I'm utterly disgusted by my recent experience. When I ordered a milk tea for takeaway, I discovered a cockroach at the bottom of the bottle. It's beyond unacceptable and has completely put me off from ever going back. Finding a cockroach in my drink is downright revolting and shows a lack of hygiene standards. It's a huge red flag for the restaurant's cleanliness and raises serious concerns about the safety of their food. I strongly advise caution to anyone considering dining here. My experience has left me with no desire to return, and I urge the management to take immediate action to address these hygiene issues.

I was told this is one of the places you get HK milk tea at. They sell it by the jug (different sizes are available) so you can enjoy it at home. I wanted to try the food, but that will be another time. I don't believe they accept credit card here just as a heads up.

Small, fast paced, canteen style cafe. Great flavours, good portions and excellent hk milk tea!!! You can also buy 1-2L versions of the hk milk tea for home!!!

Their Friday special is da bomb! Deep Fried chicken leg with pasta/rice and several choices of sauce. On the flip side, their other dishes on the menu were just decent. What this place stood out for me are their milk teas! Arguably the best in town! I'm a huge fan of milk tea... and thus far, no other HK cafés could replicate the delicious milk tea Marathon brings.

Still the place for HK milk tea! Food was a mixed bag. Pineapple bun with butter is a hidden gem. So much better than most new bakeries that have opened recently. Bowl of noodles were a turn off. Bowl smelled like a used towel with mildew. Noodles had no flavor. Needed to be cook in salt water at least

Currently take out only. Fast service. Good milk tea. Tried the curry chicken on rice. Good ratio of sauce, toppings and rice. But it's a bit spicy for me.

Pretty good food. On the pricier side of HK style cafe but the quality seems slightly better. Overall I think there are better options elsewhere but this is still worth going to. One thing that made me remove a point is I’m not sure how sanitary is the store. I’ve seen some sus activities.

The first time I just came here was for the HK milk tea/ coffee and pineapple buns porkchop sandwich. Which was on point. So we wanted to try their other foods, the next time we came to markham. (We are from Ottawa) We finally have a sit-in experience. We tried the curry fried noodle, and it has wok hay but needs more flavor. Now on to the oxtail, not to sure what the flavor profile they wanted or if it was spoiled, it tasted sour to my liking, we didn't end up finishing our meal and left. Also, the oxtail wasn't worth the 20 dollars with tax.

Small place, quick service, great food. Gives a very divey nostalgic hong kong feel. They have great hk milk tea and i always order their baked spaghetti with cheese. Amazing and filling portions. They also offer takeout and delivery!

FOOD POISONING! BEWARE! My boyfriend and I visited the Richmond Hill location yesterday around 12:00pm. We did not eat anything prior to arriving, but an hour after eating food at this establishment – he immediately felt sick. He has been throwing up and having to use the bathroom every 20 minutes for the past 24 hours. He ordered the Beef Satay noodles, and we suspect that either the lettuce or beef has been exposed to bacteria. This is extremely disappointing and we have spent so much time and money trying to remedy this situation. We work 9-5 jobs, and feeling sick from the negligence of the food staff and kitchen is extremely unacceptable. He has not gotten any sleep for the entire work day, and cannot eat anything without throwing up. This is extremely disappointing, as Marathon Cafe was a staple in the community years ago. Please be careful!

I probably ate in the restaurant only 10 mins and just left, the hop fun in the soup tasted totally wrong( sour, like not fresh) the soup tasted bland, and the tea, it was okay, but they are famous for the tea, (they own good rewards and you can see those pics on their wall) so it should be really really good, but I think it need to be add more cream. Do not waste your money here if you wanna good quality food.

Instagram @chopstixinthesix Follow Us!! We love their HK Milktea, its so rich and flavourful. Their Toasted Bun w/ Condensed Milk and buttle is such a perfect snack/dessert to go with HK Milk Tea👏🏻 They did resemble the taste of Hong Kong quite accurately, but we found it a bit pricey…

Solid hk style spot where you order at the counter. Came at 9 am on a Friday and it wasn’t packed but still busy, a good amount of seats. Food was tasty and their milk teas live up the their reputation

Good experience with the marathon crew at the East-Asin Toronto police charity. The tea was fantastic, temperature was properly chilled, flavors were what u expect with HK traditional tea. Bare in mind my expectations are quite high, give it a 5 star and a plus 1 for supporting local communities with their presence. Would absolutely love to go to their richmondhill location to try over things with the family. 👏 Jang.

Came here for brunch and ordered one of their sandwich combos (pineapple bun with egg and ham + small HK milk tea). Portions are decent and got exactly what I imagined. It gets busy so be prepared to wait in line. They have quite an extensive menu. Definitely order their milk tea.

Their pork chop tomato sauce baked rice is a 4 out of 5 but their curry beef brisket with rice is a 2 out of 5 as the beef that was used was very tough and the curry sauce was a bit watery. The flavour profile was just off. Even though the picture makes it look like the sauce was burned, it didn't taste burned. It was actually quite tasty including the rice. Friendly staff. Tables are a bit crowded if you choose to sit and eat here.

Came here the second time and a bit dissatisfied. The price went up. A bake tomato chicken rice and a medium cold mil tea came up to $20 cash. After waiting for 40 mins, ended up finding out that they forgot to make my order. I ended up with a sad baked rice that was obviously not cooked correctly because the rice was cold and the top was not charred. Overall, this is an okay place. But will prefer other hk cafe because of the expensive price.

I think this place is a hidden gem. The food and service is great. lots of selection and their food is actually pretty decent. Would recommend going and trying out their milk tea which is what they are famous for. Location wise: I would suggest going to this location in Richmond Hill and not the one at midland and finch. Last couple of times that we went, the service wasn't ideal and food was soso

Decided to try out the place and found this place is a gem. Busier than I expected on a Sunday mid morning with a steady stream of pick up orders. There was a wide selection on the menu and a lot of Asian orientated choices. The staff were friendly and looked really busy in the back. There was a minor mistake on my order for a black 'hot' coffee but that was corrected immediately. I went for the pork chop in a bun. Hey I'd never had that before and it was great. The bun was toasted, there were two pork chops along with some mayo, tomato and lettuce served hot so freshly cooked. A good snack. I was searching for the sirloin steak in the bun but I didn't see it on the menu. THEN I saw one of the takeout orders was the sirloin steak so I'll ask next time. I will certainly be visiting again. The prices were pretty reasonable.

Food is OK but reliable HK-style drinks (I would have given 3 stars but the drinks are what give it the 4th star). Prices have increased but we’re out here living in a recession so it’s not really their fault. Happy that they’re open on most holidays though. They were PACKED on Christmas Day…but open nonetheless.

Greatest thing I have put in my mouth all year. The savoury noodles combined with the buttery egg sandwich and the refreshingly sweet lemon tea was the ultimate comfort meal for a decent price.

got this from uber. why 奶油豬包is like this? definitely not remembering it’s this kind of bun. milk tea is yummy as usual. omelette and sausage is average.

Haven’t had their milk tea in awhile and really missed it with that first sip. Don’t normally dine here. More just for the milk tea. Had a nice bold flavour melding with the milky and silky texture. Really nicely done as always. Follow me on IG @thirst_and_taste for more amazing pics and content!

Best milk tea in Canada, the food and service is great too. One of my favorite hk cafes in the GTA

I've been to Marathon Cafe many times at their Scarborough location. I see that they have expanded their menu to include additional food items, cool beans. This morning, I decided to grab a few milk teas for my office. I know that prices have gone up, and that's okay, inflation is here, we get it. It was still warm when I brought the drinks to our office and here we are, all sipping the milk tea. After about half an hour, I felt a surge of energy. I'm not a coffee drinker because I can't take too much caffeine. All of us kind of stared at each other, these drinks are no joke, it's PACKED with caffeine. I'm giving this 4 stars because these drinks are not watered down, it was so strong, all of us were high strung for hours LOL. Though you might call us weak sauce, I'd say this is milk tea on caffeine steroids. Anyhow, if you are weary, just order a size small for a try.

This place was recommended to me from a local friend for the award winning milk tea and milk tea/coffee. Great tea taste in both and very silky. The satay beef instant noodle combo is great value at ~$12. If you get cold milk tea, get less sweet. Best bite was the milk tea, and the worst was the hk style French toast (weirdly there was no peanut butter in the centre). Overall it’s a solid hk breakfast spot!

I've been coming here since it opened. I made the trek to their original Scarborough location prior to this one opening. Figured I would review this place since I would love for it to stay open forever. As an aside, I am rating this place 5 stars PURELY for the milk tea. Their food is serviceable, nothing special. I've tried a lot of HK style milk teas. This one is far and away, the best one I have had. If you manage to catch the owner working, the combo split of tea/evaporated milk/sugar will be perfect. Other workers are sometimes a bit inconsistent with either sugar or the milk, so I adjust as necessary depending on whom I see making it. Now, opinions on HK Style Milk Tea are obviously subjective, so I will say their tea is STRONG. But that is exactly how I like it, and that might not be everyone's preference. If your preference is a weaker tea, look elsewhere. For me, I honestly can't get enough of it.

I came here for a quick meal. It’s an odd way of ordering, you order at the cashier and pay, then wait for your meal at the table. It’s located in a plaza, tucked away from view. Food was ok. Only issue I had was the cleanliness of the place, it doesn’t seem to be cleaned regularly and the utensils had stains on it, maybe from bleach? Milk tea wasn’t flavourful, it was watered down, maybe tea leaves were reused from a previous order? Staff were friendly though.

I was there ordering their famous Hong Kong style milk tea. No other customer was there. No greeting, no welcoming. I guess the staff there were having lunch. After going through the menu that's placed on and in front of the cash register, knowing that nothing else I needed, I asked for help. It's so so the service. They have license to sell lottery, that's something new to me. Customer service wasn't a key factor there, I guess.

Food taste great and cool concept to order at the front. The annoying thing was the waiter bringing out out food and yelling our number. I suggest before we sit down, the casher can let us know which table to sit at and not need to getting yelled towards by the server. Kome shuduku has the similar system but better.
