Gorgeous museum, very well organized with countless multimedia and interactive displays. Only the boutique is somewhat disappointing as it features only a small fraction of what is available for purchase via the web site.

(Translated by Google) It is one of the oldest companies in the world and the oldest French institution still in operation. In Gold or Silver, the commemorative Euros issued by the Monnaie de Paris are among the most prestigious. Each theme, such as the Sower, Europa, Unesco, the Kings of France ... is available in several denominations and celebrates historical or current, cultural events, or major French and European figures. The coins minted in limited edition in BU (Brillant Universel) or BE (Belle Proof) quality demonstrate finesse, beauty and sometimes technological innovations. Collectors will find their happiness. To know the history of coins and medals, it is here that you have to be.

We had a bit of a hiccup finding it. It's a shared building (-a restaurant). But all in all, it was a fantastic visit. For people who are interested in history of minting and production of money, this is for you. Let me tell you a little secret: if you're lucky, you'll get to mint your own money and take it home with you😉

An excellent space to visit in Paris, especially if you collect their medallions at other tourist spots around France. Tour their inhouse museum, see how coins are made and of course shop in their boutique for exquisite and expensive collectors coins or a reasonably priced souvenir. Their collections are updated regularly to match current events. Presently Rugby World Cup, Paris 2024, Year of the Dragon. Disappointing that they didn't make a coin specifically for the defending champions SA while featuring France and a few European countries.

(Translated by Google) It was last year, we visited the Museum which is very well designed with very playful display cases and desks, magnification of medals and tokens which is a breakthrough in numismatics. On the other hand, the reception at the shop is deplorable and although interested, we did not buy anything.

This is one of the most underrated sites we visited. I researched the Conti 11 before arriving to Paris and our visit did not disappoint. There is a lot to see here and it’s never crowded, we did not visit the exhibition portion as we were tired and pressed for time, but the museum portion was extraordinary. There are also interactive exhibits which is mainly for kids but my husband and I enjoyed them as well. We went on a Saturday and it was not busy at all really quiet and peaceful, the only downfall was that the windows showing the workshops had no people working in them, I assume this would be even more interesting to see the people working on site. Still very cool. The current exhibit is on until February of 2020, seen some of the artists work online, worth seeing if you have the time, visiting just the museum portion is 10 euros and museum plus exhibit is 12 euros. Classy little gift shop on the way out. Will certainly go back next time. There is a little something for everyone.

A numismatic paradise in the heart of Paris The Musée de la Monnaie is a treasure trove of history and art that any coin or medal enthusiast would be thrilled to discover. From the moment you step into the elegant building, you are transported to a world of intricate designs, intricate engravings, and fascinating stories. I was absolutely blown away by the quality and diversity of the exhibits, which cover everything from ancient coins to contemporary pieces. Visitors are treated to a feast for the eyes and the mind, as the museum offers both stunning visual displays and informative labels that explain the context and significance of each item. The ambiance is quiet and refined, making it easy to fully immerse yourself in the experience. The service is excellent, with knowledgeable staff on hand to answer any questions and guide you through the collection. What makes the Musée de la Monnaie truly special is the opportunity to witness the artistry and craftsmanship that goes into creating these miniature works of art. The museum features a workshop where you can watch skilled artisans at work, using traditional techniques to produce beautiful medals and coins. I cannot find any fault with this museum and would give it a perfect score. My only suggestion would be to offer more interactive exhibits or hands-on activities for children, but this is a minor point. I would highly recommend the Musée de la Monnaie to anyone interested in the history of money, art, or both. It is truly a gem in the heart of Paris. To the owners and staff of the Musée de la Monnaie, I would like to express my gratitude for the exceptional experience you have created. Your passion for your subject shines through in every detail, and I left feeling inspired and enriched. I would definitely consider returning and hope that others will take the opportunity to discover this hidden gem.

I visited the museum for free because it was the free weekend so it was a bit crowded but still need to book ticket. I was given coins to carve at the beginning of the tour Displays were nice but a bit too technical at the beginning

(Translated by Google) Regarding the Monnaie de Paris store, you must already find the entrance which is not directly on 11 quai de Conti but rather on rue Guénégaud, there is also a “BOUTIQUE” banner indicating the entrance. The staff are attentive and will answer any number of questions relating to the coins and medals on display. Even if the place is not huge, there is something there to find gift ideas at any budget for collectors and numismatists. I really like ! J’aime beaucoup !

An unexpected detour due to rainy weather turned out to be one of the highlight for our trip in Paris. Not crowed, very informative and educational. Good balance of static display and interactive components. The boutique at the end of the tour is a must visit even if you are not a collector. Highly recommend!

Also alles eher enttäuschend….

We've been visiting the Museum on August 23 for the permanent exhibition and also temporary exhibition featuring Money in the Art. Famous and iconic subjects are on display in this museum covering more than millennial operation of coin minting in France. I particularly loved the items on consumerism in the Art.

(Translated by Google) Very nice temporary exhibition on the weights of the Akan peoples (West Africa), the Ashanti in particular, who used gold as a means of payment. This gold was weighed by means of scales and weights. More than 2000 of these weights are kept in the collection of the Monnaie de Paris, and still keep their secret and meaning. Went to visit on a whim as the museum was offering free entry during August including the special exhibition L'Art-gent - really impressed with the quality and range of the art displayed for the exhibition, which together with the permanent exhibit made for a nice afternoon trip. There was no queue, but having prebooked tickets definitely made it easier as we could just walk straight up to the exhibition.

We have been in Paris 3 days(23.07-25.07) and have visited almost all museums including Louver using our vaccination cards (we got vaccines from Biontech and Johnson&Johnson) and only your GENIUS EMPLOYEE told as that we can't enter as you are allowing only the vaccines mentioned on his LIST. There was pfizer in this list as well which is the product of Biontech but the employeeis to clever and can compare only the letters... and with all this he was thinking and talking like he is a one of the brightest minds in this world and with his arabic-french english he was trying to describe the rules with very mocked tone.

It wasn't my "cup of tea" I'm glad we didn't pay extra to get in - its included in the Paris pass. It could be interesting if you're into that sort of thing. The officious security guard who decided I was going to steal something and followed me around didn't help either. Didn't take any pictures there so nothing to post. Although, if you want to buy Asterix coins and a few other Asterix souvenirs, then the shop on the way out is for you.

More than a thousand years of history about France's currency and some interesting information about how they produce the coins and even pieces of art, like bronze sculptures and reliefs. They also have some lost and found treasures. I happened to see also a temporary exhibition about different types of currency in other cultures and it was amazing.

Came here with an avid collector of coins. Guarded and watched by heavy security, we had our bags checked before admission of entry. Totally worth a visit. Coins available at the time of our visit were world cup 2018 coins, special designs by renowned Jean Paul Gaultier, disney specials, etc. There's a paris monnaie museum across the shop too. Grab some french minted coins as souvenirs, it's worth it.
