I love steaks - and I like the Block House. Used to go there all the time. Sadly, in the past times, they always fail to match my order. In my past three visits, I ordered my steak rare - just to make sure I get something better than well done. This time, my fries were soggy - and my meat on the medium-well side. Sorry, I really wanted to write something nicer - but ... I give up. Particularly, since last time my service was so rude that I even contacted senior management at the hq. The response matched the attitude. I give up. Sorry Block House.

Food looked good. But their definition of medium rare is definitely rare. Dark red core. But that is fine. I don’t mind rare as long as it’s not blue. But for a ribeye to be that stringy, not marbled, but sttingy. I struggled to cut as well as to get through it with my teeth. The parts I could cut were quite tender. The bruschetta was soggy. Price would be good if the cut was okay. Service was ok. It would be unlikely that I would ever go back

Service slow and impolite, ribeye was ordered medium but was medium-rare at best, the quality wasn't so great either, although my son's fillet was very good. Salad was underwhelming.

I went there with a group of friends having a nice steak dinner. The first serving was the salad that comes with 3 options for the dressings (I took the French, garlicky sauce). The service was excellent, and there is not much waiting time for the main dish to be served. We love the cosy atmosphere of the restaurant and the bar is quite nice. Interestingly, the burger is served without the typical buns instead of just a thin, crusty bread at the bottom. I do like this concept as it wishes to emphasise the taste of the patty. This is a popular spot for dinner in Rostock, and it was a full house when we were there. Be sure to make a reservation in advance!

But it is cheap. €200 for four people. Wine and starters included. And the steak was nice!

The meat is very good

Walked over here while staying in town for 2 nights and this steak did not disappoint. The steak meal comes with a steak, baked potato, and a slice of bread. The steak was tender and flavorful and didn't need anything else to complement the meat. For Americans, make sure you order your steak 1 level higher then you like as everyone on the table got a steak a little more rare then desired.

Here you can have good steak. Alot of options. The only thing that is lacking is some mushroom sauce or some other sauces with it. You could order the green pepper sauce but it didn't have that much taste sadly enough. On the other hand with every steak you first get a salad of choice. Then you get with every steak a big potato with sour cream and a piece of bread with garlic. Then you get some sauce with it to put on the bread the food was great and we paid about 38 euro's per person including steak, drinks, and then a little dessert.

A nice steak house in the midst of Rostock that has barely changed in decades. This is good, because the food remains decent and the service is continuously nice and welcoming. You get what you expect in that the steaks are made in a way they are supposed to be made the veggies are fresh and bread/potatoes are classy. However, the furniture and general atmosphere feels dated. The place is rather dark and tables are cozy, i.e., close to each other. I'd go there for a good lunch - if I feel fancy enough to pay not-so-small prices - but would not see it fit nice dining on a date night.

Is the second time I come to this place and I just love it, the attention was good and food delicious, our server was Sussie and she was so lovely always taking care of everything.

At 21:20 they make us seat and at 21:45 told us the kitchen will close so we can’t eat. Ridiculous place will never come again. The waiter laughed while he told us. Mec donald is close and better.
