This place seems to have been here forever. Very nice and the food was really good. I had an issue though, because I forgot to ask about spices on the fries. They were so very accommodating – they made me whole new fries without any spices. In fact they were very accommodating about several food allergies. Really nice wait staff. But pay attention, because it is not exactly disability friendly. The restrooms are either upstairs or downstairs.

I visited here with my family while visiting the DC area. If you're looking for seafood and healthy portions, look no further. The restaurant was small and quaint. It had character and smelled like a fish restaurant. I had the fish and chips. One person could finish this, but would be very full! Split it with your partner and you'll both be satisfied. The clam chowder was delicious as well. Other members of my family had the fried shrimp and clams. All were delicious. Great wings and service. My friend want crab cakes and when she called Tony indicated there was no wait. When we got there he was correct. You can make reservations. I got Buffalo Wings and she got crab cakes, mussels, mash potatoes and broccoli. Everything looked, tasted and smelled delicious. They may be known for the whole crabs they serve, but other food is there as well. There's also a bar and to go area on the other side.

Amazing good food. It's definitely a WYSIWYG sort of place, and that's what makes the food so good. Ordered crab legs and crab cakes with sides. Also their dessert, key lime pie was the best. I recommend it.

The food was fantastic! The experience of ordering fresh crabs, cracking them open, and eating them was a lot of fun. Besides the crab, they have plenty of other delicious foods too. The crab cakes in particular were probably the best thing I tried from their menu. The only reason I gave it a 4 was because the crabs tasted incredibly salty to me, most likely due to the seasoning they used. For most people it's probably fine. I'm definitely a bit more sensitive to the taste of salt than most other people, so after the first two crabs, it was definitely a punch to the tongue. All that said, I highly recommend giving this place and their crab a go. Just make sure you get the crab cakes too!

Great atmosphere, quick service, and wonderful food. The clam chowder was fantastic, I did get some grit from the clams in a few bites though. The scallops were cooked perfectly, lightly seasoned, and had a wonderful sauce. The salad was fresh and crisp.

Excellent all around! Flew in to DC and headed straight away for dinner. Clam chowder was delicious and the hush puppies were fantastic. I am not a crab or lobster fan but tried the crab legs and may have changed my palette. And then the oysters, get the blackberries!

The crab cakes were absolutely divine, so meaty and delectable. The shrimp was good and the Mac n cheese was excellent. The jerk catfish was not my cup of tea, but it may be an acquired taste. The space was very cute and the staff was very friendly and efficient.

Classic East Coast seafood joint with outdoor seating. Good for families. I really enjoyed the lobster roll and the coleslaw was superb. We came with no reservation and it took a while to get seated, even though there was noticeable availability. Overall, a great experience despite the waiting.

I've been wanting to try this place for a while and it did not disappoint. Due to its popularity we decided to go during inclement weather and got there immediately upon opening time. The inside was small and reminded me of an old home. Staff was friendly and we got seated immediately. It was smaller than I imagined, but was told there's other seating areas as well. To the point: All the food was excellent. The lobster bisque was great, very flavorful and not too much sherry in it like other places. The clam chowder was also tasty and was loaded with clams, potatoes, etc. My daughter had a burger and fries and I didn't expect much, but that was one of the best burgers I've had in a restaurant. Was very surprising as again didn't expect much being that it's a seafood restaurant. Fries were great and seasoned well. The fried oysters were cooked to perfection and whatever the red sauce that accompanied it, we almost fought over it as it was so good. I had a half dozen X Large blue crabs that were HUGE, meaty and delicious. Needless to say we will be going back. Thumbs up from all of us.

Stumbled across this spot a few weeks ago and it’s a hidden gem for seafood lovers. I’m a crab dip snob and they have the perfect ratio of cheese and lump crab meat. The mussels were also amazing. I think the bartender’s name was Mars or something space related lol, but him and the other young lady there were good vibes. We had a good time with them and the other patrons there at the time. Will visit again.

I can say the vibe is very easy going and laid back. There is no rush here meaning no one will make you feel like you need to hurry and eat because someone wants your table. The waiters will not pester you about what’s next and you can go at your own pace. With all that being said it takes time to get a drink or appetizers or entrees. But in my opinion on a lazy Saturday afternoon it fit. No complaints the food was respectfully priced and the taste was delicious. Nothing that was to die for or that stood out for me but no one in our party of 30 had a bad thing to say. We celebrated my Aunts birthday and they accommodated our large party without issue. This place is popular and crowds quickly so thank goodness we had reservations. A very good time and family friendly. We even enjoyed the music. Overall good place with good eats. (No I didn’t get pics of everyone’s plates lol)

This is a very good place to eat seafood. The crabs are always big and meaty. We have never been disappointed coming here. It's a little pricey. Well we always get the ex large or large which ever is available. The earlier you go the better because they have everything. Me and the family always enjoy. We are always full and yes you take home what you don't eat.

First time visiting Quarterdeck and I'm honestly upset I just found this restaurant. A nice local crab house that is perfect for me! I was late for my reservation on a busy Friday night and was still able to accommodated. I ordered a half pound of peel & eat shrimp, half dozen of medium crabs, corn on the cob and was full after two shrimp and three crabs. My friend ordered the crab cake and mesquite shrimp meal and was also full. The food was chef's kiss, hot, flavorful and nicely sized. My craving for crabs was definitely fulfilled. I found a new spot to visit and I'll surely be back!

My husband and I love Quarterdeck! I’m allergic to blue crabs but they have a great selection of seafood I was able to enjoy while my husband enjoyed his half dozen crabs! The food was amazing and staff was friendly!

This place is pretty good. Definitely a lively crowd on a Sunday around lunch time (also crab season) I don't have much knowledge on what crab should cost, but I can tell you that our bill was $260 for a dozen large crab, bucket(6) of corona, 1 bloody Mary, 1 fried oyster (do not recommend) 3 corn on the cob and 1 order of hush puppy's Definitely wouldn't order the fried oysters again. Small and flavorless The corn .......it's corn on the cob 🤷‍♂️ Hush puppies were pretty good (7/10) I am used to much larger more seasoned hush puppies, but these are definitely not the worst I've had in this area The crab were really good and we will definitely be back before the season is out to have some more. Lots of meat and without a doubt not lacking seasoning (if anything it's too much - personal opinion obviously) We have been here a few times for other food items and will continue to come back. Their poyboys are worth a try too.

Our waitress Maggie was absolutely amazing!!! She made us feel welcome and was attentive. We even shared a few stories. The food was amazing as well. The crab tasted fabulous. The coleslaw tasted fresh. All of the food was fantastic.

A very nice bar / restaurant in an Arlington neighborhood. Seems to be popular as many people appear to be gathering there for drinks after work. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We ordered crab balls appetizers which were outstanding. I ordered a jerk can't fish which came with rice and corn on the cob. The corn was tender and sweet. The fish was okay and I think I'll offer something else next time. The rice was cooked to perfection. My wife had fish and chips which she said was good. She had fries and there is vinegar on the table for the fries which for some reason she likes. My daughter had fried shrimp which were outstanding. They were huge and very tender. Overall a very good meal and I would go back again. My only major criticism is that there is a single-use bathroom downstairs which seems a little strange for a restaurant with an active bar.

Was searching for some good eats in DC. Reviews for Quarterdeck looked good so I decided to give them a try, so glad I did! Was greeted and sat immediately in the cozy bar area. I ordered and enjoyed delicious fresh shucked oysters, upeel shrimp and fish n chips. The fresh haddock was lightly fried to perfection and was very good I opted for the delicious onion rings instead of fries. Prices are super reasonable and won’t break the bank. Local laid back atmosphere. Staff very friendly. I’ll definitely be back.

Easy to understand why this place is packed. Large portions of crab dropped right on the table for casual and messy eating. Bring a friend or two to maximize the fun.

The service here is INCREDIBLE! Our server behind the bar worked her a*s off and still managed to take time to make everyone feel welcomed and have a good time The food is awesome! I had fillet of fish. DELICIOUS! Such a cool place!

If you're craving blue crab or seafood, you've come to the right place. I didn't know this place existed until I looked for seafood near my home, so I didn't have to travel to Maryland for crab. We came here for our blue crab but ordered other dishes too while waiting for our main course to arrive after 35 minutes. The crab was perfectly cooked and had a delicious marinade, not salty like another crab restaurant we ate at before. Even though there were only 4 of us, we couldn't even finish a dozen of blue crabs. The service is excellent and very attentive whenever we need anything. They're ready for us in a second even though the place is crowded, but the staff run in and out of service like a breathe. I highly recommend this blue crab restaurant for anyone craving crab and seafood but doesn't forget to make reservations in advance; otherwise, you will either be a long wait or will turn down with no table left for the evening.

Great little spot for crab and crab based foods. The lobster bisque was delicious and had a good portion of lobster chunks. Overall very delicious and would recommend. Also parking is kinda difficult

Very cool place. I had never been before. It was a company event so I have no idea about prices. Loads of crabs that you have to break open and eat by hand (but that is not a negative as that is how they are served). Lots of great shrimp. Baskets of onion rings and french fries and plates of sliders - both hamburger and seafood. Beer comes in buckets. The service was very good. We ate outside so I have no idea about the interior. I would go again. Would be interesting to see the difference between our event and just being a normal family customer group.

Simply the best crab you'll find in Virginia. We have been to several places here in VA and it is by far the best. This is one of the few five star reviews I've ever given. I have eaten crab cakes in a dozen states and countries and never had a better crab cake than here. I can't speak for Maryland, but it could be the best in Virginia and Maryland? We had an amazing dozen crabs and the staff was very helpful with how to disassemble them. The bar is great too - we've been back since just for drinks and it's a lot of fun; a great dive bar. If you only have one night for dinner in Arlington, you need to do it here.

Unique seafood bar! We enjoyed the patio seating. Our group had blue crab legs, fresh haddock, mussels, shrimp and crab cakes. All of the main dishes were very good. Macaroni and cheese, potato salad and fries were excellent. Coleslaw not our favorite-flavor was unusual and it was missing a ton of salt. Also, The server said that they don't split checks for large groups. Overall, a great lunch!

The customer service, atmosphere and food are all AMAZING! The crabs are big and full of meat. The chicken wings are cooked just right. My sister is a vegan and she was able to join us and enjoyed her vegan options. My nephew is 8 years old enjoyed himself especially his frozen non-alcoholic beverage 🤣. Reservations are a MUST and parking is limited. I rate it FUN for EVERYONE 💖
