First what we didn't like:, I want to start by saying we are all American couple with no kids, other people may have a different experience. But, for us, it was too loud, too crowded, too chaotic. Loud pulsing music in the dining room, crowded pools with children throwing things are just not what I'm looking for. The 3PM check in is a hard rule, which is fine but the only place to store luggage is in an open room with no door that had a fairly constant stream of people in and out. Dinner doesn't start until 7 which is pretty late if you've been diving since day break. Now the good:. The rooms were very clean and spacious, the food -when we finally got it-was good and the staff were very very friendly and helpful. As with most of Roatan, there were and guards everywhere, which is unfortunate, but it does feel very safe as a result. So, I'll never go back but if you want a nice resort save don't mind the noise and crowded chaos, it may be a good option for you.

Stayed at this resort for a 6 day, destination wedding. The setup for this type of event could not have been any easier/better. For the price, you can't beat it. The only negative is some of the rooms are a bit dated and have various issues. Our toilet would kick on and off all night and its the first time the shower and sink water was salted and not drinkable. For an all inclusive the food was just fine and the entire staff was super friendly.

This place was okay for the price, the The food was subpar at best. The people working on the floor were great, the bartenders were bad and their drinks were extremely inconsistent. Except for the one guy. he was a good bartender!! The rest had a long face and it seemed like they hated their jobs. We also experienced a 6 hour power outage and their generator was "conveniently" broken. The power went out like 3 times in one day.

We love the Mayan PrincessDive Resort! The entire staff, especially Damara, are the best. We feel like family when we come every year. The dive staff always outdo themselves. Can't wait for next September!

Your dive staff alone is worth coming back for. Truly world class people. I feel like every year we are welcomed back like family by the dive staff. The resort itself is short on staff. Hopefully they are able to replace the staff they lost over covid with more great people. We missed the waiting staff poolside (that was a great feature before) and the bar service has definitely slowed since last year. The resort overall maintains a high standard of appearance and function. We are definitely coming back for year 6 in a row!

What a tropical paradise! If you dive or snorkel this is the place you need. Luxury and relaxation after a day in the water. The food was fresh and delicious. Varied menu. Great bar service. All inclusive. We attended a wedding. The Mayan Princess did a phenomenal wedding.

We stayed for five days and it was awesome. Breakfast buffet was nice. Although the snack bar didn't have that much variety. The apartment like rooms had lots of space and we're beautifully decorated. Definitely would go back.

My family and I stayed at the Mayan Princess Beach and Dive Resort for Thanksgiving, I was not impressed. For what we paid, we could have stayed in a better place elsewhere nearby. The staff was very attentive and helpful, the food and accommodations lackluster. The buffet food was bland. Making reservations to the “a la carte” restaurants was complicated, every time we tried, we were told that there was some sort of “special event”, we persisted and were able to make reservations. One night my son ordered a hamburger from the menu, five minutes later the waiter returned to let us know they had no hamburgers and that he need to order something else. Who doesn’t have hamburgers? At the end of the meal we asked for the desert menu; there was no desert menu, we just got up and walked to the buffet to finish our meal. If you like ice cream you are out of luck, there was no ice cream. If you like deaf coffee, expect “instant” decaffeinated coffee. If you like tea, there is only black and green tea; no regular decaffeinated tea, no herbal tea of any kind. The beach in front of the hotel is beautiful. Relaxing on the beach is close to impossible; as soon as you get close you will be approached by somebody trying to sell you t-shirts, excursions, massages or braid your hair. Some highlights from our beach front room. It took three trips to the front desk and back to the room until they were able to sort out the keyless access to the room and internet service. The shower door in my bathroom was missing a handle. The shower water pressure was low, the water tasted bad. There was a gallon of spring water in our refrigerator, we used this to brush our teeth and rinse toothbrushes. The mechanical equipment is located right next to the primary bedroom, the air handler fan is blasting on the background none stop. The hotel doesn't even have a gym.

The staff prepared and presented an excellent lunch for our short stay there. They were always anticipating our requests but never intrusive. Wonderful people.

Booked two nights. Huge stormed passed through and has continued to pass through for a few days. We canceled our trip 1 day before because of risking a terrible experience(no swimming for unsafe and dark waters. Flights have been canceled from leaving the island back to San Pedro Sula. We would have had to be in the hotel room for all of our trip) The hotel wasn’t willing to help us at all. We lost our $1000 usd. Thanks for nothing.

This was our second time here. On our first visit, our villa was on the other side of the grounds, and it was much quieter. I'm having some mobility issues, and this villa was on the first floor and near the buffet/bar area, which was much easier for me. So it's a toss up. The good: Great Diving! The villas are spacious and well-furnished. The beds are comfortable. The buffet is pretty good. Awesome coffee, and the beach bar is fabulous. Most of the staff is super friendly and helpful. The meh: No WiFi by the pool (not a deal breaker, just occasionally inconvenient). It was occasionally challenging to get housekeeping to come to the villa. The bad: The resort got incredibly noisy on Wednesday, to the point where the only way I could relax was to go back to the room, put earbuds in, and listen to videos of waves to drown everything else out. The water in the rooms is salty, I believe their well water got contaminated. They gave us 2 jugs of water a day, so I was rinsing my hair with that to get it clean, which did work. The terrible: The hot water heater in our villa died. It took multiple attempts over 4 days to get it fixed, during which time we had little to no hot water. Luckily, it's not like it was cold out, but one does get used to having access to hot water. We had a very bad experience at the fancy dining room. They lost our reservation, didn't want to seat us, and then acted like we were an inconvenience the entire meal. The server forgot (?) to put in enough dessert orders and told us we would have to figure out who wasn't getting a dessert. Our second to last night, it sounded like someone was doing construction out in back of our room around 2am. The upstairs guests heard it as well, so I know I didn't imagine it. I peeked through the curtains and all I could see was a florescent light on the other side of some plywood.

I had an issue with the hot water in the shower....I let the front desk know late last night and first thing this morning they had an engineer l at my room...he took care of everything in less than a min. A few hours later the manager came by the room to make sure everything was ok and even offered to move me to a new room. They went above and beyond, the customer service is amazing. Thank you, Mayan Princess for going above and beyond

Really nice resort with an excellent dive operation. About the only downside is the food operations are strangely hostile to vegetarians. They don't have anything on the restaurant menus that doesn't have meat in it. They will offer to fix you something if you ask, but there won't be any choice and what they bring will be sorely lacking in protein.

Place is great, the beach is awesome there, staff really great! ... The food was less than average at any hotel...

Our stay was excellent. The staff are amazing, so friendly and always willing to do anything to make your day better. They take time to chat with you and their smiles are genuine. The food here was so tasty. The cooks should be proud of their work last week. The roast pork and live station burritos were my favorites of the week. The beach was groomed every morning but there wasn't too much seaweed or anything else, and the sand is pristine. You don't even need water shoes here. I lost my phone in an excursion van one day and the beach vendors and security guys teamed up to help me find it!! Can you say awesome?? Our room was in Las Sirenas. The shower handle fell off once, that was the only thing that happened all week that I can think of, that was less than ideal. It simply stuck back on, no problem. We really loved the Mayan Princess and all of the staff especially Cindy and Nelson. The gentleman serving at Calketts bar was also amazing. BRAVO. We will be back!!! PS. The snorkeling offshore was fun too, straight out from Infinity Bay. Shout outs to Richard and Russell for helping me find my phone, Hector, and Danny on the beach.

Beautiful place, great pool area, bartenders are nice, the restaurant Calkett's has a very nice menu, delicious food, the other one located by Sirenas is a beautiful restaurant but menú is very small and the food it’s not that great … sent an email weeks before the trip to book a couple massage at their spa but they did not have any availability for the month of January … overall a nice experience but you can find better places cheaper

Rooms are nice but they have a poor customer service specially staff from the kitchen. They don't have that many options on their menu and what they served were tasteless. We experienced power outage for around three hours and they even have generator, I called more than three times front desk to know what was going on and they never answered the phone. They don't have a private beach so be ready to see crowds, trash and a don't even thinj about to enjoy a nice view of the beach because is full tourist boats.

Divemaster Mark, Captain Andy, Divemaster Shaun, and all the rest of the staff at the resort did a fantastic job! The rooms were great, the diving spectacular, the food was good, and the service was outstanding! Thank you so much for making our trip easy and fun. We will be back, and that I hope is the highest compliment.

This is my personal favorite resort, stop in and say hi to Mark and his crew at the Mayan Divers, the staff is world class and Antonio rocks it too. The pool is awesome and open late and calketts is a great bar. Halloween was a great time to go!!!

I stayed her for 5 nights! And I love this place. Simple but very comfortable. Rooms are clean, pillows super comfortable and bed was great too. Food was delicious. It’s a small buffet compared to other resorts I’ve been to- but it has everything you need. The resort has access to beach and includes lounge chairs, beach towels and umbrellas are already setup. Drinks were delish too! I loved it here!! I will definitely be coming back!

Good things: •Makeila and Patricia at front desk are very welcoming and try to make sure everything is well explained. •Loved the themed dinners. Had Honduran, Asian and Mexican and were all great. •Food was much better than last december when I came last time. •Emerito is an AWESOME waiter. Very committed to give the best service possible. •Pool was perfectly clean. •Beach super clean as always and the gentleman in charge (sept 12-sept 14) is just amazing as well. •Loved they give away tumblers for you to refill your drinks and stop littering. •Amazing night entertainment. Loved the fire dancers. •Lady at the omelet station was GREAT. (Sept 13-15) Chance to improve: •Terrible beds, awful pillows and terrible bed settings they need to improve these as soon as possible. I stayed at Las Sirenas past december and rooms are sooooo much better. •No good lite choices in beer, just one and it is horrible. •The servers at the buffet are mostly rude and unpleasant.

I completely recommend Mayan Princess Beach & Dive Resort to anyone travel for both sport (diving, snorkeling, etc.) & leisure. Not only is the resort and villas beautiful, every single individual that works there is amazing. We were always greated with a smile and a hello or good evening. The food & service was fantastic, and they are quick to learn each guests favorite beverage or coffee. We had some bumps in travel at the beginning of our trip (thanks to American Airlines), and the resort did everything in their power to make up for lost time. They scheduled a special dinner, baked a special birthday cake for one of our travels, and made everything as smooth as possible. We were scheduled for 15 dives over 5 days. They were able to fit 11 in 3 days. Our boat captain Clyde and Divemaster Eddie were both a blast to spend time with. Eddie is an awesome dive leader and showed us some of the best spots on the island. The entire divecenter staff was courteous and kept our gear clean and secure. We will certainly be booking with Mayan Princess again in the future.

This was our second 10 day visit with our family of friends, mostly divers and snorkelers, and mostly from Virginia. Everything is over the top perfect. The drinks and food are excellent. If you can’t find what you like to drink or eat, you are the problem. The most important part of this resort is the staff. Everyone treats you like a friend. The waiters, food servers, bar tenders, beach towel people, housekeeping, everyone is so genuinely nice and friendly. They will serve you drinks while you’re in the ocean water! That’s crazy! If you’re a diver, the boat crew, comprised of the captain and master diver(s), are awesome. These people are locals and know these waters as well as the turtles and sea rays. The crew I loved were Capt Tex, master divers Abner and Shawn; what special people. Our safety was never in doubt, and their ability to find creatures hiding in the coral is amazing. I highly recommend the sunset cruise at least once during your stay. Also enjoyed the excursion to see the sloths, monkeys and the brewery. If I had to name ONE PERSON who once again helped with making EVERYTHING perfect for us, it would have to be STERLIN COSTLY-a staff member who seems to work 14 hours a day 7 days a week. No matter where you look, he’s there helping you or someone else. He ensures everything is done right. This is a wonderful place to vacation. I hope your experience is as good as ours have been. Vacationed at The Mayan Princess in Roatan with my family of 5 and really enjoyed our stay! Patricia at the reception desk was super friendly and made sure we were all happy. She helped us become familiar with the resort as it was our first time visiting. Johanna at the Macao restaurant was very attentive and made the best drinks! Johanna greeted us by name and even memorized our orders! The resort is located on the clear blue waters of West Bay. We will return and hope to see these two talented ladies again. Please acknowledge these two dedicated team members! 5 STARS!

Nice place to stay and staff is very helpful. Food is decent for all inclusive. Rooms are spacious but watch out if your staying on Eastside of complex. We were in room 206 and could hear the loud music and shows from resort east every night till 11pm. Nothing AirPods noise cancelling couldn’t conquer but was little annoying. The dive shop and staff was awesome. We had Eddie and Andy for 5 days of diving and couldn’t be happier. Great dives and fun to be around. Overall we were happy with stay and would again but definitely be on other side of complex because of noise from other resort.

Overall the Resort is nice however. The attitude of MANY of the staff was mediocre at best with some showing outright apathy. The food in the Snack bar was absolutely horrible. Cold fries and hamburgers that had been sitting out for some time and this happened on several occasions with very unfriendly staff there. The food in the main restaurant buffet was much better but not great. There is another bar/restaurant that requires reservations with a separate food menu and that food was great and friendly staff. There is ABSOLUTELY nothing there for entertainment or nightlife. So if you want to just swim and lay on the beach all day and evening~ great. Just don’t expect anything else for entertainment

  • 5/5 Vanessa C. 1 year ago on Google
My favorite spot in West Bay. You can literally stay at the resort all day and enjoy your vacation. The all-inclusive packages are more expensive but definitely worth it. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food was great 😋 The only thing I would say that could’ve made my stay a bit more enjoyable is a better TV but then again, when you’re at a place like Roatan no one comes to watch TV 😊
