👍 Nice greasy spoon breakfast / diner. Service was a bit slow though...Took about 20 minutes from ordering to being served my meal (corned beef hash). But it was tasty. People often mention breakfast, good, diner, eggs, home, staff, time, fries, bacon, brunch,

SOY / LEGUME Allergy Friendly: Yes G6PD Deficiency Friendly: Yes Baby Friendly: No Rustic and traditional diner serving made to order dishes using fresh ingredients. A big selection of breakfast items - which sometimes make it hard to choose from, Sp bring a friend to share items! Free refill of fresh coffee is a nice touch. Turkey bacon is tasty, as is corned beef (which is the fresh made style). Homefries is also great. NOTE: all the breads (all types) were not appropriate for my son. Good price as 10-15$ per person. However it gets very busy, so be prepared may not address all your questions in too much detail.

I had a delicious breakfast prepared with fresh ingredients. On top of a great food, I got the best server I had in a diner. She didn’t rush to take my order and help me to customize my order. In the end, I had a healthy omelette and crispiest toasts ever!

It was my second time visiting during busy brunch time on Sunday 😂 I love the big breakfast so much cuz I can have variety of food like toasted bread, pancakes, eggs, sausage, ham, bacon and potatoes! I highly recommend. The other dish we ordered was plain omelette and I won’t order it again. I ate it up though 🫠

Frankly, I couldn't say they are the best brekkie place in town, especially with such price, there are plenty of choices around. However, for the nostalgic value and the atmosphere, it is worth to pay a visit. The hollandaise sauce taste kinda different, it was less sour than the usual ones, but still taste good. The omelette was pretty alright, it could be less cooked tho. Filling were plenty and fresh, but the home fries were slightly soggy.

Stepping into Three Coins Restaurant in Richmond Hill feels like taking a trip back in time. As the oldest restaurant in the area, it has preserved its vintage charm, complete with old radios and an impressive collection of iconic pictures that adorn the walls, featuring legends like Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley. The atmosphere alone is worth a visit. The menu offers a variety of breakfast options to satisfy different palates. While the food is good, it falls slightly short of matching the remarkable atmosphere. The dishes are well-prepared and flavorful, but they could use some extra finesse to truly elevate the dining experience. That being said, the nostalgic ambiance of Three Coins Restaurant compensates for any minor shortcomings in the culinary department. Every corner tells a story, and it's a joy to immerse oneself in the vintage decor and absorb the rich history surrounding this establishment. The staff members are friendly and attentive, adding to the overall welcoming atmosphere. They make an effort to provide a pleasant dining experience and ensure that guests feel at home. If you're looking for more than just a meal, and are seeking a nostalgic journey through time, Three Coins Restaurant is a must-visit. While the food may not be exceptional, the unique ambiance and rich history make it a memorable destination.

When you eat here please be considerate of the business and staff, with a 10 person limit business may be hurting, eat and leave to make allowance for more customers so this business can make it through COVID!! Called in advance, no one picked up but seconds later staff called me back and spoke with me. Got there, 10 person limit, no problem, waited my turn to have a seat. Meanwhile two men snuck in from the back to sit down and the staff noticed immediately and asked them to wait their turn and enforced the covid protocols. Service was great and food was amazing. Note: our server was visibly under the weather but was working hard for every table, so appreciated. We have been going here for years and the 1 hour drive here was so worth it. Also- BEST HOME FRIES I’ve ever had hands down.

3 Coins is a typical diner with only breakfast and a lunch menu. The food is quite good and cheap for brunch (compared to other chain brunch places). The portions were decent for the price (I couldn't finish my home fries and the pancakes). The reviews are mostly about their bennies (and I love bennies) so of course I got that. Also tried the Big Breakfast which includes bacon, sausage, ham, three eggs, home fries, pancake, and toast (big breakfast indeed). 1) Peameal Egg Benedict The poached eggs were cooked in a mould so it had that perfect round shape. I asked for medium poached and it came just as I ordered it (which was great). The hollandaise was surprisingly not that bad and I did enjoy it. The home fries were regular but home fries are always good. 2) Big Breakfast It's standard; the bacon and fries were great, the others, not so much. The eggs were cooked over easy. The pancake was okay, just regular pancake (not that fluffy though). Overall, I think the food at the diner was good and cheap. Service was okay, the food took a bit to come but I get it, they were quite busy (it's pretty small and I think there was only one server). I would want to try their sandwiches next time (I think I saw roast beef was a popular dish too).

Great experience for a local breakfast diner. The staff is friendly and the menu vast. The food comes in big portion and reminds you of home comfort breakfast food. It's no frills and hits the spot when you're looking for some breakfast eggs.

Really glad this place is still here after the pandemic. Came on a Friday afternoon and 1/4 of seats had people, makes sense. We always order the eggs Benedict with peameal bacon, their sauce is so good and homemade potatoes made so well. Definitely recommend this place and we try to have brunch/lunch whenever we're in the area. I remember when it's busy, wait time could be 20+ minutes, even still we wait it out because it's just that good! Servers are nice and friendly - and when busy, we understand how it can be stressful.

If you are looking for a simple and clean breakfast, Three Coins is great! The food is tasty and basic. It's watching the two cooks behind the counter that keeps us coming back. Their work space is amazingly small, yet they cook and plate the dishes as if it was a symphony being performed. Everything is timed perfectly with little communication. It's well worth the show but be prepared to sit at the front counter to watch and to possibly have a line up behind you. The restaurant is a favorite amongst locals.

Classic diner in Richmond Hill. Has all the nastalgia that comes with the type of restaurant. Food is made fresh and to order and excellent pricing to go along with it. Not open for dinner so make the time to enjoy this gem

The sauce with egg benedict was really good I chose peameal but it would be better with other choices it was really heavy with fries. Still the home fries was really good as well! It was too busy for two waitresses but they were kind too.

My partner and I came here for breakfast; ordered 3 eggs over easy with tomato and rye toast, 1 pancake plus 3 scrambled eggs, bacon and gravy on the home fries. We can't say enough about how fantastic our breakfast was. Perfectly cooked and flavourful. And service at 3 Coins Open Kitchen is nothing short of exceptional. We will drive from Stouffville for breakfast moving forward.

Typical neighborhood (greasy) diner with good home cooking. I sat at the counter, waiting to pickup friend from Mckenzie Hospital. Service was fast, food good old-fashioned diner breakfast. One can tell the local community supports this place, so the other dishes are probably good too. I would return if I'm back in the neighborhood!

The food and experience was excellent. The wait staff was friendly and personable. The food was prepared as ordered and very tasty. The 2 girls (wait staff) introduced themselves as they heard us speaking Spanish, that was nice. I was visiting from Kingston with my daughter. Will definitely be back. Great job!!

Since we moved to Richmond Hill, we've been coming to this lovely place! All staff are kind and accommodating, they don't leave you hanging with their menu. They'd come to your table to make sure everything is okay. Also, this is our go-to breakfast restau around the area. Really like it here! Highly recommended~ 🤭

Such a cute 50s style diner. My husband goes more frequently this was my first time. Food portion was good just enough. Little jukebox at each table so nice to see. Was busy when we went at 730am. But again still seats available. Nice couple who owns the place.

Was looking for a diner type lunch place and found this gem. Individual juke boxes for each table, Elvis Presley memorabilia, old movie posters, huge food portions and nice customer service staff. As mentioned in other reviews, the hollandaise sauce on the eggs Benedict was citrusy and flavorful. The fried onions on the Hamburger steak were plentiful and added another flavor dimension to their Hamburger steak. A little greasy but isn't that the proper way of having this dish. One negative is they don't have their own parking but plenty of street parking is available. Can't wait to come back again for their roast beef plate

Some of the best bacon and eggs, not to mention their eggs with Hollandaise sauce. Just a great place for brunch.

  • 4/5 Tanja G. 3 years ago on Google
Only rating 4 stars and not 5 because the service took forever. When we entered the restaurant it took 7m to finally be acknowledged and then took a while to order our food. Other than that, the food is well priced and delicious! Your typical hole in the wall diner feel, this place is right on the main strip and has been around for YEARS! Awesome food, awesome staff.

Little greasy spoon right on Yonge. We found street parking right in front but not sure what other parking options are around. Service was a bit slow but the food was good, especially the eggs Benedict. BLT was also solid, the omelet was nothing to write home about.

This is one of my favourite brunch places. It’s no nonsense. Simple ingredients cooked to perfection. I really like the balance of their Hollandaise sauce for smoked salmon egg Benedict. The 3 meat lover is amazing, crispy bacon, ham and sausages. Even comes with a pancake. I always add extra $0.75 for the blueberry pancakes. It’s worth! They are so fluffy topped with butter and maple syrup. I definitely recommend!
