Always delicious food and coffee here! We go at least once a week for a long time now and I have never had a bad coffee, meal or service. Staff are super friendly, welcoming and on top of everything. The meals are always delicious and coffee is the best I have had since living in Toronto! I wish we could give more than 5 stars because these guys deserve it!

Yesterday my husband and I came here for brunch. He ordered the chicken and waffles and I ordered the hot honey chicken sandwich. Oh my gosh. We were beyond impressed. Portions are so generous compared to most places. The taste of everything was amazing. Juicy chicken, perfectly seasoned, the home fries were just yummy. A+++. Amazing service to top off a great brunch experience. My husband is not one for brunch in the first place. Elephant Grind Coffee, you've officially converted him! Lol thank you for giving him a reason to take me to brunch from now on! Can't wait to taste the rest of the menu

Very clean & great vibe! Really love their plants. I am a plants lover. Another good place for brunch and coffee with family & friends. The quality of food was good and reasonably priced. The servers friendly and efficient. Quick service and our brunches came fast and hot. We ordered breakfast sandwich with salad, ricotta pancakes, smoke salmon egg Benedict and bulgogi beef poutine. Free refill for their hot coffee. There was 15 minutes lineup today but still acceptable. We needed to put our names & phone number to add to their waiting list in person. Definitely Recommend to friends!

Cute brunch place!!! It gets quite busy on weekends, and you have to check in and wait until you can get a table. The wait time was pretty quick though. The Smoked Salmon eggs Benedict was delicious. I wish there was more dressing or condiments on the salad (…more of a spring mix than a salad!), and the chips were a bit too deep fried for my liking. Update: I can here a second time, and I have to say they really improved the salad. I got avocado this time and it was delicious!

Multiple visits and they never disappoint. Brought my friend here for birthday celebration. Arrived and was promptly greeted and checked-in, leave your number and they'd notify you when your table becomes available. (You may not see a line up outside but there's ALWAYS a line, be sure to check-in first.) We were seated outside to enjoy the summer sun, I couldn't help but noticed few plates with liquid were placed around the perimeter of the patio and I figured it was an effort they made to keep the wasps at bay. (I was also acknowledged of this issue by the staff upon check-in) There are unusually more of buzz this year due to the warmer weather, all in all if one cannot tolerate the nuisance, simply wait to be seated inside! I ordered their fish and chips, fish was crispy on the outside, flaky and moist on the inside, tartar sauce was on point whereas my friend enjoyed his chicken waffles. Very attentive staff, they'd gladly help with all your needs. Our meal was absolutely enjoyable. :)

Cute small cafe but always full of customers. The wait is usually 30 mins or more. First come first serve. Food portion is huge! This chicken waffle is big enough for 2 people or you just won’t need lunch or dinner after this. Lol Charsiu egg Benedicts is the must-try. I can’t wait to try everything on their menu. I love iced Nutella Latte. Been having it couple times and it’s always good. 10/10 for food and vibe. Don’t expect them to rush tho since they’re busy.

We visited this restaurant on a Sunday morning. They don't take reservations. There were 8 groups of people ahead of us. We waited one hour for our table. We ordered a latte, smoked salmon egg benedict and ricotta pancakes. The latte was excellent and the latte art was good. The egg benedict was pretty good and the pancakes were good but nothing special. Service was okay as they were pretty busy.

Tried this place for the first time, and I now understand why they say go early! Cafe filled up almost instantly, and the food itself didn't disappoint. Flat White wasn't too strong or bitter, and had nice chocolatey notes. The Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict was delicious, and the potatoes were very crispy and well seasoned. Definitely want to come back here!

Amazing experience! Arrived at opening time and there was a bit of a queue to be seated but that was expected, considering how popular they are. Service was a bit slow at first for taking our order but that gave me time to thoroughly look at their menu. Besides being aesthetically pleasing, their foods had amazing flavour and portions were generous. The elephant melt was rich in flavour and very filling to the point where you reached a food coma. My boyfriend got the chicken and waffles and he said he was completely filled and in a food coma as well. The matcha latte comes with sugar but I thought it was sweet enough on its own. Despite having long lineups, they did not rush us to leave and had great service overall.

There are very few places where you feel the passion and commitment of the entire team. 10/10 experience. Excellent service, Supreme quality of food. The master Barista Mr. K. Wong will always have my business. Keep up the great work.

Finally got a chance to try this place out for brunch and really enjoyed it. It's extremely popular so if you want a table, make sure to show up before 9:15AM as there's limited space and they don't take reservations. Our party of 4 shared the chicken and waffles, smoked salmon eggs benny, ricotta pancakes and lap cheong hash. Everything was very good but my favourite would have to be the chicken and waffles. The ricotta pancakes could have been fluffier but was still tasty. Coffee and lattes were good as well and they give free refills for coffee. Prices are on par with most brunch places. Service was excellent, never let my coffee mug go empty! Will definitely return!

Small but cozy brunch spot. Came at around 11 and waited an hour or so in line to get a table. Food was good as well as the drinks and they were served in a reasonable time. Brunch items had Asian flavors so definitely good if you have preferences for this type of Asian palette.

My boyfriend and I visited this place for brunch and the food and service was amazing! Though there was a wait, it wasn’t too bad. Seems like we came at a busy time, the place is organized enough to let people know when their table is available. The ambiance is very instagrammable, “aesthetically pleasing” as some might call it. We had to write down our phone number in able for the restaurant to contact us when a table is available. As we walked in, we were served by a friendly waiter/server and we ordered the chicken and waffles and the Nutella latte for the drinks. I would highly recommend this place to anyone if you’re around the area 🙌🏼

Best brunch place in Markham! The portion you get and the taste of food was just awesome! Vegan options are also available so it caters to groups that have different preferences. The service was top-notch: the waiter was wearing a smile on his face, and he took care of us well. Be prepared for a one-hour wait if you come around on weekends.

Fantastic as always and they continue to surpass our expectations. Char Siu pulled pork eggs benedict was flavorful and cooked to perfection as was my chicken (crispy and moist) and waffles. And I never would have thought that arugula salad would be a perfect side!! A fantastic and cordial service team will have your meal out in no time ! Weekends are busy but worth the wait.

Been looking forward to try the brunch here for awhile and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious, service was excellent and the atmosphere was very relaxed (albeit a tad loud at times). They have a great automated system that texts to advise when your table is ready. Their menu indicates that there’s a 90-minute seating limit; however, they did not rush any guests out. We got the chicken and waffles, bulgogi eggs Benny and vanilla lattes. Highly recommend and would definitely come back 😊

I had brunch with my friends. this is small, narrowed with the table and noisy. But all I had was delicious. So it is worth waiting. I ordered 5 dishes. The best dish is chicken and waffle, the classical breakfast. Chicken is very crispy, and the spicy dip is very nice. I thought chicken and waffles didn't go well together. But the combination of the two was good.

Excellent food and service. Tables are well spaced out (re. Covid concerns). Good came pretty fast after we ordered. It was an hour wait time on the Saturday afternoon~ Highly recommend this place for brunch! Great variety and tastes awesome!

Another place for good brunch, the quality is good and reasonably priced. The server was friendly and helpful. We ordered classic breakfast and elephant melt, both at 5/5! Latte and tea are great too. The only thing is that they have a big lineup and you have to be in person to be added to the waiting list, not yelp or google, so be sure to arrive early.

I've been here a few times pre-pandemic and this is the first time I've visited since. Great fusion brunch is hard to come by if you're not downtown. Chicken and waffles is by far my favourite, and the fried chicken is just perfect always. The sweet/salty combination gets me every time. The potatoes (not pictured) are also SO good, crispy in all the right ways. The downside is the wait time is always fairly long, especially on weekends. Every time I've come I wait 30-45 minutes for a table.

Staff are friendly, attentive and good at serving the tables despite the traffic. Food was prepared ahead of time and was served cold. It seemed like most of the dishes or at least most items were prepared ahead of time and sat there cold to be served. We ordered 4 items and 3 were cold eggs, Benedict’s, pulled pork, potatoes. Chef was chatting outside kitchen for a good 10-12 mins, which shows the reason for low quality food being served.

Great place for breakfast! Service and food is great. I had the chicken and waffles. The chicken is crispy and the sauce provided is perfect for dipping. The waffles are crispy and soft in the middle. Of course! The maple syrup drizzled over the waffle and chicken is a perfect combo.

We arrived for brunch around 10:30 on Sunday morning. We had to wait 30 minutes, but it was worth it! The food was delicious and the service was friendly. I’m vegan so they removed the dressing on the teriyaki tofu bowl and surprisingly, it was very yummy. My non-vegan friends enjoyed their crab cakes and chicken sandwich as well. The portions are big and the drinks are available with dairy free substitutes. Highly recommended.

This place is busy on weekends, so it’s better to book earlier. The eggs Benedict was delicious. It would better if they had more vegan choices .

It really GRINDS my gears that we don’t Brunch enough🥲 We got Chicken & Waffles, Char Siu Pulled Pork Eggs Benedicts, and Lap Cheong Hash. You can’t forget Chicken & Waffle when it comes to Brunch, crispy, juicy, tender, flavourful pieces of Fried Chicken served on top of the most perfect Waffle, topped with Syrup and side Chipotle, it’s SO GOOD!! Char Siu Pulled Pork Eggs Benedicts came in 2 Bennys that had an English Muffin Base, Pulled Pork that was tender, and 2 Poached Eggs, expected more Char Siu flavour if they called it that, but it was still an amazing dish! Lap Cheong Hash came with Breakfast Sausage, Chinese Sausage, Red Peppers, Spinach, Cabbage, Gochujang, and 2 Poached Eggs, it was def a fun idea for Hash, the Poached Eggs balanced the Gochujang really well! We also got Mocha and Hojicha Latte, loved it so much along with the Latte Art!

A great little spot for some Asian fusion brunch. It’s not the biggest place so we had to line up on a Sunday afternoon. We were a party of four so we had to wait for a table to open up even though there were a few table of twos available. Sucks that they weren’t beside each other to put them together. The food was good. A nice variety of brunch items that have a flare of Asian in them. The drinks were quite good (just took a bit longer than I expected since our food came before all our drinks did). Worth going for sure.

Stopped by on a whim and had a great brunch. Small and busy cafe but got seated right away. Good service was quick and servers were attentive. Docked on star for food as my pulled pork tasted a bit salty but I think this was due to the vinaigrette of the salad which leached into the sandwhich.

Busy place with super delicious fusion brunch menu. Food is fresh and super tasty. Love the banana foster French toast, fish & chips with light beer batter. Generous portions of fried chicken on waffles. Friendly servers. Great coffee Worth the visit

Must try the chicken waffle!! Especially the fried chicken, u won’t regret. The avocado yuzu sauce really recommended!! Nice customer service, nice atmosphere.

I would give this place a 10 star if I could. Food was superb. Home fried was crispy on the outside and soft like mashed potatoes in the inside. The service! Service went far and beyond. They really know how to make customers happy. My kids shared a hot matcha, they served it in two small cups and did beautiful latter art on both cups. Thank you so much! This is a keeper!

Delicious food and fast service. The lineup is usually annoying - yes it's a popular location for brunch! We waited 40 minutes to get a table for 2. About the atmosphere, the decoration is very nice and neat but customers are very loud and also the ventilation is not the best. I had smoked salmon Egg Benedicts and a Cortado. Really well made and I was happy with my food and service.

Elephant Grind Coffee is a gem of a find for the brunch enthusiast. On a Saturday after a 30 minute wait for a table, we got an amazing brunch experience! The food selection is carefully curated and worth multiple trips! The Benedict I ordered was yummy and delicious. French toast and Hash got similar reviews from my partners in crime. The only down side to good tasting food is average quantity(or maybe it’s me cause I was hungry). I saw quite a few tables ordering Chicken and Waffles, that only means I’ll be back at Elephant Grind soon!

This is my favourite brunch place in the GTA, I have to come here at least once a month! Unfortunately they don't take reservations but usually the wait time is about 15-20 minutes. The food is consistently great with fresh ingredients, great portion sizes, and Kyle is always a pleasure to chat with every time we visit! Their coffee and lattes are also consistently well made with great espresso and perfectly steamed milk!

Nice little café with a very comfy atmosphere. Seating were well placed. Service was fast and efficient. Very friendly i might add. Food was fast and good portion. Brunch menu has enough selection to satisfy your savory or sweet cravings. Will definitely come bck to try the chicken and waffle and fish and chips as it looked very well presented when i saw them on others tables...lol definitely a must try

Though this location is a little hidden, it’s definitely well known! There is a line up for breakfast, brunch and lunch so I suggest going early or be prepared to wait. We shared the Bulgogi Beef sandwich, a latte and a regular coffee and the sandwich was super delicious! Lots of flavour, bun was soft but had structure to keep everything intact. The home fries were also 👍🏻! It is a smaller spot so you are sitting close to the tables next to you. Regardless, I’m planning to return to try other items on the menu!

Food was delicious, the fried chicken is some of the best I've had, the waffles were fantastic and the dipping sauce that came with the chicken was great as well. Service was alright, as you'd expect and so was the atmosphere. That said, they don't take reservations, and they are normally very busy so expect to wait a long time. We came on a weekday, and they close at 3pm so there's a big chance you won't get seats b4 they close.

You cant give enough stars to this place. My wife and I brought our kid and he enjoyed the waffles, home fries, and chicken. The macha late was splendid, and their new thai iced tea was perfectly sweetened without going over. Waiting staff had excellent manners and were efficient. As you can tell from my other reviews. My suggestion is essentially a guarantee. Will definitely be coming back again!

Everything I have ever had hear has been so good. If you like brunch as much as we do this brunch is the perfect spot for you. It is definitely one the best chicken and waffles we've had. We've tried a few eggs benedict options also, any of them are a great choice. This location features ample seating and beautiful hot beverages as well. Just expect to wait especially on the weekends as it can get very busy.

Came here with my partner for brunch after reading rave reviews and we were not disappointed. There was a bit of an expected wait time (about 25 minutes for us) but we had some coffee while we waited. The coffee itself was surprisingly good! As for food, we got the smoked salmon eggs benedict and the elephant melt. Both flavourful, presented beautifully, and absolutely delicious and filling. The house salad that came as a side was fresh, and the home fries seasoned well. Our waiter, Kyle, was fun and friendly and made the whole experience all the better. Highly recommend coming here; the wait can be long, but the awesome food and service are worth the wait.

Cute brunch spot, but like most brunch places, it gets super busy on weekends so expect long wait time.

A very nice coffee shop with a nice outdoor patio. We tried the coffee, and it was really great: very strong and flavourful. We also tried the coffee cake and it was also very fresh and tasty. We couldn't try any of the pastry or breakfast items as we were there late in the afternoon, but we will definitely visit again.

Came here for brunch awhile back amd was pleasantly surprised! I knew I wanted to try their coffees, but decided to stay and dine in for their delicious sounding breakfast / brunch items. Ordered the char siu pulled pork eggs Benedict and it was just so perfectly cooked! The char siu wasn’t too fatty and the meat packed on so much flavour. To wash it all down, I had the hojicha latte and when brought out, took one look at the latte art and knew I made the right choice to try this place out! Food was excellent and service couldn’t have been better! No rush to order and the attendant checked at all the right times to ensure I was ok! Definitely coming back for more brunch items and those donuts! Great job! Fiollow me on IG @thirst_and_taste for better pics and more amazing content!

LOVE the Nutella latte! Smoked salmon eggs benedict is delicious, but the space is tight, and noise/background music is a bit loud.

  • 4/5 Eldon H. 2 years ago on Google
Got the smoked salmon Benedict with avocado 🥑 spread and a cappuccino. The food and service was good but expect long waits upwards to an hour to get a table. There's also a seating limit of 90 minutes as well.

Amazing breakfast/brunch, great flavours and good coffee. Service was exceptional. I need to come back to try everything on the menu! Highly recommend you drive out to try it.

It’s nice to have fusion brunch places outside of the downtown Toronto core and this place definitely did not disappoint. It is walk-ins only but we happened to visit in the late afternoon so our wait was about 30 minutes. Had to order the Nutella latte but the lap cheong hash took me by surprise. It was such a unique dish, bursting with flavour. It’s a nice little cafe but can be a loud environment.
