Top! We booked a private tour to have our son enjoying and appreciating details and we’re fully satisfied. Our guide Donato got the right approva with our kid, explaining in a simple but captivating way ancient Roman history, the life and events at the Colosseo and Fori Imperiali. He stopped to have us playing dices on Colosseo stairs or to explain where the world Colosseo comes from. We had to guess animals fighting in the arena form their sounds which Donato played for our son. Absolutely money week spent.

Absolutely brilliant experience. We went on no less than 3 tours in Rome with our guide Donato on 3 consecutive days. He is a brilliant guide - friendly, engaging and very knowledgeable. We learnt a huge amount. He made it a great experience for our teenage daughters and us adults. As a bonus, the tours include all tickets and guided tours jump the queues!

Our two kids, 7 and 9, say this Colosseum tour has been the best part of their Rome trip. Donato was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and always kept the kids engaged with interesting facts, games and scavenger hunts. Five stars!

My wife and I were concerned about visiting the Vatican City and its sights with our 3 and 5 year old boys who can sometimes be noisy and crazy. We booked this tour and Alex our guide was absolutely awesome at engaging with the boys and keeping the tour exciting for them. My wife and I were able to enjoy the tour as well and look at things that interested us. I'd highly recommend taking this private tour with Alex if you have little kids.

Booking and scheduling were a breeze and our tour with Donato was AMAZING! We hit a little bit of a crowd on our way to the Sistine Chapel, but he kept the kids entertained and engaged! We all learned things we didn't know and I've been there a few times before.

Donato was fantastic. A great host and brilliant guide, particularly for the younger children where he expertly brought to life Ancient Rome for 2 hours in a really engaging way.

Lovely day out, super fun and educational for the whole family. We got access to the Colosseum and the Roman Forum and learnt so much about both. Our guide Bruno was so patient with the kids and really engaging. Highly recommend for families with kids.

Donato was outstanding! On a hot summers day he kept 5 kids (ages 6-11) completely entertained and engaged through the entire Colosseum & Forum tour. He simplified it all for them and I love how he was able to show them what it used to look like as they were really able to visualise it. The kids all say this was a highlight of our trip and they all learnt so much (as did us adults!). I cannot recommend Donato highly enough - knowledgeable, entertaining guide, patient and understanding and a genuinely lovely guy. Thanks again Donato!

Very nice evening tour in Rome with Marco. Kids where very happy to be guided by him. They learned a lot about ancient Rome. If you are in Rome and need somebody to make your family happy for few hours, ask for Marco.

THE Vatican tour was absolutely the best and Marco was perfection. He was a great teacher and entertained adults and children alike. Very knowledgeable and interesting. Kind and patient with our children. Our kids are a little shy and Marco had them engaged and laughing in no time. They loved his “magic tricks” too. Highly, highly recommend. Marco made an awesome restaurant recommendations too (we ate at one 3 days in a row :). Oh and his surprise at the end of the tour was such a lovely momento. We just loved it! Thank you, Marco!

Excellent experience overall. The booking manager was very prompt and informative in responding to emails and made arranging the tour very easy. Marco was an amazing tour guide- as personable as he is knowledgeable. He was patient with our toddler who was acting standoffish at first and by the end, wanted him to pick her up. We asked dozens of questions and he had the answer for every single one.

Marco our guide was awesome, my kid loved every moment of the tour, we booked the family friendly guided tour in Rome for the Colosseum & Roman Forum, it was 3 hours long and great value for money, we didn’t have to wait in line it took just a minute to get in, Marco was highly engaging, played fun games and told stories on Roman history, educational, fun and my kid had a blast. My kid loved it so much that she said she got sad when the tour was over and she made a new friend! Marco spent the time getting to know my kid, she loves Japanese anime, English is her second language and he was able to give references to relate. Fantastic tour, had a mix of kids in our group aged from about 6 to 14, and our guide Bruno kept them all equally entertained and involved, along with the parents. It was extremely fun and educational all round, very pleased we booked this.

We and our children had an absolutely fabulous time on the Vatican tour. Our guide, Alessandra (Alex), was very knowledgeable about the history of the buildings and the art, and having a private guide to navigate us through the crowds was crucial. The skip-the-line tickets were essential to enjoying our tour as well. We and our children learned so much and as a result were able to appreciate what we were seeing , to a much greater extent than if we had been going through the buildings on our own. Our youngest, 9 years old, especially enjoyed gathering points and beating his parents at the game that Alex devised. The small prizes given at the end were a hit!

My family had a memorable tour with Donato at the Colosseum and Forum, and would happily recommend the experience to any travelers visiting Rome! My husband and I had been to the sites before but learned so much more through Donato’s wonderful descriptions. Our children, 6 and 9, were enthralled even though it was chilly and rainy. They of course loved the games and trivia as described in other reviews. Even better, my 9yo said he wished all his teachers could be like Donato because he’d never want to leave school! Booking was a breeze and communicating with the company was very easy as well.

This tour was perfect for kids and adults! There were kids from ages 6-14 in our group. Our guide Donato was extremely knowledgeable and very engaging. Donato was our tour guide on two tours in Rome: Vatican and Colosseum/Roman Forum. He is a lovely person to spend time with and so knowledgeable. He was brilliant with our kids (16 and 11) and got them very engaged and interested. He really brought the history of Rome alive for us. We would highly recommend Donato if you’re considering a tour.

We had an amazing “Percy Jackson” tour with Donato at the Capitoline Museums.He made sure all three of my children were engaged, and it was my 10 year old’s favorite tour of the 5 we have done so far in Italy. We loved our guide, Jared. He was very engaging and our boys (ages 14 and 11) really enjoyed The MET because Jared was so knowledgeable and fun. He found ways in every area to show the boys something of interest to them. Jared was a great listener and his conversations with our boys helped them be better observers of art. We highly recommend this tour for families visiting NYC.

We recently visited Rome and my husband (who had a big birthday!) requested one thing - to visit the Colosseum up close and personal. We elected to spend the extra cash for a one on one tour and were delighted to be able to spend a morning with Donato! Donato was engaged with our kiddos (6yo and 9yo) from the moment he met them and our kids went from - “this is going to be boring” to “This was the best time in Rome!” We later did a small tour of the Pantheon and our kids missed Donato terribly. They actually said “We wish Donato was here with us!” Grazie Donato! You are amazing!

Our guide Veronica was wonderful, full of energy, excitement and passion and absolutely great with the kids. She managed to keep them engaged and entertained for almost 3 hours. Value wise it is a bit expensive considering you don't see all the levels of the Colosseum, but overall was good for us.

I traveled to Rome with my ten-year-old grandson from Washington, DC.end of October for a week. I booked three private tours with Pinocchio Tours and these tours were the highlight of the trip. Francesca, our tour guide in the Colosseum one day and the Vatican Museum and St. Peter's Basilica on another day, was fantastic. She is excellent with children and made the visits very interesting for my grandson. He learned so much because she took the time to relate to him and explain history as if she were telling a children's tale. In Florence we were fortunate to have Giulia as our guide. She is also an expert on children and even played games and treasure hunts with my grandson during the tour. To this date all my grandson talks about is his tours with two super heroes, Francesca and Giuliana. Thank you Erica from Pinocchio Tours for organizing all my wonderful tours!! An excellent tour operator for sure!

He told the story of its origins and the use of the building structure in a very entertaining way. Donato is very knowledgeable and engaged personally with everyone in the group and made it very enjoyable.

Fantastic tour of colosseum and forum provided by Donato. Donato was great with our 2 children who at times struggled to pay attention. We’ve had long days, lots of walking, and he made it easy for them to enjoy, which we were very grateful for. Donato is very knowledgeable and even my wife who studied classics in Rome learned new things from the tour. Very impressed.

Donato gave us a tour of the Capitoline Museums and it was our favorite tour in Rome! He engaged all four of my kids (ranging in age from 6 to 14) so well and each kid said they wished we’d had more time touring sites with him. He is so knowledgeable and keeps everything interesting!
