A fantastic spot right off the West End beach. The bungalows are clean, functional, and the AC gets the job done. I really appreciated how quiet is was at night The attached restaurant/bar is good and with the daily specials we rarely felt the need to eat elsewhere. There are no in-room safes but the front desk can store valuables if requested. Also, there is an armed security guard patrolling the property 24 hrs/day so break-ins seem pretty unlikely. A few things that Las Rocas isn’t: 1) a five star hotel - rather it’s a wonderfully affordable, functional place to stay, primarily for divers (the onsite dive shop and crew is amazing). 2). A party spot - LR has a great bar with friendly vibe but most folks are crashing early to get ready for the next day’s dive. Stay down the beach if you want to drink yourself into oblivion. 3) A beach destination-resort. There is a small section of beach and a small (large hot tub sized) pool. Deck chairs on the dock are a great place to watch the sunset. However, the large beaches of West Bay are a 3 minute walk away and/or the water taxis can take you West End for $3/head. All-in-all, they do a wonderful job of being a no-pretense, dive resort and I can’t wait to go back.

Excellent service, professional and friendly staff (Thanks Paco!!!). Got our open water PADI here and I don't think there could be a better place. 24/7 security, quite and just off the main West Bay busy beach. Making it and ideal place to rest and find good food after dives or outings. Water taxis are readily available around the corner for trips elsewhere in the island. If you are looking for a smaller place besides the resorts around here, this is the place. It's a good place to meet people. Will recommend 100%.

This place was gorgeous. Like an oasis too good to be true but absolutely was. The staff was great and after 10 days with them they felt like family they were so kind. The place is so close to the ocean that you can hear the waves from inside your room with the windows closed. Guarded at all hours, we felt very safe. After touring the island and visiting different restaurants all over, I can absolutely say that they had the best chef. I hate seafood and this cook, Seray (I know I'm spelling this wrong) made me love seafood. Great prices too. Air conditioning, hot water, back up generators if you lose power so you never really know better. Loved the towel origami with fresh picked flowers the maid placed on our bed after every cleaning. Will def be back.

The hotel itself is decent. Great housekeepers and front desk. As for the diving, well I wouldn't be surprised if they had an accident soon. Dive guides here really don't care about anything. They are the first out of the water and leave newer people to figure things out and then had the nerve to yell at the new diver about his boyancy. And they like to fill the tanks only to 2300. Sometimes you get lucky and get one that was 2800. Oh and they will definitely try to add stuff to your room bill between the dive shop and the hotel itself. Go to a place with the better reputation or just any other place.

We love staying at Las Rocas. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The food is excellent at the restaurant. They have the best dive shop. Mirata is wonderful to work with. Plus you are at the quiet end on West Bay Beach. Definitely will stay there again.

I just finished 11 days in Roatan diving with Las Rocas and had an AMAZING experience!!! I've been diving for 30 years and would put these guys up against anyone in the business. I didn't stay at the resort, but the rooms looked nice and the bar/restaurant was great! Mirta and all of the dive staff (Andrea, Tony & Auto) are incredible!!! It's about a 15 second walk between any of the rooms, dive shop, restaurant & dive boat, so couldn't be more convenient unless you were on a live-aboard. I dive with all my own gear, and starting on day 1 the staff took great care of all my stuff, all I had to do was show up and enjoy myself. They also have a great selection of all current rental gear, all in great shape!!! I loved this trip and will be back as often as possible.

Great staff, friendly and professional. Very secure; armed guards 24/7 (common at all the hotels on the beach). Outstanding restaurant on site with spacious, ocean-view seating. Walking distance to beaches, restaurants and stores. Water taxis depart from the resort dock to West Bay for only $3/person. Scuba divers will love the convenience of having a dive shop on site offering certification programs, cave, wreck, deep & shallow dives for all levels. Mirta, the shop manager is great and the dive master (Paco) is very knowledgeable and a great instructor. Reefs were astonishing.

We came to Roatan for 5 days/4 nights, all of which we spent at Las Rocas. We completed our Open Water cert with their dive center, and are so happy we did. It was so convenient to have the dive center / dock a mere 30sec walk from our room. Our instructor, Paco, was very knowledgeable, patient, helpful. Las Rocas Resort was also perfect location - quiet & secluded but with easy access to West Bay beach / bars / restaurants (less than 5min walk), as well as 10min water taxis to West End area. Restaurant staff, included breakfast and happy hour (2 for 1 cocktails for $6) made this the best place to stay and dive!!

Las Rocas is a place that I will be coming back to when I visit Roatan again. The staff was all so friendly. The location is right off of West Bay so you avoid all the tourists and people trying to sell you things, but you can walk to West Bay in a matter of minutes. The dive shop is also amazing, we did the Discover Scuba Diving course and had a bit of a rough time but they were amazing and truly so helpful and kind. I highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a low key vacation spot. This is not your typical family resort with big pool or a big beach, but all of that is within walking and I prefer the more local feel of Las Rocas

Great place if you don't mind a rustic place. Not a luxury resort but if you're ok with basic, quiet, intimate and in luxurious vegetation, you will like this place. Island rhythm so do not expect to be served at the restaurant within minutes. Food at dinner was great. Breakfast is not that great, very basic. We chose to have breakfast elsewhere even though it was included in what we paid. Very close to West Bay beach. Easy access to water taxi to go to West End.

Nice place to go at the west end of Honduras, quiet, at the sidelines and owned by an Italian (which is important - I will explain why later 😄). The other places further west seem super touristy, loud and seem just tiring - at least for me, country music and focused on welcoming big cruisers passengers coming just for few hours in their bars. Rooms are decent, pool quite small and beach is small but quiet. BUT since it is owned by Italian - and these guys know what is important in life 😄- food is delicious (GARLIC LOBSTER!!!) and drip coffee is available 24/7 ☺️ so whenever you wake up you can enjoy the beautiful view and delicious hot coffee ❤️ The team is also super nice and helpful!

Warning if you come from a cruise ship they will overcharge you. It seems the price for cruise ships is $40 higher than others. Save your money and book with the cruise ship if there's room and transportation is included on the ship Besides the pricing we had a very good dive, very helpful staff and a cool relaxing place Be sure and bring your own bottle of water they will not have any on the dive boat

The rooms and setting are rustic. We loved that , but some may be expecting luxurious accommodations. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. You can't beat the location. It's just around the corner from a very busy area, but the location itself is very relaxing and quiet.

This place is great, the rooms are great, the location is perfect, the service is great. ****Do not order ceviche. After eating it my partner and I were suffering the entire day. We stopped eating here because of that****

I stayed at Las Rocas Beach and Dive Resort during Labor Day week 2023. The hotel forgot to pick me up at the airport even after confirming my flight times, so I had to take a taxi. This should have been the first red flag that there were issues with this hotel. On day #2 of my stay there was jackhammer construction going on in front of the office that started at 8am and went all day long. This continued for multiple days and was extremely disruptive. I understand maintenance needs to be done on hotels, but they should close during construction or disclose it upon booking. The on-site dive shop is poorly run. They take you to basic sites directly in front of the resort to save time and gas money and do not have afternoon dives scheduled as advertised. One of the dive guides is too busy looking for lionfish to keep watch of his guests while the other one at least tries to watch her guests but she does not do dive briefings or check divers before they drop in the water. I witnessed one guest drop in the water without her regulator in her mouth once, and no mask on another time. This same dive guide lets her guests sit on reefs and wrecks while she takes selfies of them for extra tip $. I saw it in person and saw the videos on Facebook. But what pushed me to my breaking point was that after breakfast midway through the trip, I was told I had to either pay an extra $100 to go to an upgraded dive site “Mary’s Place” or sit out a dive day because other guests wanted to go. I had already been to that site on three previous trips and felt like I was being bullied. My experience with this hotel and dive shop trip was so bad I chose to leave the hotel to dive with a different shop on my last salvageable dive day, and I literally changed my flight to return home one day earlier than planned. If you are an experienced diver, this shop is not the place for you, however, it is perfect for DSD classes, and new divers who don’t know any better. The one positive thing I can say about this resort is the restaurant food is good and it is in close proximity to other restaurants and hotels on West Bay beach. This resort has a good reputation, so I was very surprised at everything I encountered. It was my fourth time on the island.

Stayed here for 7 days. Location was perfect, a short walk to the oasis that is West Bay Beach. Rooms had AC and hot water, and are cleaned daily. Included breakfast was excellent and the staff at the restaurant were excellent. The shuttle to and from the airport was definitely very appreciated. Would be very cautious when talking with staff as we got mixed answers when it came to the exact location of excursions or the timing of shuttles. Overall, an amazing place to stay in Roatan.

Absolutely breathtaking views, staff is incredible. We love Nicole and Winston at the restaurant! Geraldine who works at the dive shop helped get me certificated and was so encouraging and patient. Otto, the captain of the dive boat was also extremely helpful and kind. Although some of the cabins are slightly on the rustic side they seem to be slowly redoing them, even so, they really are cozy! Location is great and you can catch a water taxi right off their dock!

The staff was very accommodating and the dive shop personnel were knowledgeable, experienced and awesome. The diving was phenomenal and their service was superb. The food was fantastic and the bungalow was clean, private and quaint. This place is perfect for couples that are not looking for the loud party scene or lots of children. That all can be found a short walk to the beach at west bay.

Las Rocas was an amazing place to stay. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a nice quiet place tucked in next to west bay and west end. Rooms - were simple but clean and in an amazing location. Be aware you cannot flush toilet paper in the rooms. This was not a problem at all it was just new for us. The items in the mini fridge were very reasonably priced and we took advantage a few times. There didn't appear to be a bad room in the whole place. Great views and plenty of shade. Restuarant - was very good. Almost everything we tried was top notch (except the nachos). The staff was friendly, especially Winston! The food takes a while but that is because they're actually making it not re-heating it. The drinks were very good too and they had a good selection of beers/sodas/mixed drinks. The price is also very reasonable and affordable. After 9 days, eating there 2/3 times a day our bill was only ~260. Diving - OUT OF THIS WORLD! I came to dive and get my open water certification, but after seeing the beautiful ocean life and vibrant reefs I was hooked. My girlfriend and I rolled our certification right into our advanced open water certification. The staff, especially Alex and Paco were so kind and accommodating to us as new divers. They were patient and very knowledgeable. I am so happy to have learned here and will remember this place and those people forever! Thanks so much! Over all, 10/10 I would highly recommend staying here... last note is that the boat lane between west bay and west end is very close to the dock/Beach. This is no fault of Las Rocas, but you should be aware that shore snorkeling is dangerous when you have to cross the boat lane.

We loved our week at Las Rocas!! My husband, 3 year old and I stayed there for our first trip to Roatan. The location is AMAZING!! At the property there is access to a sandy beach where you can snorkel by the dock/rocks and see fish, eel, and sea stars. It is extremely quiet and relaxing in this section and we spent 90% of our beach time here versus the larger West Bay. We didn’t use the pool at all but there is a small pool overlooking the water (we were steps from the beach so we didn’t want to use the pool). It is about 2 minutes away from the picturesque West Bay beach where you’ll find pristine turquoise ocean, local shops, and food. It got very busy (we stayed during peak time), but before 9 am it was very pleasant. ~25 minute walk gets you to in front of Grand Roatan Resort which has the coral reef right off of the sandy beach, perfect for us with a young one just learning to snorkel. The hotel rooms were pretty basic, but clean and had what we needed. We would definitely stay again, but bring our own shampoo and conditioner (the packs provided were a 2-1 and not great for my hair), beach towels (or you can purchase at the front desk), and a snack cooler (there is a stocked mini fridge so there wasn’t many snacks). Recommend bringing a bug repellent with a lot of deet or buy the local natural stuff from the front desk to keep the bugs from biting. The restaurant staff and chefs were SPECTACULAR!!! We ate at the hotel for 95% of our meals because there was enough variety between the lunch and dinner menus. They had plenty of options for my picky 3 year old which meant he ate at all meals. Breakfast was fruit, pastries, cereal, and a hot option which changed every day. The empanadas were by far my favorite. Almost everything was made from scratch, including the delicious tortillas. The portions were very generous and reasonably priced. The staff were very accommodating and surprised me with a birthday cake since I celebrated my birthday while we were there. I am so happy we stayed at Las Rocas. We went because it was the ideal location and one of the few reasonably priced options, and we’ll choose it again because of our experience and it truly had everything we needed.

I had a great week at Las Rocas! The resort is beautiful, tree-filled and quiet. The cabins are charming with private verandas. The rooms are pretty basic, but you’ll have everything you need with minibar, air conditioning and a clean space. The bar/restaurant is right on the water. If you’re looking for more activity, walk three minutes down the boardwalk to West Bay or pay five dollars to take a 10-minute water taxi to West End. Walkable to Gumbalimba Park as well, which I recommend. I don’t dive, but tagged along on a dive boat for snorkeling, which was great. I would be happy to stay here again in the future.

Such a fabulous group of people who work at Las Rocas Dive Center! From the scuba guides to the ones who set up your dives or help you to rent equipment, such a fun and exciting experience! Plus, the boat captains are the best!!! They will take you on awesome dives. Don't miss this place when you go to Roatan!

We had the best time here!! Everyone was amazing. From Luis and Sasha in the office, to the fun bartenders , Winston and Devon and the other 2 (I can't remember there names🤦‍♀️) but all were great! And we can't forget the dive shop. We did 11 dives and Geraldine was awesome, enjoyed every minute of it and Aaron was our on board entertainment 😀 and last but certainty not least our captain Otto aka Maui!!! The resort was very private yet a five minute walk and you can walk the beach in west bay and a short water taxi ride you are in west end. We will definitely be back😊

Very relaxing place to stay. We enjoyed being so close to the ocean and right around the corner from a huge beach. We had a blast diving and the variety of restaurants on the beach was great. The hot breakfast included every morning was nice to have before diving. It was super convenient to see the dive boat pull up while you were finishing breakfast. Otto, Geraldine, and Aaron were great at the dive shop.
