Giza. When you are standing in between the two pyramids this pyramid appears to be the taller of the two which is an optical illusion. The Pyramid of Khafre is smaller than the Great Pyramid but is a built on a slightly higher piece of ground so appears taller. This is the only pyramid here which still has the casing stones at the summit. Unfortunately was closed the day we visited so could not enter the burial chamber. You can walk around three sides of the pyramid but for some reason the fourth side is partitioned off. On the far side closer to the Pyramid of Menkaure is a good vantage point to get both of the main pyramids in a picture. You will come across some of the ubiquitous Camel hawkers here and if you want pictures it will cost you. I recommend not riding the poor animals as the abuse they get is terrible for such a noble creature.

A must see in a life time. Only when you experience the pyramids in person you begin to appreciate the skill and technique that might have gone in building this heavenly structure more than 3000 years back. The ticket price is EGP 350 to view them from outside and 160 (I think) to go inside and view. There's an "all inclusive" ticket available for EGP 500. To explore the pyramid's inside, you will need to "crawl" through a narrow passage, if you are claustrophobic or not fit, AVOID!!! Otherwise, the access pathway is in itself a kind of adventure and well worth the visit. Pics are not allowed and the janitors tell you they will allow you to as a special gesture and on the way out, they demand tips.

This pyramid still has it's original cap relatively intact, giving a slight sense of what the pyramids looked like upon finishing construction with smooth sides. It was built by the son of the King who built the first pyramid in Giza (the tallest one) and was originally 144m tall but now stands 136m tall. Though it is technically shorter, it was built on higher grounds, thus appearing taller than the pyramid of his father.

The Pyramid of Khafre or of Chephren (Arabic: هرم خفرع‎, romanized: haram ḵafraʿ, IPA: [haram xafraʕ]) is the second-tallest and second-largest of the Ancient Egyptian Pyramids of Giza and the tomb of the Fourth-Dynasty pharaoh Khafre (Chefren), who ruled from c. 2558 to 2532 BC. SIZE:- The pyramid has a base length of 215.5 m (706 ft) and rises up to a height of 136.4 metres (448 ft)[2]. It is made of limestone blocks weighing more than 2 tons each. The slope of the pyramid rises at a 53° 13' angle, steeper than its neighbor, the Pyramid of Khufu, which has an angle of 51°50'24". Khafre's pyramid sits on bedrock 10 m (33 ft) higher than Khufu's pyramid, which makes it appear to be taller. HISTORY The pyramid was likely opened and robbed during the First Intermediate Period. During the Nineteenth Dynasty, the overseer of temple construction took casing stones to build a temple in Heliopolis on Ramesses II's orders.[citation needed] Arab historian Ibn Abd al-Salam recorded that the pyramid was opened in 1372 AD. On the wall of the burial chamber, there is an Arabic graffito that probably dates from the same time. It is not known when the rest of the casing stones were robbed; they were presumably still in place by 1646, when John Greaves, professor of Astronomy at the University of Oxford in his Pyramidographia, wrote that, while its stones weren't as large or as regularly laid as in Khufu's, the surface was smooth and even free of breaches of inequalities, except on the south. The pyramid was first explored in modern times by Giovanni Belzoni on March 2, 1818, when the original entrance was found on the north side. Belzoni had hopes of finding an intact burial but the chamber was empty except for an open sarcophagus and its broken lid on the floor. The first complete exploration was conducted by John Perring in 1837. In 1853, Auguste Mariette partially excavated Khafre's valley temple, and, in 1858, while completing its clearance, he managed to discover a diorite statue of Khafre.

(Translated by Google) The pyramid of Khafre was designed to be the second longest pyramid in the Giza region, and in order to compensate for the difference in size between the pyramid of Khafre and the largest pyramid of Khufu, this pyramid was built on a higher area to compensate for the shortfall in the dimensions of the Great Pyramid, in addition to the existence of a complex around this middle pyramid, and this contains The complex contains many statues that have been carved around this pyramid, and the most prominent of these statues is the Great Sphinx, and this ancient pyramid was designed through the presence of horizontal paths so that the pyramid was built in a sequence leading to the top of the pyramid, so that the stones of large size in The lower side of the pyramid, while the smaller stones are on the upper side of the pyramid. The design of this pyramid differs from the rest of the other Egyptian pyramids, as most Egyptian pyramids contain hidden entrances that do not appear to the viewer, as for the pyramid of Khafre, it was designed in a different way. It contains two clearly visible entrances leading to the burial chamber inside the pyramid, which contains the tomb of King Khafre, and the various circumstances and factors from the time of building this pyramid to the present time have contributed to a state of erosion in the pyramid, in addition to the occurrence of erosion as Bear in the models and statues surrounding the pyramid, including the Sphinx, and around the pyramid, a group of stone blocks resulting from the erosion processes that affected the pyramid and the statues around it. (Translated by Google) In the archaeological site of Giza, on the border with the Egyptian Western Desert, everyone knows that the Pyramid of Chefren (which dates back to approximately 2500 years before Christ) is unmistakable for its smooth top still covered with limestone. In ancient times it was thought that it was full and impenetrable, that is, without passages or internal chambers but in 1818 the Italian explorer Giovanni Battista Belzoni was able to find the entrance and inside for future reference, he left it written in large letters and for almost the entire length of the wall: "Discovered by G. Belzoni. 2 March 1818". The interior is rather bare, steep and very muggy, it is necessary to know that the tunnel is low and it is necessary to advance very crouched for the whole path (about 100 meters). The narrow passage leads to the unfinished burial chamber, without sculptures or anything else, the only furniture is the red granite sarcophagus, completely devoid of inscriptions and broken.

This pyramid was built by Khufu's son, pharaoh Khafre. It is now the tallest pyramid on the plateau because it's casing in the upper registers has survived, unlike that on the great pyramid. It is also located higher on the plateau, which helps it to appear taller than it actually is. It costs 200 pounds to enter the plateau and additional 100 pounds to go inside the pyramid. Lots of vendors and hustlers around, they're not dangerous, but they are annoying.

Edit The Egyptian pyramids are ancient masonry structures located in Egypt. Sources cite at least 118 identified "Egyptian" pyramids.[1][2] Approximately 80 pyramids were built within the Kingdom of Kush, now located in the modern country of Sudan. Of those located in modern Egypt, most were built as tombs for the country's pharaohs and their consorts during the Old and Middle Kingdom periods.[3][4][5] A view of the pyramids at Giza from the plateau to the south of the complex. From left to right, the three largest are: the Pyramid of Menkaure, the Pyramid of Khafre and the Great Pyramid of Khufu. The three smaller pyramids in the foreground are subsidiary structures associated with Menkaure's pyramid.

?The statue of king Khafre? ⚫It is a funerary statue of the Pharaoh Khafre(son of Khufu), who reigned during the Fourth dynasty of ancient Egypt (c. 2570 BC).He ruled Egypt for 25 years. ⚫Khafre is the owner of the 2nd pyramid at Giza and the builder of the great sphinx. ⚫The construction is made of anorthosite gneiss, (related to diorite) a valuable, extremely hard, and dark stone brought 400 miles down the Nile River from royal quarries. This highlights Khafre's importance and power as a ruler. ⚫The falcon god 'Horus' is sitting on the back of Khafre's throne (unseen from the front)with his wings protectively around the king's neck. This pose illustrates Khafre's close relationship with his fellow god. ⚫Khafre wears a kilt covering his waist, revealing his idealized upper body and muscle definition. This depiction is not a portrait, but a symbol of Khafre's power through using the artistic conventions of Egypt—a flawless body, perfectly un-aged face, and ideal body proportions. ⚫It is now located in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. C.

This is a very special spot. When people come here, they’re not only taking photos of the great view but also make lots of funny pose or gestures. Everybody seems affected by the atmosphere and magic power of pyramid, and everybody just playing like a naughty child.

This pyramid isn’t as busy as the bigger one, so spend more time here for better photos. It is worth the 100 EGP to climb into the pyramid, but you need to be fairly able bodied. It will be hot, but how cool is it to climb inside a pyramid?!? This pyramid is easier to climb inside compared to the Red and Bent Pyramids.

Khafre or Khafron Pharaoh from the Fourth Dynasty. The third or fourth Pharaoh of the Fourth Dynasty in the Old Kingdom ruled between the years 2559 and 2535 BC. He was the one who built the second pyramid in Giza. He is most likely the son of King Khufu from a secondary wife who took over after King Jadaf Ra who had taken over the rule. The Pyramid of Khafra is similar in its magnitude to the pyramid of Khufu. His features are recognized by the Sphinx, next to his pyramid, which is represented by a lion indicating strength, with a human head indicating wisdom. A sculpted image of his temple in the Valley of the Kings was also found and a statue of King Sitting in the Egyptian Museum. To know much about his reign, there is no evidence to confirm the novel by the Greek traveler Herodotus, which describes Khufu and Khafra as tyrants. Khafra was one of Khufu's sons and his mother is not yet known. Khafra had several sisters, the eldest of whom was a second mother, but he died a young man. Some scholars believe that Kawab was in fact the son of Senefru, and thus Kawab was probably Brother Khufu. . Khafra married four wives. He had one of them, Kha, who passed my first daughter, his son Menkaure, and his daughter, Kha, passed through my second daughter, and her name in Arabic means "the appearance of the beloved royal."

Based on a mark in an interior chamber naming the work gang and a reference to the Fourth Dynasty Egyptianpharaoh Khufu, Egyptologists believe that the pyramid was built as a tomb over a 10- to 20-year period concluding around 2560 BC. Initially standing at 146.5 metres (481 feet), the Great Pyramid was the tallest man-made structure in the world for more than 3,800 years until Lincoln Cathedral was finished in 1311 AD. It is estimated that the pyramid weighs approximately 6 million tonnes, and consists of 2.3 million blocks of limestone and granite, some weighing as much as 80 tonnes. Originally, the Great Pyramid was covered by limestone casing stones that formed a smooth outer surface; what is seen today is the underlying core structure. Some of the casing stones that once covered the structure can still be seen around the base. There have been varying scientific and alternative theories about the Great Pyramid's construction techniques. Most accepted construction hypotheses are based on the idea that it was built by moving huge stones from a quarry and dragging and lifting them into place. There are three known chambers inside the Great Pyramid. The lowest chamber is cut into the bedrock upon which the pyramid was built and was unfinished. The so-called[2] Queen's Chamber and King's Chamber are higher up within the pyramid structure. The main part of the Giza complex is a set of buildings that included two mortuary temples in honour of Khufu (one close to the pyramid and one near the Nile), three smaller pyramids for Khufu's wives, an even smaller "satellite" pyramid, a raised causeway connecting the two temples, and small mastaba tombs for nobles surrounding the pyramid.

Constructing the pyramids involved moving huge quantities of stone. Papyri discovered at the Egyptian desert near the Red Sea, in 2013 by archaeologist Pierre Tallet, revealed the journal of Merer, an official of Egypt involved in transporting limestone along the Nile River. These papyri reveal processes in the building of the Great Pyramid at Giza, the tomb of the Pharaoh Khufu, just outside modern Cairo.[21] Rather than overland transport of the limestone used in building the pyramid, there is evidence that limestone blocks were transported along the Nile River, in the journal of Merer, preserved remnants of ancient canals, and transport boats discovered.[22]

The Egyptian pyramids are ancient masonry structures located in Egypt. Sources cite at least more than 118 identified Egyptian pyramids. Most were built as tombs for the country’s pharaohs and their consorts during the Middle Kingdom periods. A view of the pyramids at Giza from the plateau to the south of the complex. From left to right, the three largest are: the Pyramid of Menkaure, the Pyramid of Khafre and the Great Pyramid of Khufu. The three smaller pyramids in the foreground are subsidiary structures associated with Menkaure’s pyramid. The earliest known Egyptian pyramids are found at Saqqara, northwest of Memphis, although at least one step-pyramid-like structure has been found at Saqqara, dating to the First Dynasty: Mastaba 3808, which has been attributed to the reign of Pharaoh Anedjib, with inscriptions, and other archaeological remains of the period, suggesting there may have been others. The otherwise earliest among these is the Pyramid of Djoser built c. 2630–2620 BCE during the Third Dynasty. This pyramid and its surrounding complex are generally considered to be the world’s oldest monumental structures constructed of dressed masonry. The most famous Egyptian pyramids are those found at Giza, on the outskirts of Cairo. Several of the Giza pyramids are counted among the largest structures ever built. The Pyramid of Khufu is the largest Egyptian pyramid. It is the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still in existence; this is despite being the oldest wonder by about 2,000 years. The Giza Pyramids, built to endure an eternity. The monumental tombs are relics of Egypt Old Kingdom Era. Egypt’s pharaohs expected to become gods in the preparation for the next world they erected temples to the gods and massive pyramid tombs for themselves -filled with all the things each ruler would need to guide and sustain himself in the next world!!!

Pyramid itself I want to give 5 stars but my experience when I was there seeing all these trash everywhere from local people being careless made me sad. Also all those animal waste around pyramid from tourist business with horse ride and camel ride ruined one of the most wonderful architecture has ever been made in human history. It has been few years now since last time I was there so hopefully it's been taken care of

King Khafre (about 2558-2532 BC) the son of King Khufu built his hierarchical group on the Giza plateau next to his father’s group, and his pyramid appears higher than the pyramid of Khufu because it is on a higher hill, although in fact it is lower in height, reaching about 143.5 m. The nucleus of the pyramid consists of blocks of local limestone, and the top of the pyramid still retains its original covering made of luxurious limestone, which in the past covered the entire pyramid, so the Egyptians brought it from Tora quarries by boats anchored near the pyramid The mortuary temple of Khafre, at the foot of his pyramid, and its valley temple at the front of the ascending road were the largest among the temples of any other hierarchical group, and they were the best preserved among the temples of the Old Kingdom.

The second biggest Pyramid in the site and the most beautiful one for me as well, the tip of the Pyramid looks different than the other ones, which makes it more beautiful than the others.

This pyramids tends not to get all the love because it is ever so slightly smaller than the great pyramid, however this is actually the best pyramid. From the eye test you can’t tell that it’s smaller than the great pyramid and unlike the other pyramids the top of the pyramid is somewhat still intact.

You can not visit Cairo without going to the Gizeh plateau and the pyramids. This historic place makes you feel the history of the faraos in all their glory.

An easy climb and a rewarding (but humid) tomb. Belzoni greets you!

Extra fee required to go inside the pyramid. It's up to you as it's pretty tight and crowded going in and out. The space inside is pretty small and once you seen one the others are the same. There were some construction happening on my visit so watch your steps and your surroundings.
