Entry level hiking and nature preserve. Not may trails but what you do see makes up for it. For one thing this place has a wonderful tree covered trail and looks like a tunnel of trees. Two things though. The Truckee river has often flooded this area so it's best to go two days after a flood unless you don't mind lots of mud and secondly sometimes this place attracts questionable people from the streets so it's best to go during the day with other people.

Such a beautiful place so close to downtown and literally in the heart of the town. So, green, quite and serene. There are walking areas, place to sit, direct access to river and railing. Also, bonus you can watch the train tracks snd maybe trains if you like to.

Well done, easy access, easy walkabout on the trails. W/ the loop about .86 miles. Can get pretty muddy, note*** NO DOGS are allowed. Had to come back w/o mine to visit it.

Truly peaceful and beautiful, i love how well maintained its been throughout the years. You can see the beauty return after the fire from a couple years back. Blessings

The Oxbow Nature Study Area is a great place for a short hike along the Truckee River. There are about 3/4 of a mile of trails in the area, a pond, some small wetlands, and views of the Truckee River. Best to visit in the spring when the landscape is vibrant.

Was really interesting to hear all the birds and see the trees , which were thick and dense. Also there are public restrooms and various look out decks. Kinda fun to see, also scary lol

Wide easy trail with lots of bench's. Great viewing platforms over the rushing Truckee. Trail was a little overgrown at times.

A collection of short trails and intermittent and limited river access within brush and swamp terrain. Trails appear to be dry in deep summer and mucky in spring. At least one portion of a trail has an awkward log crossing over a creek. Not maintained very well and sometimes a little confining because of the brush.

It's okay. I was hoping for something more, quiet and peaceful. The traffic from the Freeway is constant and the trails are crowded with tall brush and trees, not many clearings.

Beautiful short walking tail. Great for strollers and walking as long as the trail is not muddy. We come here to have small picnics and walk around.

Just a great spot to stroll through the woods and next to the fabulous Truckee River. Folks out working today and I was admiring a plant/bush and a nice pretty lady that was working, told me about the plant as well as the history. Yes watch out for street folks. As well as little critters in the woods. But so worth it!

The park needs attention. It's not the park it once was, but still a beautiful place to take a walk by the River at the end of Reno.
