Parque
Natural
Municipal
da
Cidade
is
a
positive
surprise.
It
offers
much
more
natural
diversity
than,
for
instance,
Parque
Lage
(beware,
someone
posted
a
number
of
photos
taken
at
Parque
Lage
here,
there
is
no
palace
at
Parque
Natural
Municipal
da
Cidade
and,
unlike
Parque
Lage,
this
nature
park
is
far
less
crowded
than
Parque
Lage.
Unfortunately
there
seems
to
be
no
option
to
report
misplaced
photos)
Parque
Natural
Municipal
da
Cidade
is
free
to
enter
and
comparatively
remote,
no
busses
or
subway
run
by
it.
Just
before
the
entrance
there
is
a
stretch
of
"Communidade"
the
new
name
for
Favela,
but
there
is
car
parking
inside
the
Parque,
also
free,
and
there
are
endless
paths
of
all
sorts
meandering
through
it,
we
have
not
been
able
to
discover
it
all
in
one
morning.
The
Museum
shows
old
photos
and
artwork
of
Rio
as
it
once
was.
Most
trails
are
paved,
but
there
are
many
more
that
are
-
well,
natural,
and
it
is
recommended
to
wear
shoes
with
a
good
profile
for
long
hikes.
As
the
name
suggests,
more
of
the
local
climates
flora
and
fauna
can
be
found
in
tranquility
here
than
in
any
other
park
we
have
been
to
within
Rio
de
Janeiro
so
far.
