I was always impressed with this location, NOT ANYMORE, they just joined the club of Greedy Thrift Stores, nearby Value Village's been there and now they're both equally not worth shopping or donating. God forbid you find anything sealed there either priced at retails or even more. Come on Salvation Army why would I bother shop there if you ask $10 for dvd set that sells $7.99 on amazon or used old navy shirt for $15, $6.99 for dollarama puzzles. You're shooting yourself in the foot and man you're really good at it.

By far my FAVOURITE Thrift store to come all the way from Markham. Staff are always pleasant, greeting me at the door or counter. Very good at resolving or explaining the issues. Very evident they work well together which translate in the good vibes. Prices are reasonable. Miss the AUCTIONs. Manager was quite entertaining, good demeanor.

Not as good as it used to be. Prices have certainly increased. Looked at a purse with no pricing. Asked one of the workers for price. She took it and said she would find out - never came back. Girl in the cash was very good

Was surprised to learn that a lot of people convicted of crimes preform their court ordered community service at this location. I was equally shocked to find out that any clothing you donate to the location gets a shake and a hanger and goes straight to the rack for sale. This is what I was told by a source whom I really don't have any reason to doubt. I would love to hear otherwise if this isn't the case . Don't shoot the messenger comes to mind I guess.

Favorite thrift store in the area by far! They have decent selection of vinyl if you are into it!

I’m sad that I’m going to change my 5star review to one! My recent visit to the store left much to be desired. Unfortunately, the debit machine was out of order, and they only accepted cash, a detail mentioned inconspicuously near the cash register, far from the entrance. Despite my time spent in the store, I was only informed of this at checkout. The cashier, Kavi, and the manager, Lee, displayed an unhelpful and unapologetic attitude. Lee, in particular, was both unprofessional and unresponsive, lacking any willingness to understand or apologize. To add to the disappointment, during the exchange, cashier Kavi handled my items poorly, throwing them towards me. Given our support through donations and purchases, this experience falls short of the service expected. It's disheartening that this location fails to live up to the support it receives.

I was there today and surprised to see the prices to be higher than the other SA locations. The staff were friendly but we were there to find affordable prices but thought could have gone to a mall to pay a little more to get brand new.

I have found some great clothes here compared to other thrift stores in the area but this chain needs to get either change rooms back in operation or longer return periods for items than 10 business days! That’s too short of a policy. I have work and things that prevent me from being able to come back so frequently.

It's a very clean and organized store. I cannot find to many items I liked due to selection. I'm in between sizes so I must try everything on first. Just one problem, please don't display ripped or stained clothes. Sometimes I don't recognize anything wrong inside the store but by the time I get them home, I usually discover small holes, missing buttons etc. If you really look, you'll find. I find that churches, private and small ones practically give their brand name clothes like Muchael Khors, Champion practically given away for free. Better value for your money and way better than this salvation army store. Try it sometime, you won't be disappointed, at the same time you can pick up big bags of fresh bread from the local bakeries and lot's of canned food and pasta. Kill two birds with one stone!

Organized considering the large amount of items they have, and pleasant staff...plus I love to support the Army and all of the good work they do.

I love how they colour code everything from clothes to giftware and make it neat and tidy! Prices are more reasonable here too. Will definitely return.

If you're exchanging something make sure they actually do it. They took the item I wanted to exchange and the receipt and did not apply it to my new transaction.

Do you want junk? Go here. I admire what they are trying to do as a charity but for whatever reason, pretty much anything you'd want to buy second hand that's quality ends up at the competition's store. There's only the most basic, worn out, and genetic stuff to be had here. It's a pity because the other place is for profit. If you like treasure hunting while you're out to thrifting, look elsewhere.

Really felt bad on what happened today.. cashier took out the price tag from a product at the time of billing saying the price listed is less for the item.. if it is less then why did you guys put it in first place? Not a good behaviour.. was always happy with this store but last 2 experiences have not been good recently 😞

Easy to drop donations at the back of the store. Convenient parking. Clean and well organized to receive donations. Also they give 20% off voucher if you decide to shop in the shop.

Not the largest place but definitely a few things to see here and you can easily find some diamonds in the dust. Some surprisingly nice (and affordable) china here when I visited.

I have visited this particular store a year ago I thought it was quite good if best to check now and then twice a month or every 3 months just to see what they have and I'm looking for good electronics and records maybe the odd shirt pants but the prices I know are much better than the shopping malls..

overpriced. I went in and saw a PSP with some games ( no charger no cables doesnt turn on ) there asking 100$. I asked the manager if we can do something better showing him that even on ebay they sale for 60-70$ TESTED and working. He said we will sell it for that price. Basically disregarding me and saying were going to sell it for price thats higher than the market and the fact it;s not even tested so you have no idea if it works. Sucks when management basically doesn't want to do anything or listen within reason and wants to overcharge on DONATED electronics. I enjoy collecting electronics and many other locations will price it within reason. won't be coming here again.

The Salvation Army in Richmond Hill has several staff that refuse to help wrap breakables for customers. Other locations are much more accommodating. Never have that problem at any of the other locations. Are the staff members or the management responsible?

I’ve donated and shopped here several times. The staff are always welcoming and friendly, the racks are mostly organized, and I’m always able to find something! Pricing is a bit on the higher end but still fair.

Always a great experience at this location. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to accommodate. Great selection and fair prices (most of the time).

Drop off donations is convenient, with safe COVID protocol. Just make sure the weather is good when you go.

  • 4/5 Radios 4 R. 2 years ago on Google
The employees are all fantastic. If for whatever reason there's no price on something they'll give you a fair price at the till, unlike other thrift stores that need a manager to do that (and if no manager is available you're SOL). Regular prices are good, albeit sometimes inconsistent-still good though, and there's no tax and it goes to a good charity. I wish their selection of electronics was larger though.

Great selection! It’s much better than the Value Village nearby if you’re hunting for nice vintage pieces. I found a vintage danier jacket here

Was passing by. Thought to go in quick and look. Found a nice camping blanket. It was brand new with tags on. I would still buy if it was used for 3.99$. Good prices and I feel good to drop by sometimes. I wanted to look inside the glass and check couple of copper pods. The lady showed up quick, opened it and let me see the pods. Did her best to sell me the pods and I liked about her. She was not just working there she was trying her best to help sell the items also with good customer service. I would keep her there as long as she would want to work there is I was the owner. I felt good after all. Thank you

Did my volunteer hours for hs here a few years ago and it was one of the worst experiences I ever had. Some of the staff were nice, but one particular manager was horrible. Constantly threatened to not authorize the hours I already did because I was listening to music while doing the work they told me to do, lmfao ridiculous. Treating literal children (under 18) badly as if we aren’t doing their dirty work for free. If you’re a high school student don’t volunteer here, go anywhere else.

The competition's store has more variety and volumes of items but you can find diamond in the rough. For example, one can find a Texas Instruments calculator here and the corresponding manual at the competition's store. Voilà, you have a functional combo of calculators. Consequently, it makes sense to know what you are looking for in general before heading to this and the competition's store. For example, if you are looking for textbooks or course books or exam and test prep books, you may want to try the competition's store first because you may find your item there. However, dictionaries of languages to English can be in both stores.
