If you’re interested in coming here for dinner, definitely put in a reservation. This place is small-ish, roughly 10 tables with a few set for larger groups. The staff here are friendly and service is quick. They have live music (warning for anyone who has any sensitivity to loud music, this isn’t the place for you) and it can get pretty loud. Menu is different than what is listed on their website - perhaps something the restaurant management can look into. Definitely a good place for drinks with friends, and the food is decent but I won’t say it’s amazing. The nachos were pretty lack lustre for a Mexican restaurant. However, the calamari was nice and tender. Ordered the fish tacos since many people on here gave it such rave reviews. They were portioned well but lacked some seasoning. Wouldn’t mind coming back here.

This place is a vibe! Went here on a Friday evening to grab tacos and drinks with friends and had a really good experience! First off, they do check for your proof of vaccination and ID upon entrance which is a good precaution. The space is cozy and had a very welcoming ambiance. Parking can be found towards the back (make a right on the Street before El Bocho if you're heading north from Yonge). When I went on a Friday evening there was live entertainment which I really enjoyed! There was singing and dancing involved and you can tell everyone in the place was having a really good time. We ordered calamari, fish tacos and the Al pastor and the portions were huge! Really enjoyed the fish tacos here. Drinks were also good and the presentation of the food and drinks were quite nice. Servers are friendly and you can tell that they are genuinely happy serve you and accommodate your needs. They even allowed our party to bring in cake as we were celebrating something and they were very accommodating with that and it was greatly appreciated. I recommend this place and will definitely come back soon!

Staff are friendly, service is descent and ambiance is ok. As far as the food is concerned unfortunately I cannot say it represents good value or quality. The beef tacos were mostly comprised of lettuce sprinkled with ground beef (that tasted off), the mole enchilada was just bitter and the chicken inside was dry, the nachos tasted of just salt and was only served with sour cream (no guac or different kinds of salsa). The food was honestly bad and I expected a lot more from what I consider to be an authentic Mexican restaurant.

We came Wednesday lunch time, and it’s quiet, got greeted and seated immediately. EI Bocho is a traditional Mexican restaurant, with cozy decorations . They also have limited patio tables. Service is very good and fast. We liked the atmosphere here, very relaxing and casual. We ordered : nachos 4/5 ENMOLADA 4/5 Huarache 4/5 They also serve PINA COLADA Served in pineapple, will definitely try that next time if not driving!

Good food and drinks, with large portions! The fish tacos were great, I would highly recommend them! We also ordered a Pina colada and Mango Margherita, both were excellent, and you could really taste the fruit in both. Service was okay, the waitress checked on us maybe 2-3 times, and we had to flag her down for the bill even though it wasn't busy. However, it seemed a smaller business, maybe family-owned? Definitely worth checking out, will be coming back to see the live music!

Really wanted to like this place. Started great - drinks were delicious and nachos tasted great. When the mains came (enmoladas for me and the enchiladas for my girlfriend) they looked delicious. However, both were Extremely bland on two dishes that are traditionally bursting with flavour. I couldn’t taste a single ounce of seasoning and the meat was just boiled and served. The sauce has barely any flavour, which is shocking considering the dishes were covered in it. Beans and rice also the same case. It’s too bad because the ambience is great and service was pleasant too. If I came here again, it would only be for drinks.

Very nice Mexican food with portions that are huge! Look at my nachos (we shared, no I'm not sumo wrestler I cannot eat that 3K calorie plate) and my tacos! Taco a little too mild but the nachos are special! Recommend to eat.

Homey Mexican spot with delicious food and a laid back atmosphere. Food is very reasonable priced with big portions and friendly service. I really liked the chimichanga and their guac. They also have live music on Friday and Saturday nights which are very popular so I'd recommend making a reservation on busy days. They also have some cute cocktails I'd like to try in the future!

So good, so delicious I am so glad I finally tried this gem of a restaurant. I went for the first time as I was craving Mexican and now I am kicking myself for not trying this place much sooner. The portions are big. Great value for the size. Not knowing this we ordered 2 appetizers the guacamole and ceviche which it was best I ever had (the ceviche). For main I ordered fish tacos and my husband had this other plate which I forget the name but it was so good. This is a family restaurant not a chain so you really do get authentic Mexican cuisine. I highly recommend this place.

Went here on Saturday night! Reservations are must. The place had live music Aftr 8pm and just loved it. The place has a perfect ambience the whole time I was here I felt I was in Mexico. Food is good, but it’s too mild and the flavours were not strong.. it’s not what I expected from a Mexican food. May be you can ask them to turn the heat and flavours more. The nachos, Mexican style chicken wings were perfect and too good.

Came here on a whim with my girlfriend and discovered a hidden gem in the North York/Richmond Hill area. Great atmosphere and surprisingly busy on a weekday. Will definitely be coming back on a weekend where there is live music. Ordered the fish tacos and birria which were delicious, can’t wait to come back and try the other dishes. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a “Taco Tuesday” type of night. Thanks to Gabriella and the whole team at El Bocho for looking after us.

I’d say this place is 3.5 star for me. First, the food is not tasty. The beef taco is super dry, no sauce at all. We expressed our concern and we were told that’s the way it is. Our server took it off the bill for us, so I’d say the service and attitude is great. The chicken on the nacho is super dry as well. Wings is 10 for $15. It comes with lots of fries too. It’s ok for the price but I don’t eat spicy and the wings are too spicy for me. They don’t have bottled ketchup, instead, it’s small individual packets. Another turn down is the fruit flies. This place is filled with fruit flies. Not just occasionally 1 or 2, but it’s constantly 4-6 flying around me during my stay. Overall, service is attentive but food is just not good enough for us to come back.

Just walked in on a weekday for dinner. It was not busy when we got there but the place started to fill up. Foods came out quick and delicious. Good service, esp our waitress always have a smile on her face. We will visit again for sure!

Amazing vibes at this place! The drinks were delicious, best mojito I’ve ever had. The service was so friendly and the live entertainment felt like I was front row in a concert. The food was 5 star and the prices were so reasonable. The chicken enchiladas are a must try. I will definitely be returning and bringing all my friends. If I could give it 10 stars I would!

Great service and great atmosphere. I was there for a birthday party and the live music was awesome. He was so energetic and fun. We danced around and had drinks. The staff were very accommodating to us. The drinks and the food were also amazing. All in all great experience.

A relatively smaller place - reservations are an absolute must. They were very nice to accommodate the two of us last minute as we simply showed up. Drinks were excellent however food was not as much. Decent food though protein was under seasoned. Some items (beans and rice) were quite good but chicken not as much. Overall nice place with attentive staff.

Instagram @chopstixinthesix Follow Us!! We got the Tacos with Fish, Enchiladas and Pina Colada. The Tacos came in 3 perfectly toasted flour tortilla, lightly battered fish that were crispy, paired with lettuce and chipotle sauce. The tacos were perfectly sized and was super delicious! The Enchiladas came with 3 lightly fried corn tortilla stuffed with chicken topped with Roja (medium spicy) and sour cream! It was my first time having this, and was super intrigue, the tortilla was slightly crispy and loaded with chicken, it was also served with rice and beans. Finally, the PINA COLADA, what a show stopper it was!! It was served in pineapple, the flavour was on point and love how it wasnt watered down, so I could taste the rum in it

The restaurant is often all booked during live music nights at 8pm. The drink menu is decently priced. The food was quite bland and under seasoned especially the side soup and quesadilla. The limes provided were also all dehydrated with no juice.

The food is excellent and the service is superior. The decorations and atmosphere are also amazing. The restaurant has a Mexican cantina feel, very fun with open air. The menu is sparse/limited which goes with the vibe, this restaurant had a music night show, and every customer was really excited and having fun there.

Had their nachoes and it didn’t taste as great as nachos I’ve had elsewhere. They can definitely layer the toppings better and add some spice, otherwise it just feels like you’re cheese on the chips. The salsa also is not the typical salsa, it tasted like a sweet tomato sauce. The enchiladas I ordered were the spicy sauce veg enchiladas. The sauce was not that great. In general was a mid experience.

One of the best and authentic Mexican restaurants I’ve been to in a long while. The service was great even for a packed house; quick, friendly, & efficient. The food and beverages were so tasty I wish I had a bigger stomach so I could have had seconds. I got the shrimp cocktail with corn chips and a margarita served to me in a skull-shaped glass with lots of flavours and bold colours (the photo just doesn’t do it justice). I highly recommend this location and can’t wait to go back!

Enchiladas suizas wwere super goooddd, totopos super tasty (tortilla chips), chimichanga delicious, salsas 3 different types, one super mega spicy, red was so so, green was ok little watery but good flavor, sopa azteca, was more like tortilla soup, wasn't bad but ok, frijoles charros (beans) they were food but forgot to put pork skin and bacon, rice I didn't like the flavor, enmoladas were good, the place playa mexican music not reggeatón which I loved and the decoration is very mexican.

Came here on a Sunday evening. Only street parking available but we didn’t have any problem finding a spot. It was a fun experience. We ordered the ceviche, empanadas, fish taco, as well as the sizzling stone pot. Overall food was okay, the ceviche was great but the beans were a bit dry for the stone pot wraps. I enjoyed the atmosphere but since it’s on Yonge we had fire trucks pass by twice which was very loud. Overall would come again for a party

We just loove to be at El Bocho, the food is soo delicious, you can see the love that they put on the plate . The customer service so personalized, they make sure to make us feel comfortable since the start to the end. The owner woman ( im so sorry I forgot the name )was always making sure that we were enjoying our time there .

I was craving Mexican food and found this place on Google. There is parking on the street as well as on the back side of the building. Would recommend to call and make a reservation as it gets busy. Great music, excellent service, nominal prices for the quantity and the interior of this place made us feel like we were in Mexico. We ordered a few drinks that were served in skull glasses. Appetizers were nice and their in-house hot sauce made our food more tasty. If you are not able to decide on what to order then just get Birria tacos and Alambre on fire. I would recommend this place to anyone craving for mexican food. Will be back again.

Our go-to authentic Mexican resto closed due to COVID and haven’t been able to find a great sit down place in our area since. I’m happy that we were able to find this location in Richmond Hill. The service was quick and staff is very friendly. Drinks have great option and menu has a great balance of items. I ordered the enchiladas and hubby ordered burrito which was a big healthy serving. Because we had apps he couldn’t finish it all. Definitely worth the money and we will be regulars at this location. Parking outside on the street for one hour during designated times listed on the sign.

All the ingredients were really fresh, from the protein to the veggies. Flavours were really authentic and looking forward to dining in restaurant to try their more unique dishes. Worth a try for Richmond Hill residences

Pic Attached: Enchiladas Suizas accompanied with hot sauce. Quantity: Enough for 2 people. 4 properly stuffed creamy Enchiladas. Quality: Decent. A little too tangy but it was good. Ambience: Very nice. Hospitality: good

Amazing restaurant, doesn't get the recognition it deserves. Much better than other overpriced mexican food places (if you know you know). Food is great quality, and priced very well, staff is friendly and great service. There's also live music some nights. Overall great vibes, food, and people! Would recommend
