Great local beers recomend you stop at this micro brewery in Rostock Northeastern Germany.

Whilst the Trotzenburg has been around for decades you definitely can see that it has adopted to the new times. Nice interior design with a lot of timber work. The kitchen style is classic Mecklenburg. Quality is average in my opinion. I felt that the ingredients on my dish were mostly pre cooked and not really done in-house. The service was hit and miss. Whilst very attentive in the beginning, specials have not been presented not recommendations made. Waitress was smiling tho and seemed to like what she is doing, which is a plus. After lunch concluded and with a polite question for dessert, more drinks or coffee the service showed down. You were literally waiting to get any waiter to come by the table. Split payment were not a problem either, but Management.... Upgrade your EFTPOS machines or your POS. It's 2022. Allow them to accept tips. Trotzenburg has potential to become even better

Food was pretty good, they got 2 of our orders wrong and didnt offer anything in return and the server that got it wrong wasnt really the nicest

We went to Rostock in January of 2023 and stopped by the Trotzenburg to have lunch. It was a rainy day and the place was pretty empty. The food was really good and so was the service. The last time I was there was in 1982, the place had a buffet style setup and was pretty noisy. A lot of things have changed since then, and all for the good. Thank you !!!

Own brewed beers. Must try them all, the seasonal also when you're lucky. Food excellent.

I had a bad experience with the bartender, she was racist and talk to me very bad, but the quality of beers are good and taste well.

Had diner here on a business trip. Food and personnel were very good and the Platzhirsch was one of the best beers I ever had.

We wanted to have a late lunch but they didn't serve food between 2-4 pm. Beer was good but we left hungry. Large place right next to a zoo.

We've never had a bad experience at Brauhaus Trotzenburg. Whether you're taking public transportation or driving, the restaurant is easy to reach. The large umbrellas make sitting outside in the summer a comfortable experience, and their selection of self-brewed beer is both satisfying and refreshing. The food is delicious, reasonably priced, and the portions are generous. I can't attest to the English language proficiency of the staff, however.

It's an ample location with a rustic charm. Solid dishes are served. Location is known for it's beer but you can't get every type anytime. Service is literally not available. Aspect a long time waiting on dishes and drinks.

What a great place, with a friendly owner and staff and great beer made to the famous Germany quality standard. Grab some beer and sit in the outdoor garden if you can.
