Such a beautiful place for a stroll. Great views of the Paris streets from above and lovely landscaping with benches sprinkled along the way. I've been wanting to come here, as this was the inspiration for the High Line park in NYC which is one of my favorite spots. It certainly did not disappoint.

It's easy to miss this place if you don't research Paris beforehand or if you aren't a local. This skyline garden trail was wonderful to experience and served as the perfect backdrop for my sister's engagement photos. I could have spent the whole day here easily. Please don't skip this, it'll be one of your favorite Parisian activities if you go. And it's free!

Similar to the high line in NYC, the Coulee Verte is a great place to walk with children as they can run freely without the worry of traffic. The walkway is lined with places to rest and offers great views of the city. The landscaping is beautiful and there is a lovely pond with koi. There are many entries and exits off the path and back onto the street.

Such a pretty & quiet spot away from the tourist crowds.. the roses were in bloom while I was visiting, which made the park even more beautiful. Highly recommend visiting this elevated park if you have some spare time. Perfect for a lunch picnic or to get some exercise in.

A magical walkway in between plants and flowers, above the daily street life, next to Parisian house facades and rooftops. Lost in thought and motion. My Paris happy place nr. 1 - So nice.

A somewhat less-known spot in Paris but it’ll give you all the vibes. A refuge from the busy city on the elevated former railway line. You can observe the 12th Arrondisement from the peace and quiet. If you follow it until the end, it will be a good 5km walk (all the way to the Vincennes Wood). Highly recommended in spring, when the beautiful trees are in bloom.

A small sky garden in Paris with a length of 4.5 km and a height of 10 m. Previously, it was used as a railroad between Bastille and Port Dore, then converted into a promenade in 1988. Fun and interesting scenery brings joy and various shops are located in the building under the garden

Probably was the inspiration for the High Line in Manhattan, in that at the narrowest part, three people can walk side by side, so be considerate and don’t use up all the space. Lots of access points, from the west side, we entered through the corner of Av. Daumesnil / Av. Ledru Rollin and exited at the east at Rue Jacques Hillairet, around 1.3 km of walking. That being said, it’s a lovely walk with lots of landscaping, architecture, scenery, foliage and artworks to look at. Benches are available at some points.

Magical place, this area is just a great example of what a mixed use area could be. It was an absolute joy walking through this. The park has a little bamboo patch, many rose beds, right above probably one of the most interesting streets of Paris where workshops were the store fronts.

Great walking path! You can run or walk there. There are a lot of banches to sit or to eat, or to read a book.

It is a hidden secret in the city, almost feel like the highline of Paris! You can walk along in the elevated park to view the street and neighborhood from a different perspective. The scenery changes along the sections so make sure you spend time to walk as much as you can. I personally loved the pond section, very serene and relaxing. Most of time only people in the neighborhood go, not many people in Paris even know about this place.

A must, off-the-beaten path visit in Central Paris! Just a short walk or metro ride way from the Seine, you walk over old train tracks that have been transformed in a green and lush Wonderland. It's a very romantic stroll place with a lot of green and roses.

Very nice walk in the heart of paris. We can actually forget for a moment the big city rythme. You can go all the way to Vincennes if you follow the trail all the way. It’s not a dirt road so you just need regular walking shoes. Enjoy

Feels very similar to the NYC High Rise walk (although this elevated walkway arrived around 20 years beforehand). The Coulée verte René-Dumont or Promenade plantée René-Dumont (French for 'Planted walkway [fr] [of] René Dumont') is a 4.7 km (2.9 mi) elevated linear park built on top of obsolete railway infrastructure in the 12th arrondissement of Paris, France.

The Coulee-Verte is an above-ground, train track walkway that is definitely worth visiting when you’re in Paris next! It was finished in 1974, 20 years before New York City’s “High Line“, and served as a model for NYC. I walked the northern part of it, towards Bastille, which felt like it was about a mile. Apparently there’s another section of it, which I haven’t found yet. But what a beautiful sanctuary from the loud, hectic city life below! [Film location note: the Coulee Verte was featured in the film “Before Sunset“ - featuring Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy.]

Great place to hide from big city rush. You can spend hours here, just walking among wonderful nature, and looking around on nearby buildings.

One of the best spot of Paris. Excellent for jogging or promenading. Only problem, often it closes before the times written on the panels.

The Parisian High Line. But better. Beautifully designed, this abandoned elevated rail line is the perfect way to spend a Paris day.

What a place. It is a beautiful, quiet, and greedy place you can enjoy in Paris. Similar to High line in NYC

This is a superb walking route on a disused railway line in Paris. You're elevated up above the hubbub of the day-to-day goings on and have wonderful views of the tree tops and buildings. Also known as the Promenade Plantée. It's not necessarily that easy to find and the starting point is a staircase tucked into an archway bridge at the crossroads of rue de Lyon and avenue Daumesnil. There are other staircases en route and lifts for disabled access- although these did not look like they working when we went (May 2022). People relaxing, dog walking, jogging and we also fed the birds. It's very tranquil and a quarter way along there's a roof top gym you can have a go on the apparatus. Highly recommend and a great get away for an hour or so from the busy city.

This walk along the disused railway line from Bastille towards Gare de Lyon offers beautiful views . I've visited many times and watched the plants grow and mature . If you're in the area , check it out .

Exceptional elevated linear park on historic railways, strongly deserves a visit as it's close to central Paris but with a green unique walk perspective

Must do walk. It’s so pretty and so many photo options. Lots of benches to rest and eat. It then opens up to a park with football (soccer) and basketball.

Super path for a walk. Definitely recommend. Male sure to grab good walking shoes, it takes some time to go all the way through it. A lot of runners on the path also.

Incredible park sort of hidden in the city! Great picture stops, deffinently worth the visit. Just watch out for the runners and enjoy the path.

Germ in the city. I saw old railway viaduct and thank god I decided to check it out. And it's sad, that this path was not mentioned in any sites or google places I check. Really wort to visit and walk through it. Felt more interesting and more nice than some parks.

What a beautiful place to walk! We went on a Sunday afternoon and enjoyed the sunshine and views above the streets. The gardens are beautiful with water implements here and there.

This is a great place for a 5k walk. The signs say that this space is primarily dedicated for walkers but there are a lot of runners here as well

What a beautiful escape in the middle of the city in Paris! It’s so green, magical and with beautiful views of the city all around! I found it accidentally and it couldn’t have been a nicer surprise!! I recommend!

It is such a great escape to nature, but you better visit in the early morning before it gets crowded. Anyways, my favorite place in Paris from now on.

Gates padlocked shut over an hour before closing (4:30pm). More to the point, why does a *park* need to have opening hours? 🙄

Beautiful green path and best choice for walking & talking time , with your family or friends in Paris. You have the nature & (old + new architecture) the city at the same time. 🤩

A peaceful place to serve as a little getaway. There are benches along the path, which is good if you feel tired. And the path is clean and doesn’t smell like streets in Paris.

My partner and I wanted to do something beautiful and not very touristy. We found this walkway and loved it. Beautiful in summer with the flowers in bloom.
