According
to
the
design
of
F.
Argunov,
a
large
stone
greenhouse
was
erected
with
a
central
octagonal
pavilion
standing
between
two
glass
galleries
ending
in
small
one-story
pavilions.
It
served
not
only
as
a
greenhouse,
but
also
as
a
dance
hall.
The
greenhouse
pavilions
are
richly
decorated
with
columns,
stucco
moldings
and
coats
of
arms.
The
huge entrance
doors
of
the
Orangery
are
made
deliberately
wide
and
high,
in
keeping
with
the
fashion
for
dress
of
the
late
18th
century.
Such
doors
allowed
a
gentleman
with
a
lady
dressed
in
a
dress
with
hoops
to
enter
the
dance
hall
and
side
pavilions
calmly
and
unhindered.
The
Sheremetyevs
spared
no
expense
in
training
qualified
personnel,
in
particular
gardeners.
Invited
foreign
masters
trained
the
serfs.
As
a
result,
the
count's
serf
gardeners
themselves
grew
pomegranate,
orange,
lemon,
as
well
as
coffee
and
laurel
trees
in
the
greenhouses.
The
Kuskovo
greenhouse
contained
one
of
the
richest
collections
of
exotic
plants
and
flowers
in
Russia.
Now
there
is
an
exposition
of
the
State
Museum
of
Ceramics.
For
an
additional
fee,
it
is
possible
to
take
photographs
inside
the
museum.
