What an amazing spot! With all the best food in the area! Open up late, super cozy inside and service is friendly and welcoming!! Their pineapple 🍍 and cucumber 🥒 drinks are tasty! but my favorite treat is fries 🍟 with chili 🌶️ cheese 🧀 and of course nachos 🤤

I used to love this place. Best fries I’ve ever had, and then they changed their fries. They used to be curly fries but now they are thick potato wedge style, completely ruined it. After a response from the owner that they now have both types of fries, I am happy to change my review back to 5 stars.

Probably the best nachos in the area! the best service and ambiance inside. it’s small but cozy! all food and drinks were delicious! the cucumber 🥒 pineapple 🍍 drink was amazing! So as the pineapple one! Tuesday was the chicken taco 🌮 day! food is of a very good quality in here!

I can't believe I've ignored this location as I've driven past it so many times. That was erroneous. Everything about this taco diner appeals to me. The food arrives quickly and is light and fresh. We split some nachos. My absolute favorite nachos in the greater Detroit area. They don't serve alcohol here so it's an eat and go place. Everything about it is wonderful.

Great music, fantastic food, and friendly staff makes this a perfect place for a late night bite with friends! The horchata was AMAZING, and so was the cucumber spinach pineapple smoothie thing. My brother and I had an amazing time vibing to the music and enjoying the amazing food. 10/10 strongly recommend stopping here!

The best chicken sandwich of my life. I'm only in town for a few days and I've eaten it twice. It helps that they offer takeout and it's within walking distance. Mask up. Take out options or a lone table outside which was great. Full menu of veg options as well. Not to be missed.

Absolutely the best Mexican restaurant around. It is a small, quaint building. Not a lot of seating. Worth the wait. They are open 24 hours six days a week. Sunday, they close earlier. The tacos are absolutely phenomenal! Everything that comes out of that kitchen is five stars. I am blown away with the quality, and taste of their food. The service is amazing. The staff is very kind. FIVE STARS!

Would love to give 5 stars, but they need to adjust their prices on the sandwiches. While all are great, $13 for a bacon cheeseburger that doesn't come with fries is a little absurd from a diner - especially when an add-on fry is $4!! I'll just continue to go to One Eyed Betty's for my burgers at $14 with a mountain of fries. That is.. until OWL includes fries.

Sooo good, this is my family’s weekly breakfast and taco spot. I get the cilantro potatoes breakfast with the Texas toast, My husband likes the breakfast hash. We also have had the bacon burger, fried chicken sandwich, and all their tacos, I would really recommend anything on the menu lol. Just make sure to get a side of the white cheddar jalapeños cheese sauce, it’s amazing! Also they have really good fresh juices. Basically you won’t be disappointed cuz they are awesome

Unique little diner! The employee who took my order was very sweet despite it being super late at night (1:30 in the morning to be exact). I really liked the avocado toast and my friend gave the tacos a great review! Overall, it was a great experience and I highly respect the staff for their friendliness regardless of the time of day.

This was one of the best Brunch meals I’ve had in a long time. Tried a few different things on the menu and everything was delicious + reasonably priced. Not a ton of spots in front but easy to park int he neighborhood behind. Setup is to order & pay first then grab a seat as things open up. Definitely will be going back. The wings also looked really good.

If you're reading this, you're already late. Get to owl. It's delicious, portions are great, prices are fair. Owl does it's own thing. It doesn't take itself too seriously, it just does dishes very well.

Everything on the menu is amazing! Only setback was the outdoor seating was overrun with fruitflies! Otherwise, 5 stars.

Great breakfast food. A little hard to judge eggs properly since it was carryout but I'll be going back in person once COVID is under control.

Yup. Super small inside. They have counter seating and two four-top tables. You have to order at the register or call ahead. It was our first time so we didn't know. Now we do. The Nachos are excellent. The chips are made fresh right there. So yummy. Their guacamole was also a winner. This restaurant gave me the feel of being back in El Paso with a little 50s diner thrown in. Don't let the crowd of people intimidate you. They move fast, getting your food to you swiftly whether you're eating in or taking to go. After all, a restaurant filled with customers is a great sign.

This place is hopping with takeout orders. We announced that it was our 1st time and the person taking our order didn't seem to care. I thought they works have told us some customer favorites. We had no idea what to order. I'm sure they are use to people knowing what they want. The place seemed to have people who frequent that location. The burgers we ordered were good. I had the bacon burger and my wife ordered the cheeseburger. I just thought for a $13 burger it would come with something. We ordered chips and pico. Including our drinks, we spent $40+. Not what I expected to pay at a place that is setup like a small diner. I'd like to try again but not sure what to order. Welcome to suggestions from the regulars.

Recently, I went to OWL after hearing so many amazing things! Unfortunately, I felt a lot the food was under seasoned with the exception of the tacos. We went on a Wednesday, so the taco special was steak or shrimp. Both were well seasoned, and the green salsa is FIRE! The chili fries lacked a lot of seasoning. The chili itself was bland for my taste, and the fries were not crispy enough. The rice and beans also lacked salt, and the beans were undercooked, so some were still a little crunchy. Eating at the window counter watching the sun set is a 10/10. Despite some of the food lacking seasoning, I saw other people ordering wings that looked spectacular, so I'll definitely have to come back for those!

I always passed the lit up black sign on my way home from work at 1 am and saw people inside. I had no idea what it was until I looked it up and found O.W.L! I was not expecting much for the prices (not in a bad way. just thinking regular average quality mexican) BOY was I wrong. my HUGE torta was only $9!!!!! it was so good too!! we will return for SURE!

Owl low key the new late night snack spot because Covid shut a lot of stuff down. Went here twice this month and food was really good both times. Second time I went I got the chicken fried chicken with gravy and the grilled cinnamon roll. It was amazing. My Partner got some tacos with the beans and rice and it was also nice. Good portion of food for the price ( kinda pricey) accommodating staff, restaurant small but the food is the real gem here. Will come back periodically from time to time when I crave the chicken

As a 'woman of a certain age', I've picked up on the fact that I'm apparently supposed to live and die for avocado toast, which I had actually never tried until visiting here. If this is how it tastes everywhere, then, yeah, I get it. It's THAT good. Can't wait to come back and explore the rest of their menu.

This is a great place to eat at. This review will be inadequate because I thoroughly enjoy their food even though I can’t place it una food category, it’s not Mexican it’s Americanized, fresh Mexican. It’s decadent and delicious. I think this sums it up

One of my favorite restaurants. The food is awesome and the people are wonderful. I can hardly drive by without stopping to grab the chicken fried chicken and gravy.

  • 5/5 Lauren K. 6 years ago on Google
Such a great find. Always pretty busy but their tacos and burgers are wonderful. We love their cheese fries but I’d try to order the cheese on the side if you don’t want it to be a cheese soup!

The food was tasty and I will return. I would like to see them include at least fries with the sandwiches. Also, the steak fries are more like regular fries, they're not as large as traditional steak fries are.

We love OWL. Their food is fantastic, their service is great and the online ordering they’ve set up for COVID is so easy to navigate. My favorites there are definitely the avocado toast and the cilantro potatoes. When I’m feeling indulgent, that fried chicken sandwich is like no other! Definitely try OWL if you haven’t.

I’ve never had bad food from this spot. The burger easily became one of my favorites in the entire area. The fries are excellent and nicely seasoned. The nachos are incredible and were my favorite menu item until I tried the burger. Prices can be a bit high, but the food is so good that it’s worth it.

This is an itemized list of grievances. 1. The presumably frozen from a bag fries were overcooked until dehydrated and stiff. To add insult to injury, salt was omitted in favor of an inexplicable amount of onion powder. 2. The tortilla chips were overcooked and sluggishly dripped oil. No salt was added. 3. The horchata was over sweet and bland. 4. The pico was dry and underseasoned. It was the driest tomato salad I've ever experienced. 5. The chorizo patty was freezer burned, thin, underseasoned, and cooked to the point of being crunchy. 6. The cookies are tiny and a laughable 6 dollars. They seem to contain all the salt my other food was missing To conclude, for the price we pay for the food, none of the overhead seems to be going into the ingredients or care for the staff. As a whole it's a complete embarrassment and disappointing. We expected so much more.
