If the rating is only for the food, then it was very good. They deserved the 5 stars! But, since the rating is not for the food alone, I have to make deductions. -1 star for the service. You get the feeling that the customer is secondary here. The main thing is that the customer pays and leaves for the next ones. I understand good service to be something different. After ordering, the food arrives at different times, which makes eating together impossible. Different servers deliver the food and just put it down. -1 star for the restaurant guess nothing has been improved here since the opening. The tables are close together and you have little space in general. The toilet is very small and dirty. They should definitely improve this, because they want to give the customer the best. In summary, the food was top, the restaurant flop.

Fantastic food great location in a Indian colony next to Gare du Nord train station connect to euro star and local. Less than 5 minutes walk and excellent with and north Indian vegetarian food. It was delicious same flavour like London and was very busy moreover the price was same reasonable and affordable.would love to visit again if we visit Paris again . Only issue thy seems very serious about hitch could be more smile towards customer .

What can I say! It was the most pathetic dining experience so far interms of service! Almost all the customers in all the tables had to go through a chaos. We waited for a good 10 minutes and this one particular waiter comes in with 2 water glasses and 3 tissues for our table of 4. This was just the beginning of the most disorganized service. We had to literally call and check if there was someone willing to take our order. Our next table was with an elderly couple and the man had to get up, walk towards the waiter a couple of times to place his order. If this was the case for ordering, service was on another level. Each and every table had to wait for unknown reasons, then being partially served. Since we were tourists, we had another pre-booked visit (though after 1.5 hours), we were simply sitting for a good 30 mins without food. Finally, we called the waiter and said if we don't get food, then better to cancel the order, so that we could keep moving. After which food was served!! The authentic taste of south Indian food was the only convincing thing in all this ruckus. The one thing which is common to all Saravana bhavans be it Chennai, Dubai, Amsterdam or Paris is the rattling noise of cutlery in the counter, which is highly annoying! It's been a long time since we stopped visiting Saravana Bhavan due to this. Anyways, did we enjoy the soulful authentic south Indian food despite all this is a big question mark!!

We ended our Paris trip with brunch at Sarvana Bhavan restaurant today ie on Sunday. A little cramped for our cabin suitcase and handbags. Drinking water in stainless steel jug/glass and is served without any extra cost. We had ordered for 1) Milagai podi masala dosa - which was nice and crispy, 2) Mysore masala Dosa - the chutney is different from the regular red colour chutney that is spread inside the dosa in India, this one is light pinkish-orangish colour chutney, was mild in taste, 3) Medhu vada - didn't look the typical brown neither did it taste as crispy and spongy as the ones we've had in Chennai or Bangalore, 4) Onion ghee rava masala Dosa - was crisp with the right ingredients and taste, 5) Puris - good taste, fluffy, crisp. Was served with chutney and veg kurma, 6) Madras filter coffee - the look and taste was authentic and the best part was that it was hot. 7) Lastly but not the least the chutneys were not that great, it was a bit watery and low in taste. PS; Apologies for the pics of half eaten plates, we were having south Indian food after a loong time so couldn't resist :)

Crowded, noisy and congested seating. This place no doubt serves authentic south indian food, but the ambiance is just chaotic and food taste was just fine. Very busy during evenings, specially on weekends. Average wait time is 15 mins. The staff forgets the order and always seem in hurry. Not recommend for fine dining ! The price was competitive, however I felt that the coffee was little overpriced. Washrooms were not clean. No space park the car nearby. If you find street parking, park at your own risk near nord station. Suggestion for the restaurant owner: pls expand the area otherwise the brand is getting ruined.

North indian food is fine. But i would really recommend you to order south indian food which is a DELISH. And the filter coffee is like a cherry on the cake. Waiting for this restaurant to open in Munich!

Tried two dishes tonight, typical South Indian food. It was really good, I especially liked the dosa filled with potato and cheese (first dish)! I had mango lassi and a rice plate with many curry too. I recommend and will come back!

Such a yummy spot!! I didn’t realize that only part of the menu is offered during lunch, so I will definitely come back for dinner. The pricing was reasonable and the food came out fast! I would recommend getting the South Indian thali

€14 Special Thali — unclean, bland, worst in its category 🤢 € 7 fresh orange juice — good 👍 I thought of ordering dosa but saw a lady returning it so I decided to leave. Bad vibes 🤮

One of the best South Indian vegetarian restaurants. The food is amazing, but sometimes the service is a bit slow, mainly during weekends (waiting time could be 25+ minutes).

Keep coming back here, whenever in Paris. The place has maintained its authenticity for almost 12 years since I started visiting the restaurant; vegetarian options for south/north Indian food; never miss the Special Madras coffee after meals.

Amazing South Indian food -- we ordered South Indian thali as both of us were craving for Indian food here in Paris. The thali had all the tasty South Indian sabjis along with poori and chawal, more quantity than one could eat up in one go. Definitely a must try place.

I'd say the food is not worth the money at all. The portions are ok but they are quite pricey for a vegetarian restaurant. The taste wasn't great either

Very yummy and authentic taste. I was a regular visitor to Saravana Bhavan OMR Chennai. All the items which I tasted were exactly similar to what I tried in India. Even the waiters and the chef were speaking Tamil. Felt like I'm in India. The items were served very fast and the restaurant was super clean. I would recommend them to improve the service little bit since I had to ask water and coffee multiple times before being served. Coffee was super yummy. One should definitely try the filter coffee here. Would recommend 100% and will definitely visit again.

One of the best place to enjoy the South Indian delicacies. Taste 5/5. Some of the dishes could be really chilli hot for French people. However, dish like Chhole (chana) Bhatura is a great choice. Flavoursome and not so hot. Ambiance is typical 2/5. Thé service could clumsy sometimes during the peak hours. Try the filter coffee or masala tea here. It’s really nice. Location is quite easily reachable.

I have tasted Vada sambar, masala dosa, poori in this place. Food taste - normal Price - above average Staff - responsive staff Service - very rapid ( within 5 - 10 mins max) Payment modes acceptable - cash,cb,ticket Restraunt Cleanliness - average (thunbsdown) Toilets - ✅ (seprate for men and women) Seating capacity - lots of seats (big space) Crowd - normal not heavy crowdy(i went in the morning) Beer - ✅(i observed kingfisher) Menu - lots of items (nearly 4 pages of menu 👉 One small water bottle is 3€ Cons - cleanliness is main and improving the quality of the food (i mean taste). Rest everything was good. Note - all the above is my opinion not referred by anyone.

This is an average place for South Indian food. Nothing great, but it's worth a visit if you're really craving some South Indian food. The service is pretty slow.

Best place to enjoy South Indian food in Paris. They are the largest South Indian restaurant chain out there! Their food is as close as it gets when it comes to Tamil cuisine outside of Tamil Nadu

My husband and I were so satisfied with the food here. After looking for Indian food options in Paris for 2 days, we finally landed at Saravana Bhavan and we thank our stars for it. We hogged some authentic south indian food here and returned the day before we were set to leave Paris. Enjoyed all our meals here.

Having been to many Saravanaa Bhavans all over the world, I would say taste wise they are up there. Only downside is that certain items are extremelty overpriced. For example: Fruit juice for EUR 7.50.

Very authentic food. True to taste and quality. When it is busy, service is a bit slow. But it is worth the wait.

Takes a long time to get your orders ready. Had to remind the staff multiple times to get the orders. Food was quite okay, particularly ghee roast with chutney was good, Idli could have been made better. Good place for those who are craving for some South Indian cuisine.

    1. The person in white shirt (Aug 14 2023) with small beard was not nice . He was mocking and making fun of us for requesting to repeat the menu ( group with 2 kids). Also shouting at us when we asked to clarify something . Also shouting at other people . The other people in black shirt seemed nice . 2. washroom was a disaster as in other saravanabhavans in EU 3. Food was tasting very good

Authentic South Indian food, service was excellent. Highly recommend for all food lovers in the city.

  • 4/5 Sowmya T. 6 months ago on Google
They have a lot of options in their menu. The South Indian thali was copious. The restaurant is small so the seating is a little congested. The prices are very nominal given the cost of living in Paris. For three diners, the bill was 36euros. It's located just a few minutes away from the Gare du Nord so it's easily accessible by train. We will definitely visit again.

Saravana Bhavan delivers again! Authentic south Indian food at bit pricier prices. Their parotta is simply the best. Also their masala dosa and Chennai chilly gobi were too good. They also have the authentic South Indian filter coffee. So definitely try that. Superb place in Gare du Nord, and a must visit for authentic Indian food.

The authentic flavours of Saravanaa are same in anywhere as same. The restaurant is very near at Paris Nord station approximately around 150 meters walking distance. The staff are friendly, but they not able to attend all as the foodies are more inside …. So management needs to take care as around 30+ Indian restaurants are near to you at left and right.

When you crave for authentic south Indian food, this is the best place. They provide excellent service and food here tastes fantastic! I ended up indulging in 3 to 4 different items at once. It's centrally located as well, as a tourist, i was able to find it easily. If I visit Paris in future, I'll be back here for sure. Forgot to mention, the texture, taste and quality of Idli/Idly served here is simply out of the world. I would rate it better than even some of the restaurants in India.

The quality of food is decreasing day by day. These days often food not cooked properly. I ordered a South Indian Thali and next day my stomach was complete upset for whole day. Staff is not motivated, customers are not treated properly. Looks like they just want to earn money.

Food was brilliant! Ordered south Indian thali and masala dosa! Great taste .. Ordered falooda which was not great only few fruits and ice-cream but definitely worth a visit only for food not for service & cleanliness.

very good, south indian vegetarian food, authentic and high quality! service could be faster and we had some shortcomings in our order (they forget to bring a dish and water, as well as cups). the restaurant could also improve with the interrior and cleaniness.

Great south Indian food and amazing service. Kind and very hardworking staff who make the food even more worth it. The best south indian restaurant par none in Paris. The great part is that the taste of the food is unchanged from Chennai to Paris. That is one of the most amazing things about this restaurant. The food is world class. The special thali, uttappams, dosas, vadas are tasty and taste exactly like they should. They have exceeded all expectations. 10/10 would recommend and 100% will be back again.

No highlight. Recommend people who haven’t eaten Indian food for a century then you will find it good. The waiters seem to be very fed up with the work.

Great authentic food. Overpriced tho imo. Staff aren’t friendly. Washroom is great and clean. The dish in pic was 14€

  • 5/5 Prajyoth M. 2 years ago on Google
Their food has improved recently. Stick to what they are good at. South Indian food. Best on the street. The South Indian thali is good value for money. Right flavours and good balance of dishes. 14 euros with free refill for curries and rice. Extra poori is 1.5euro. Pure vegetarian and vegan options.
