False advertising - this place looks nothing like the photos! Other than the front desk personnel at the Splash Inn being so kind and attentive, there really aren't much other positives to speak of.. We didn't eat at the Splash Inn, although we considered it.. We took one look at the menu and our jaws dropped - it was VERY expensive. As in, NYC prices - which I would know as I'm from there. Absolutely not worth it when there are many better options within a 5 min walk in either direction. We stayed in room #3, and it was very basic. No fridge, no free bottle of water, no safe, no clock or radio, nothing - except a bed and old TV. The door to our room was a sliding glass door that WOULD NOT lock, and told the maintenance man about it. He was lovely and tried his best, but couldn't fix it, and it was frustrating to have to fight with the door every time we went in or out. Finally, the set up is pretty awful. This property is a 10 minute walk from their front desk, from breakfast, and down a dark, gravel road filled with potholes. Just felt so isolated, and not in a good way. Overall, a pretty mediocre hotel, especially for $80. Even US motels that costs $60/night have a fridge and coffee maker. This felt like what should have been way cheaper than it was.

Where to start ? I could write a book about that place. We arrived at night after a really tough boat trip and we've been welcomed by two nice guy who offered us to upgrade our reservation with a better room at Splash Inn instead of the West End Dive Resort ( the reason was that there was an issue about the road going to the West End Dive Resort ) we were quite happy about that because we had booked a good room in a quiet place with a nice view on a swimming pool so the upgraded room could only be perfect. Turns out that the room was stuck behind a stair case with no natural light, a strong smell of humidity, wet bed sheets and AC not working and needless to say, no swimming pool. By the morning we asked to see the room that was booked in the first place and the truth was that the entire hotel was under renovation and no real issue with the road. We then took our room there despite the renovation. We asked 2 times for wifi password ( the walk between Splash Inn where the reception is and the West End Dive Resort is 10 mins ) so in total 40 minutes walk to be given wrong passwords each time ( I missed an important zoom interview because of that ). My wife went a third time just to be told that the problem was with us but not the password and she had to make the owner come with her to prove him wrong. Conclusion: They sell on Booking.com rooms that are not ready to receive people and let you sleep in horrible rooms making you think you were upgraded. The only good point was one of the employees, Elio, who were nice with us during the all stay. We can totally sleep in creepy, hot and humid rooms, we've been backpacking all central america but if we have to sleep in that kind of room, I don't want to pay 85 bucks a night.

Lovely staff, cleans rooms, and tasty breakfast. At check in, I sat for a while as they tried to locate a key for the dorm room that I booked. I was upgraded to a private for the first night and switched to the dorm next day. Both rooms were clean and comfortable. All of the staff I encountered were very friendly and accommodating. Norma was a lovely lady; she would greet me at breakfast and checked on me and ensured that any need was met. I am vegan, so asked for tortillas without cheese as served at the breakfast buffet, they easily accommodated. I never encountered a door handle/lock as the type that were on their doors. Darrel/Darryl walked me over and showed me how to lock and unlock the door. He answered many questions I had along the way, as he has much information because he is from the island. Unfortunately, I do not recall my savior’s name; he worked at reception most of my short stay and had light colored hair or highlights. I call him my savior because my Covid home kit to return to the U.S. was expired and would not be accepted for testing through the testing app. It was about 6pm, the night before my flight and I needed an antigen test. I did panic a bit as I hadn’t researched other testing options and didn’t know where I could get one done in short notice. He called a friend to see if their office was open, and soon after a doctor was sent over to the reception. She conducted my test and took $60usd/$1500lmp payment and emailed me results. They also printed my results at reception. I could relax again! The West End Dive resort is currently an extension of Splash Inn. It is an 8 minute walk from reception at Splash Inn to West End Dive resort. They are doing some renovations, nothing interrupted my stay, so no problem for me. The wifi doesn’t work well in the rooms, but if you step outside your door or go by the pool it works well. This wasn’t really an issue as I had my personal cell network as backup. The pools are lovely and clean! I do hope they install some additional lighting along the driveway leading up to the security booth at West End because it gets very dark on the walk and that can be scary anywhere for someone walking solo. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend to others.

Great to have a pool and great price for the dorms to include a buffet breakfast in the morning. Would be better to start breakfast earlier so not to rush people going for a morning dive! There is only a 6 person dorm, so when booking don't pay extra to go into the 4 person dorm. It's the same room. Comfy beds, very spacious lockers. Good location, 5 mins walk to the beach, just a pain to walk 10 minutes to the front desk if needed

West End Divers was a nice spot to stay for the price. It is worth 5 stars just for affordability. We also loved how beautiful the property and pool are and the fact that we were upgraded to a nicer room with a King bed. Other things we liked were the A/C, the very friendly staff, and the fact that the hotel is far enough away from the night life that it was pretty quiet most of our stay. The negatives were that the room had a very strong cleaning products smell that made our room uncomfortable the first day (but I'm sensitive to fragrance). It is also a bit of a walk to breakfast which is located at the Splash Inn. The only other negative was that because the room we were given had an adjoining door to the neighboring room, it could be very loud if people were talking in their room. But like I said, for the price, it was 5 stars. We will probably be back we liked it so much :)

This place was perfect!! The staff was exceptional, very friendly couldn't ask for any better. The dive staff at the splashinn dive shop was also excellent. Everyone really made you feel at home. Very friendly staff and excellent dive guides.

Great Honduran vacation. Everything is in walking distance. I would go again with my family a do thing that we were unable to do. There is so much to enjoy you would need at least 1 month vacation for that.

Nice and cheap around $40 per night, they should have a vending machine or something where you can get water a soda or something like that.
