My daughter just had a dance competition at this venue and I am absolutely disgusted and appalled at how these children were treated by the staff at Richmond Hill Preforming Arts. The province of Ontario has entered stage 3 of re-opening, and they have decided to make their own rules and run this facility as if we were still in lockdown. Not allowing young children to use the bathroom and telling them to "cross your legs and hold it." A venue which holds 600 people and not allowing more then 48 people in at a time. As an adult, we can manage, but these young children (some as young as 6 years old) need a parent. The rudeness was something I have never encountered. Paying the amount of money we paid to use this awful facility and then having my child treated as an animal is completely unacceptable. This will definitely be reported to the city as well as the better business bureau. I would like to see if they would stand by as others treated their children like that. I am beyond disgusted.

It is a very lovely place that offers all kinds of performing arts for all tastes. The last things I watched was The Nutcracker ballet this December.

Seen Jeremy Hotz here Wednesday. This guy is absolutely hilarious! Known him for years. Always a pleasure seeing Jeremy and his pup Shackleton. Sue Thompson was his opener and was also very funny. The performing arts centre is spacious and clean, staff are very friendly, the sound is great, seats are comfortable and you have plenty of leg room. Overall a great local theatre.

Great venue to see stand-up comedy. Auditorium is not too big, so practically every seat in the house gives you a decent view of the show. Good sound as well.

The Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts holds a very special place in my heart and it's been such an important part of so many memories! Theatre camp, band performances, concerts, award ceremonies, dance recitals / performances... The staff is always professional, kind, and ready to help out and the space is very clean, prim, and proper at all times. Thank you RHCPA!

Pretty decent place to carry out scenic productions. Acoustics are awesome, all the equipment and infrastructure is quite new and looks nice. It is a great spot to enjoy amy theatre performance or similar. A big variety of events can be hosted in here.

It was amazing. I haven't seen a bad performance there yet. The last time I went there was a few years and I saw a talented singer named Tyler Shaw

Venue is ok. Sound and lighting were adequate for the type of venue it is. Trivial point, but nobody knew if the guest wifi is actually available for guests lol. I found the west exit to be extremely congested and could pose a huge risk should you need a quick exit due to fire. There was no crowd control and the whole venue was exiting through that one exit at the same time.

It was my first time in the Richmond Hill Centre for the performing arts theatre and it was great. The concert was great! Good seats and good sound too! I will be going again. I hope other people will have the enjoyment I had last night at the theater. Thank you 😊

I cannot comment on the quality of the performance since it never actually took place. This review is more about the organization of the company itself. Our school had signed up for a French performance for our 4 classes of French Immersion students which was later changed AFTER payment from parents to a somewhat bilingual performance. We decided since there would still be French and things had already been paid for that we would make the most out of it. Fast-forward to the day of the performance, we were notified via email 2.5 hours before our departure that the entire performance had been canceled due to a performer falling ill. I understand "these things happen", but after all this I seriously consider other large organizations (i.e. schools/daycares/summer camps) to reconsider booking with this company.

Good acoustics in the theater and spacious seating for the audience. Ample washroom and parking spaces as well. This is a good local theater instead of having to always go downtown. Granted it is a smaller theater, but not by much that the audience actually notices a significant difference.

Staff was pleasant, but they need to review the order of the alphabet. We were directed the wrong way to our seats, which were next to the sound guys

Awesome show! Great atmosphere! Just a little unorganized when it came to getting into the theatre itself but such a great space!

I was there for Max Amini show, it was my first time at Richmond Hill Centre for performing art. Place looks ok, nothing special, l was expecting to see some kind of visual art or some sort of art as decoration in a place that carries a name of "Centre for performing Art". It was one painting on a wall and loose wires hanging from ceilings. The only issue was we had a wait for almost 20 minutes to get in because the staff did not have ticket scanner to check the ticket and they had to take everyone to their seat which was very time consuming. I enjoyed the show though.

I love the outline of the structure, easy to follow the signs and public health is well maintained. The free parking makes it my first choice to watch shows. But for a popular show, an optional parking might be needed.

I was placed here some time ago by my college campus to learn and gain experience, I sat around doing nothing for the most part and resorted to cleaning up the place after realizing such a mess it was. When I made mistakes, and I did make some big ones, they kicked me out with one of the excuses being "something with a glove." Do not recomend anyone to volunteer or to participate in anything at this location.

IF YOURE CONCERNED ABOUT COVID STAY AWAY FROM HERE Went to see a third rate show last Sunday but that’s another story My surprise was the lack of social distancing The venue was 2/3 empty and we were huddled in the first few rows. No effort made to separate the viewers. Just ushers interrupting to make sure everyone had their masks on properly What happened to the rules ? The social distancing? The protocols ? I was pressured into going against my better judgement and sorry to say that I expected better from a municipal venue hypocritical behaviour on every one concerned

The RHCPA is a wonderful space for orchestra performance. The technical staff and management team are friendly and competent. I've attended various functions concerts, conferences, workshops, business network sessions and the like. There is a mezzanine level that overlooks the lobby, which provides performance space where music is heard, but musicians are away from traffic and attendees.

Intimate setting where every seat is a good seat. I purchased seats M7 & M8 but when we arrived, those seats were non existent. Helpful staff got us other seats which were one row nearer the stage. Sound was great. Social distance seating in effect. Bar was well staffed. Clean washrooms. Have your vaccine passport and ID ready upon entering. You can complete the covid screening online before going. We didn't so had to self screen at the door.

Poorly ruined facility. Refused me entry because I didn't have a ticket for my one year infant. Can you believe that! Why would I pay for a ticket for my baby when she is not occupying a seat and sitting in my lap. They made me miss my daughter's first-ever dance recital. Shame on you! Money hungry small theatre- will not return to this facility under any circumstances and will be sure to tell everyone I know about this incident!

Pleasant ambience, good sound quality and comfortable seats. The hall is not huge, so wherever you sit, you have a decent view of the scene.

Small theatre, with a small concession area that may or may not be open (it wasn't when I was there.. not sure if this was due to covid restrictions or they didn't choose to open it). Ok amount of parking behind the theatre. Seats are comfortable, and the stage is a good size. A functional theater, but nothing special.

The beer festival held in august 2022 was great. Big Rig brewery stood out to me as always and if you dont know me ill tell you i have a soft spot for these newcomers. The centre had nice facilities is spacious clean and perfectly suited for musical performance, art display, political meetings and all kinds of events. A proven establishment that had gained my respect. Thankyou.

Nice sized venue for small shows. Ample parking out back and a nice area for food out on the side. Had an overall good time here for the first time.
